If I were recording a list of measurements, and working to thousandths of a millimeter, I'd write it like this:- 1.233mm 0.331mm 1.130mm 2.225mm 5.120mm I certainly wouldn't write it like this:- 1.233mm 0.331mm 1.13mm 2.225mm 5.12mm And I definitely wouldn't leave off the 0 before the decimal point, as in .331mm. That would make it messy, and difficult to follow.
