Day 1 of requesting a classical game between Stjepan and Antonio Radić (of the Agadmator Chess Channel)
Reasons why I think they should play:
    - Both are from Croatia
    - Both have amazing chess channels
    - Both have about the same rating
    - Both could make an analysis video
    - I love them both

18:16 - wouldn't Ng4 instead of Ne8 create complications for white? The queen can't take because your rook is hanging then with tempo, and Qe1 or Qe2 to defend the pawn hangs either the d3 bishop or the a1 rook.
Thank you for your hard work as usual.

i dont think it would work coz what im thinking is: f3 or h3 to get rid of the knight, the knight then takes on e5 coz nh6 doesnt make sense, the bishop could then take on h7 with check with an idea of qh5. so black's position will just fall apart. @Hanging Pawns, could you please show your insights on this?!

I was 600 in chess.com last July. Got interested in chess pretty late. I knew all the rules earlier, but was moving pieces randomly before that.
Now I'm around 1800 in lichess (think it'll be around 1500 in chess.com) - might be a bit different since I haven't played rated games for 3 months (I was taking my rating very seriously and it made me lose my head - so I decided to play casual for sometime). I didn't play chess very intensely, but I think I can tell u what to do.
      1. Play a lot.
      2. Analyse with engine to correct your mistakes.
      3. Watch TH-cam videos.
      4. Do tactical puzzles and practice endgames with engine (easily available online)
You should get much better very quick.
My username is Josin007 on both sites.

    • @Algolxxxxxx
      @Algolxxxxxx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@josin007 Those are excellent ways to improve. What worked for me was being able to identify tactical targets in chess positions better. This happened through the vigorous study of tactics in books and online which improves your pattern recognition. This in turn helps you trim Kotov's 'tree of analysis' - to not waste time analysing dubious or dead end variations that don't lead anywhere. You only calculate the most promising ones based on patterns you've seen before.
Using computers to analyse your game is definitely recommend but must be applied with caution. Computers do get it wrong and can lead you astray. The problem with computers is they're playing "computer chess" and not human chess. They'll often recommended a line which happens to be the strongest line but only if you're a machine. The length and mind-boggling amount of tactical potential pitfalls for both sides - means you shouldn't play it. Yes, it might be technically the strongest line but it requires inhuman play and from you to drift from your plan. This isn't much of a concern I suppose if you're sub 1600 level. The best moves are the ones that are simple and practical. The ones you understand, ones that place pressure on the opponent causing them to blunder.
