This blessed me so much! I recently denounced a “Greek” black sorority. On the crest, there is a greek god. After reading these passages this morning, I came to TH-cam for more studying. This has given me more evidence and confidence to go public about why these organizations are not fit for Yeshua’s people. Thank you.

Wow, superb teaching. Well documented, thoroughly shares historical and philosophical context. This enhances the story and message. You cannot read it like a 21st century person, and use our culture to interpret. Fantastic, and also bringing it home with great, present day examples. Great job.

Those “idols” that Paul was complaining about, would be priceless now! They are now in places like the British Museum and the Getty Center and they remain, to this day, a testament of how skillful the artist of Athens were at that time. Too bad the christians destroyed many of them.

Anybody know scholars who write about the likening of Paul to Socrates?

Craig Keener's Acts commentary covers it extensively.
