How many shards of each character are you getting? I'm getting 10-15 a day of each character through the F2P method and I had no problem getting 5 stars. Got them to 5 stars a day ago. I didn't spend any money or an exorbitant amount of crystals either.
AhnaldT101 I'm getting somewhere around that many drops and for some reason I decided not to farm them during the double drops. Why? I have no idea. I got them to 4* for now. I'd prefer to get Thrawn now but I don't really have an Empire team.

Apache505HD Ah ok that makes sense. I took advantage of double drops when it came out which really helped bump my Ezra to 5 stars a lot quicker.
I unlocked him yesterday and his theme , wow, the Legend!

Thank you. I’m newer at level 73, started December 2017. Just got Phoenix up to five stars gear 8. Working on my abilities (only 6’s across the board right now). So it looks like I have a good shot at a five star Thrawn and EP if either drops unexpectedly.
Although I dislike the Phoenix Squadron I really liked this event and that exactly for the reasons you mentioned. I felt the thrill to get this characters ready in time in order to obtain my goal and if a game with such a simple premise like SWGoH can give me that thrill free 2 play, I am happy. Furthermore I only started playing this game in December and as Empire fan I never cared about farming rebels which therefore made me miss out on Emperor Palpatine so far. So I will use the Phoenix Squadron for him too and I don't have to waste more ressources on any rebel scum.

I've just got my GAT, I was already farming Phoenix, but the double drop event was a huge plus for me, 1 day and 200 crystals and Ezra (the hardest to farm from my POV) finally reach 5 stars

I hated the fact that we had less than a week to get them to where they needed to be. Honestly, I wasn't going to bother with them but this is Grand Admiral Thrawn we're taking about. So far I've made it to tier 4 with using all but Sabine just got to get them all to gear 7 and still got to get Kanan and Zeb to five stars but I still got 6 days so I'm hopeful. But thanks for posting got to say your one of my favorite channels keep up the good work!!!
If I had one more week I could get 6*. At least I have Grand Admiral Thrawn. I set a timer so that I could get him when he came out and I did.

From all of the You Tube guys, I think that you had the best response, I agree. Some of the characters should be a grind, but I also agree that we didn't have enough time since Phoenix just became free to play.
Another nice video, its' always nice to see that you enjoy play the game and have just fun with the toons and story behind it. Tell me if you visit Germany someday i invite you for a nice cold German Weizen :D

i wished they gave us more time or x2 drops extended till the event actually started, i wished i did use my crystals for shards instead of gear for them but i cant get them to 5 stars :( feelsbadman

I was salty about this event at first, but like you, I found ways to convince myself that it's okay. You can use these characters to unlock a number of other characters. Some can be used in Yoda's event, EP's and Thrawn's. Then you have Vader and that's 3 strong empire characters you can use for the R2 event if you missed it. Like I did. Haha I don't like how it was on short notice but these characters are probably worth getting to 7 stars just for the events alone. Plus, it's Thrawn! I haven't got mine yet but I'll have him but saturday! Congrats on your unlocking of him!

I personally think it was a good idea. The grind is what makes these characters that much sweeter.

All those are rare events (like yoda and all them )so they give you time this is a freaking legendary event meaning hard as heck so makes sense they'd do that for a legendary kind of event
So do we know when the R2-D2 and Thrawn events are coming back?
I was really frustrated by this event, since I have only been playing for a little over two months, so I hadn't had the opportunity to farm any of the Phoenix characters in their events. As a result, while I will be able to set up a viable 4-star team, I've done the math and there is no way for me to get a 5-star team set up in the time I have.
If this was any other character I wouldn't be so annoyed, but Thrawn has been my favorite Star Wars character for over a decade, and I would have at least liked to unlock him.

Nice!! That's only about 3 days at the very most to farm Chopper if you have 15 shards left! You should get him in no time!
Haha, cantina shipments hate me a lot, since I rarely do refreshes, but I might spend some crystals in order to unlock him. After that I've got 15 days to farm about 30 Sabine shards for those sweet Zetas :D
i started playing like a month ago and i havent unlocked neither Palpatine or Thrawn. My phoenix squad is already 5* but my question is.... should i keep going untill 7* before the event comes up again? i mean.... i should, right? that squad gets me Thrawn and Palpatine. How far should i gear them to get me both palp and thrawn 7*???

its not even like there are a whole lot of phoenix. there are a lot of jedi, rebels, and empire characters for their legend events, but there are just six characters you can choose from for thrawn.
What are some Mods you Reccomend to Zeb
They need to add jar jar with a legendary event that requires you to use sith to capture their ultimate master, Darth jar jar
i think its not worth if becouse now i need 64 shard to hera, or/and 51 shard to chopper or/and 32 shard to sabina, i only play single player, its no way to get it in 6 days. I realy want to try but i dont want to fail, and all effort go to the garbage. What do you think?
ive been checking and am still a vit unsure, but would thrawns fracture work against the rancor? maybe on a zader team? ive got 20 more shards before pheonix is 5* and im the only one in my guild trying to get him! also palpatine event is comming up (26-27 days) and i intend on using pheonix for that..seeing as i missed out on the last palpatine event due to work! happy days

I like your positive attitude to not unlocking him at 7* straight away. I know the whales always need new content immediately but there is nothing wrong with a good grind, i didn't get yoda the first time I could do his event and I had been lvl 85 for months before I got 7* palpatine.

Unlocked today at 5* with Chopper, Ezra, Sabine, Herra, and Zeb. Had them all at level 62, and only Sabine, and Ezra had mods. T7 gear.

I have an OK Empire team. Vadar, Palp, Tarkin and TFP all 7* gear 9 and up. Would these be ok with Thrawn? I see everyone using Imp troopers mainly. Thoughts? And what mods on Thrawn? @ahnoldt101
I don't have Thrawn but after reviewing his character, you should use that team but with a Vader lead.
Any tips for grinding the Phoenix squad, all of mine are currently at 4*

I got 7 star Thrawn tonight! G11 Hera, G10 Chopper, G10 Ezra, G9 Sabine, G9 Zeb. Omegas on Hera leader, Ezra unique, and Sabine unique. Other abilities lvl 5-7.
Imma copy what you did and get the to gear 7 five star. Currently at 4 stars for everyone except kanan (who is at 3 stars) and ezra (who is at 5 stars already). Everyone except ezra is at gear 4 (while ezra is at gear 7 already) and I have 10 days till the event, wish me luck :)

Bro how did you get so lucky. I'm using the same team minus Kanon and used Sabine. My zeb is 7 stars, everyone else is 6 stars and I'm getting one shot by them. My gear is a bit lower tho. At gear 7-8
Chopper is good because of his unique ability if used with Phoenix Squad.
I still need to gear Hera, Ezra, Chopper and Sabine.

so basically to get one of the best you have to play with some of the bad. It sucks that it has to be this way since Thrawn is one of my favorites as well, also it sucks because what I have to do is get a squad of 2-3 stars and low gear ranking characters to a full squad of 5-7 stars and rank 7 characters. But at least I still have a chance to get him for free at all
