    Really nice meeting you John, had good time with you...when I left, just down the street, I was sitting at a stop light, and here was this old man, 80's I think, dirty clothing, and a sign that said "hungry' and he looked hungry, walking with a bad limp, so I rolled down the window and gave him 10 bux..wow, he did a little dance!. Made my day...

      It's a grand thing to share. I usually like to offer them a meal. It's better than giving cash. So many living with a bottle and no food! `Have to remember we are accountable for our acts, and when we support others in error! Giving a nice meal and even some extra food to go would be more than worth it for that day!. You never know where your money is getting used!!!

    You sure are easy to get along with JBG. $50 = 2 or 4 pallets .Wow . I know your company has built in lumper rates but dang i end up paying it at check-out(grocery store) . What a great country . Owned by Walmart and Buffet !! Happy Sailing BTW !!

    That happens to me sometimes. I get a beautiful set up, come in, and just can't get lined up without several pull ups. I send a message to dispatch to add money to my card, fill out the check , call to record it, and that's it. That's a heck of a process you have.

    4:00 on is the most helpful view of backing a trailer I have ever seen! It's true POV of the driver! Btw, is it becoming common place for trucks to be automatic or is it still rare?

    • @williamlopez411
      @williamlopez411 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most companies are going to automatics because it is cheaper on there insurance. They still train you on a manual but automatic is the way now.

    So sad . You get paid while the wheels turn . Yet you worked for over 3 hours at that place. You were away from home sitting in a truck with the keys so you were legally in care of the truck which means you were doing more work then a security guard still for over 3 hours you get paid zero dollars. Things need to change. The drivers should be paid for the time they have to sit and wait and for the time away from home.

    • @semiretired6033
      @semiretired6033 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And he has to pay 50$ so they can unload THEIR load. Its their stuff but the carrier has to pay to get it unloaded off their trailer,.How does that make any scense.These Food whrs's are all a bunch of fucken crooks. And the carriers just let it happen. They get paid while the driver doesn't.

    • @genericwhitemale1114
      @genericwhitemale1114 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming you still don't know, a lumper fee is a fee that truckers pay to have freight taken off their trailer. So like I went to McLane, they will charge me x amount of dollars to have their frieght taken off my trailer. Bit of a scam. I refuse loads that go to warehouses with lumpers.

    Why do we pay the reciever to unload their own freight? Good Question. Well In America We get paid to haul freight. Then we pay someone to unload it. The shipper covers the cost of the unloading. The shipper adds the cost of unloading to the cost of the product to the reciever. Therefore the product costs more and the extra cost is passed on to the consumer. This is what we call corporate responsibility. Making sure everyone makes money except the one who does the work.

    I back to a dock that was different angle than the building I had to pull up about the same. that's p.a. for you. I had to be escorted in because of residential area, bad directions. pick up a load insulation. I see houses I'm not just going in. Here's a free one if you go with in 50 mile of Canada in Montana to pick up Amish furniture by GPS stay on the pavement. best load I ever did had three stops one in Los Vegas and two in Texas by way of the Rio Grande river Texas border.

      According to the Motor Carrier Act of 1980 (Section 15), it's a federal offence to coerce delivery drivers to use a lumper service. Seemingly, it's supposed to be optional.
      The guy basically assessed the bill of lading, the load, and told him the cost.

    • @AndrewHaverson
      @AndrewHaverson 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That guy based on rates their boss gives them. And the delivery company is paying the lumper service to unload the load at the delivery location. The lumper gets paid a small wage based on that.

    • @mlwtennessee322
      @mlwtennessee322 9 ปีที่แล้ว
