These people have strength and dignity. They aren't asking for or expecting a handout. They haven't given up and gotten lost in the bottle or drugs. They are busting their @$$ to eat and feed their families. This type of people deserve the utmost respect.

This has been a dream of people in the clothing business. Recycling cloth is very hard because the fiber lengths are very short. Those are open end spinning frames just like I learned on.

It is amazing that they are able to keep those 100 + year old machines running. The owner of that mill should be ashamed of the working conditions of his people, and the complete lack of safety equipment and PPE. A place like that would have been shut down long ago in the USA.
The conditions inside that clothing plant were insane. In the old mills in the 1950's UK a variety of diseases were prevalent due to inhalation of the airborne fluff. Enphocaemia, Cancer, Asbestos, Carders lung, etc. And don't get me on about the unguarded nip points on the machinery.

(To get long fibres to weave in to yarn ) the mecanical disassembly process tears of fibers making the yarn that is made from it less strong) Polyester and plastic fabrics can be melted and re casted / blown/ extruded into fibers , if the material is free from other fibers.
It seems they mix all textile without regard to fiber origin or colour mixing nylon lycra cotton and wool polyester etc. makes for a very strange textil fiber mix with very uncontrolled behaviour when making yyarn for new stuff washing , and wear resistans. In western contrys this kind of wild textil resuse mixes are used in car interior panels* and sound damping matts *together with resin to bound the fibers
I'm sure there's NEVER been any kind of accident with that first machinr, the chopper, with all the exposed chains and belts and sprockets and feed wheels that the guy wearing loose cloyhing pushes loose clothing toward the spinning grabber very close to by hand, and I'm sure those accidrnts haven't been absolutely horrific.

That fiber is very itchy. I’ve work in the cloth weaving factory and we were using not recycled cotton yarns. We use air pressure to get rid of the fiber on our body and face.
Pick it up, carry it yo the shredder, throw it on the ground. Pick it up, feed it to the shredder, let it land on the ground. Pick it up, carry it to the corner, throw it on the ground. Then finally..pick it up, throw it onto a sheet, tie it in a bundle. So why not sort it, throw it onto a sheet, drag it to the shredder, place another sheet under the shredder, run the clothes through the shredder onto the sheet, then bundle it when it is full and save half of the work you are doing?
@neilfurby555 I guess. The inefficiency of it makes me crazy. Still, it seems of you could make your cheap labor efficient you wouldn't need as much of it. Not a huge deal with cloth but I see it done with steel manufacturing. It is literally tons of pointless lifting and moving every day.

why not to use a stick to push garments under drum knife. The drum can easily chop hands

Pick it up, carry it yo the shredder, throw it on the ground. Pick it up, feed it to the shredder, let it land on the ground. Pick it up, carry it to the corner, throw it on the ground. Then finally..pick it up, throw it onto a sheet, tie it in a bundle. So why not sort it, throw it onto a sheet, drag it to the shredder, place another sheet under the shredder, run the clothes through the shredder onto the sheet, then bundle it when it is full and save half of the work you are doing?
Unlimited cheap labour trumps any consideration of efficiency or safety. Clearly the "if it works" school of engineering !
@neilfurby555 I guess. The inefficiency of it makes me crazy. Still, it seems of you could make your cheap labor efficient you wouldn't need as much of it. Not a huge deal with cloth but I see it done with steel manufacturing. It is literally tons of pointless lifting and moving every day.

Very cool about the clothes recycling but I didn’t see any washing of the colleges, it looked like it just got chopped up and processed.

I guess safety isn’t a concern in these factories. And yet we are all horrified when one of them catches on fire or collapses.
