I've thought that in several areas of West Cumbria the Council seems not to be pulling its weight, an example .... Frizington high street or whatever its called as we drive through ie the absurd 'turf accountant' needs 'seen to' ASAP but also the wonderful Frizington council building (now derelict) is an utter gem of red sandstone, this should be listed and made good ASAP, surely can be turned into something useful. The architect? Come on Council, get lively, provide useful input!
It's the same all over the UK. City and town centres are dying and wonderful buildings are decaying beyond repair while councils seem to just watch. I understand they have limited funds though.
I stayed in Whitehaven this year while on a motorcycle trip from Northern Ireland to the Lake District. I felt that the town has been forgotten, so many closed down shops, some decaying infrastructure. The whole town needs a lick of paint. I think in its day it would have been a thriving place with a fantastic night life. A very historical town steeped in rich history.. What happened to Whitehaven??
Totally agree with you Shell. You ought to try living in Pica village! There's f*** all there, no shops, no busses running, miles from anywhere, everyone seemed pissed off. Moved to Whitehaven & lived there for 2 years but so glad I got out of West Cumbria altogether it's the worst place I've ever lived.
HARE KRSNA❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
Has the local council/Councillors given up the ghost with Whitehaven…..They should be ashamed of themselves
