I have applied in this term(ie Fall 2023), so observations from my experience is to keep at least 9+ for MSCS. I don't know for other fields.

Edit: but 9+ is a must to get in there considering your university is tier 2/3.

​@@nisargthakkar9098 I think USC is giving spring admits to the people who have applied for fall at this point. Because I got a response last Friday for spring but I had applied for fall.
And am now confused on whether to go ahead with it or not since my other options are CU Boulder and UT Dallas which are for Fall.

@@KarthikKannan01 hey, I also got a spring deferral 2 weeks back. I am going ahead with it.
I got NYU Tandon MSCS for this fall. It was a tough choice for me but USC seemed far better to me.
In your case too USC will be the best choice right? As long as you convince yourself for a spring semester over fall.

I have a question, If a university is offering a course named 'Bachelors in Computer Science' and Data Science as major, will it teach us about Data Science or Computer Science? Because CS requires more coding and DS requires less. Hoping for an answer soon.

No nothing involves less coding. But in US, you can choose which courses you want to take and hence drive your own degree.
