    I’ve been using CamAPS with the Ypsopump since January 2023 and find the combination outstanding! My last A1C was 5.1!

      interesting - any tip to make it work efficiently (target glucose or else) ? We have tried it but quickly gave up because it was not "agressive" enough, leading to long periods with high blood sugar, way more than with our manual corrections... our APS trainer told us we d never reach our current time in range with a loop system so we stopped.

    I was diagnosed in 1992 in the state of Louisiana and in that year there was only 2 pump companies. 1) Minimed for regular use 2) Diastolic was the pump for those who are active and very much into wet sports. If you were mostly in water stuff that was the pump company for you. I chose Minimed because they said in 5-10 years they hope to have a sensor that talked to your pump. They knew they would have a sensor but the other part was farther along.
    Funny how she said Dystronic person was where it started.
    Love this. Excited as a Tandem pump user to try it.

    I am using CamAPS with Ypsopump, it is great! I really like the Pumpcart prefilled insulin cartridges and the small size (and being waterproof) of Ypsopump (made in Switzerland). It can fit in the coin pocket of jeans. I used to use Medtronic and Omnipod pumps, this is so much better.

Or can I keep CGM on my IPhone and run the algorithm app through the android handset? I like to se my blood sugar alerts on my watch which is synced to my Iphone…!

      That's true.
      Most European countries are Welfare Societies.
      This way to manage our GDP is regard as "communism" by half american citizens. You know that citizen vote for a pachyderm ...
      As a French guy I'm lucky to benefit free Ipsopump, free Dexcom, free CamAPS FX (only the licence is more than 100€ each month...) and free insulin BUT we do not vote for politicial people who thinks health is matter of good or bad luck and wealthy people MUST NOT pay for poor TD1.
      It cost a lot to our society but it's our vision of humanity.
      NO Republican TD1 voter has to complain about diabet cost !
      Do not vote for SELFISH people !
      Is my post political ? Yes because the way you vote, the way you are entitled OR NOT to complain about Diabete in USA.... ;)

    Why is the algorithm tied to certain pumps and cgms? The algorithm should publish an API framework and then the hardware vendors should see to it that their cgms and pumps conform to the API by applying for approval from the developers of the algorithm. This avoids the lag when it comes to dependent hardware and allows the user to take advantage of new hardware improvements as they get released to the public. Personally, I'm not impressed. How about coming up with gene therapy that tells my pancreas to create new insulin-producing beta cells that won't get attacked by my immune system? Then you'll have my attention. This just kicks the can down the road and offers no curative value at all.

    • @andrewwampler6806
      @andrewwampler6806 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HalStaniloff you can use Android APS and use a Medtronic 640 or another dated pump. It will take a lot of effort on your part and if something goes wrong there will be no helpline or support. CamAPS is willing to work with any pump manufacturer or CGM and this is mainly restricted by regulatory bodies.

    • @docemmettbrown3750
      @docemmettbrown3750 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think your comment is problematic because the act of creating a better pump doesn’t mean there’s somehow a reduction in the research that’s being undertaken in gene therapy. The two aren’t linked like that - there’s still a lot of research underway right now that looks quite promising. As someone with a diabetic family member who uses a pump, this technology is life changing and makes the wait for a proper cure so much more bearable day to day, and also allows them to live healthier lives with more time in range. So yeah, I’m impressed at a technology that can dramatically improve the quality of life of people with T1D while also giving them significantly improved health outcomes. Pretty amazing, actually!

      No one talks about them because they simply don't work. Anything that says, for example, "smart watch for measuring blood sugar" will actually say "attempting to estimate blood glucose" if you read the articles. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable using something like that for making dosing decisions.
