I am a Red Sox fan and I have to say Derek Jeter is one of the ,if not,the classiest ballplayer I have ever seen play the game of baseball. After this season,I don't think anyone can duplicate his classiness. Thank you Mr. Jeter.

I'm a Sox fan too, obviously this was before Schilling joined the team, the shot flashing to him in the dugout, like it was 1993 after Mitch Williams ate it, priceless. This was an incredibly fun series to watch. The best team won, the loser probably had the best WS performance of any team not to win it.

The end of game 4 and 5 was truly a miracle. Too bad it was not enough. I think that if they won game 7, that Yankee team would have been the greatest Yankee team ever because of what was happening in NY. The city going through all that it did and still winning the world series.

So many amazing yankee memories back then and this particular year is amazing and these games they won are amazing.

I remember this series like it was yesterday. It meant so much to the city after 9/11 even without winning the series they still lifted our spirits at a time we needed it the most. It would have been nice if New York won that year but I think the series being behind and then tied the series the back and fourth played out perfectly even without the fairytale ending that year. I remember that summer how great and beautiful it was then the fall hit and it was like a different world. Depressing dark emotional. It was like you can feel the change in the world from one season to another before and right after 9/11. People always say pre 9/11 was just a better world but you felt that change immediately

Maybe the single most epic moment in baseball history. Midnight. First ever batter in November, ever. 9/11. Yankees coming back on Oakland from 2-0 then Arizona from 2-0. Brosius the next night might be the only moment that rivals it.

Why? He speaks loud and clear. He Doesn't try to be funny and giggle. He calls the game as it happens. Most other announcers don't call the play because they drone on about current events or some crappy story. Joe Buck is good. He isn't a legend like Milo or Vin, but he does a good job. He also says positive things about both teams and remains neutral. He's very professional and puts in a great effort. I just don't get the hate.

Schilling was another ped abuser. I've gotten to see 5 championships in my life. I'll gladly take that over Arizona' one.

I watched the Joe Buck call (this one) and immediately watched the Kay/Sterling call. I like Buck, but he sucked at conveying the excitement here.

curragh 42 I didn’t say that there were no steroids on the Yankees, just that there were plenty on the Diamondbacks too. The Yankees had more players mentioned in the Mitchell report because the report was based on the testimony of a Yankees employee in large part, fool. It took the D-Backs a 9th inning comeback in game 7 to win the World Series, after Schilling gave up the go-ahead homer, so what is this domination of which you speak?
