Always loved the style chosen for the recent return of Eddsworld since 2020. It really helps keep Edd Gould’s memory alive as both an artist and animator
It actually might be his old character traits resurfacing, since, when Tord was part of the show, Tom was more the slapstick or punchline. Just look at Spares, Hello Hellhole, Ruined, or any of the Zanta Claus Eddisodes.
ive been watching eddsworld since elementary school, now im 22 and revisiting the memories. it makes me so happy to know that matt is keeping edd's legacy alive even till this day. my inner child is truly healed.
Matt and Edd are argued by many to have been far closer in life than Edd and Tom. I remember reading a comment many years ago written in VISCERAL hatred for TomSka, I think his top complaint was something about Tom visibly scrolling on his phone during Edd's eulogy (and Idek if thats true) Idk how much stock to take in it really, but I am glad Matt has worked so diligently to keep dear Edd's memory respected
Ya know, with this episode in general, it feels like the old episodes. Its much more calm in nature and feels like an actual “show” then fast pace comedy. Its hard to explain exactly what I want to say, but I just found this absolutely delightful and a slice of life feeling. Absolutely great job you guys. Edd would be proud 💕
This is probably one of the better beyond-eddisodes I've seen. I love the usage of visual gags rather than the dialogue jokes the Easter episode had. The pacing of the jokes still could use some work and a background score/music would really fill up the eddisode to feel more solid. 7.5/10. Can't wait for part 2!

Peeping back in to also say, Matt you are a ridiculously underrated voice actor. All through Eddsworld, your character has always sounded very natural and your comedic lines always hit right on queue. It's a weird compliment to give, but your screams are always hysterical and perfectly done! I think it carries a lot more Eddisodes than I've ever realized, it really wouldn't be the same without your voice!
Is it just me or the whole scene where Matt is just picking up sea creatures very wholesome and adorable. And the part where Tom eats sand is literally the best. Thanx Matt for continuing the one thing that makes me truly happy❤ your the best. Can't wait to see future episodes!

That missing poster is a charming detail that shows that someone, anyone, cares about her existence in this world. This warms up my heart. Thank you Eddsworld.
The fact that this show is still going, still holding on even king after Edd’s passing, is amazing. Especially considering how many other responsibilities and things Tom and the team have to do. Love Eddsworld and hope it can keep going for many years more. I don’t mind waiting for long periods of time between episodes. The old ones are all so good I can rewatch them many times while waiting 👍👍💖💖

Love how Tom yells after it was corrected to being a watermelon eating contest. Whether it was a callback to the episode where Tom's dad was a watermelon or just him being shocked that he ate sand for nothing, his shock was funny either way

I like Tom's new t-shirt design; it's a nice ode to TomSka while sharing the same format as the "Stay Safe" asdf face shirt. The original asdf reference may be lost, but I'm pretty sure some other asdfmovie references are gonna slip into newer Eddisodes. Love the new Eddisode, by the way!
9:05 I love the attention to detail they give here, because in the eddisode "25 feet under the sea" it reveals a lot about Tom's life when it's flashing before his eyes, in one scene of that it shows that a watermelon was his father. It's pretty clear why he says "the WHAT!?!?" with this in mind
ive watched this video a few times and i love looking for the little details the animators add in because they're so good. One of my favorite little details is the portrait behind their couch where there's 4 people, but the one with a red shirt's face is torn off, which is most likely (character) Tord. Understandably so. I would be pretty peeved if someone I thought was my friend tried to blow me up with a giant robot.
Another more obvious thing I really enjoy is how there’s a poster advertising the fun-petition earlier on in the episode during the part with the scientist. The attention to detail here is crazy
I tried to find things in this episode also but I couldn’t find much other than the picture you pointed out, 4:34 in the sewer there’s a “no Easter egg loser” with a red marking over it, 2:02 the red spikes on the jabbas huts, these next three are VERY far fetched. 1:22 beside the cut out picture there’s a smaller yellow one which looks like tord and Ed but with cut out faces over them, 9:58 the two spikes the barrel gets trapped in looks like his horns (Complete stretch I know) and the whole boat scene with sticky notes everywhere on the ship, there was also sticky notes on the plane in the snorge episode that Paul Patrick and tord are ejected from
I love this! after 8 months we finally get this masterpiece! the humor is not only like the old videos before edd died, but it also feels nicely modern. awesome!

Glad to find someone else is talking about this, like the oil-substance stuff is the same in this and the Easter video. And I'd LOVE if they used this to make some kind of throwback for Tom/monster Tom, but I doubt they would because the fandom would probably go berserk

I like Tom's new t-shirt design; it's a nice ode to TomSka while sharing the same format as the "Stay Safe" asdf face shirt. The original asdf reference may be lost, but I'm pretty sure some other asdfmovie references are gonna slip into newer Eddisodes.

9:05 I love the attention to detail they give here, because in the eddisode "25 feet under the sea" it reveals a lot about Tom's life when it's flashing before his eyes, in one scene of that it shows that a watermelon was his father. It's pretty clear why he says "the WHAT!?!?" with this in mind
ive watched this video a few times and i love looking for the little details the animators add in because they're so good. One of my favorite little details is the portrait behind their couch where there's 4 people, but the one with a red shirt's face is torn off, which is most likely (character) Tord. Understandably so. I would be pretty peeved if someone I thought was my friend tried to blow me up with a giant robot.
Another more obvious thing I really enjoy is how there’s a poster advertising the fun-petition earlier on in the episode during the part with the scientist. The attention to detail here is crazy
as someone who has never seen this series other than this episode, that last sentence scares me.

I tried to find things in this episode also but I couldn’t find much other than the picture you pointed out, 4:34 in the sewer there’s a “no Easter egg loser” with a red marking over it, 2:02 the red spikes on the jabbas huts, these next three are VERY far fetched. 1:22 beside the cut out picture there’s a smaller yellow one which looks like tord and Ed but with cut out faces over them, 9:58 the two spikes the barrel gets trapped in looks like his horns (Complete stretch I know) and the whole boat scene with sticky notes everywhere on the ship, there was also sticky notes on the plane in the snorge episode that Paul Patrick and tord are ejected from
I love this! after 8 months we finally get this masterpiece! the humor is not only like the old videos before edd died, but it also feels nicely modern. awesome!

Como amo lo que Matt Hargreaves esta haciendo con Eddsworld, tiene tanto la escencia del eddsworld original pero al mismo tiempo tiene su toque unico, de verdad me encanta, cada etapa de la serie es tan buena y unica a su manera. la etapa de Tomska estaba enfocada en desarrollar a Tom, pero ahora Matt tiene su momento de brillar tambien.
