I’d imagine this would be useful for actually mixing other people’s music when they send you stems with shitty kicks. Not fully replacing the drum but only part of it kind of keeps the essence of the original while making it “slap”
Yeah it is also good for going back to old stuff in a discog and "remastering" it. I've got some real badly mixed and mastered trash from 10 years ago that this thing has done wonders on.
The amazing thing about this is that you can even use it on basses and other sounds that utilise a strong transient. This is especially the case with tearout when making machine gun basses.
A plugin that creates a full song with one click, posts it on streaming services, promotes it until the song becomes a global hit and sends milions of dollars to your bank account.
this is sick af bro, well done miss the mentioned "tighten" function so much from ableton since switching to bitwig. cannot wait to play with this beauty
Get SLAP here: yum-audio.com/Slap-by-MrBill Sick & tired of having to go to ridiculous lengths to make your drums SLAP!? Well, look no further, I spent the last few years developing a plug-in with Yum Audio called SLAP to fix this exact problem. SLAP detects the transients of the incoming audio, then has the ability to replace the first x ms of said audio with a factory click sample (or any sample) of your choosing. It is also a multi-fx unit with a focus on drum processing carefully designed to add punch, and slap to your tracks.
Definitely gonna cop this! Between Slap and DECAP drums that Knock ! Don't need anything else ... compartmentalized in the secret weapons . Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your techniques MR. BILL
I wish somebody would make an oscilloscope like wave candy, but with a buffer so you can drag and drop wav files from it. There is an application made by BIRDS, but it doesn’t have any utility features. If you could apply effects within that buffer window, you could continuously manipulate sounds and drag and drop. That would be great. Also if it had timing scales built in and adjust loop points, and make it so you can’t hear the audio going in , but only the audio coming out, maybe with 1 to 199 cells with over dub and solo/mute buttons. Just say 4 bar max per cell, once that records , it jumps to the next cell, but if you mute the next cell, it will jump back and continuously play the previous cell. And an erase button, that erases over dubs one at a time.
To guarantee that transient comes in on the beat I'm guessing we need a look ahead? Definitely not a dealbreaker I'm just wondering what the latency is? in general I like to keep everything as low latency as possible a.k.a. under adding 5 ms as I usually can't get away with the I/O buffer under 15 ms without under runs. For a lot of you This won't matter as you're clicking the stuff in but I like to play things in so leaving it available for tracking is important to me.
This is really interesting. I know you have been doing it the long way for quite awhile now. If you design & endorse a plugin it must be good, and practical. Nice work!
Brilliant! When I saw that initial video about replacing the transient with something else, I thought that it actually could be turned into a plugin and be useful for certain situations. And now you release one with Yum, nice!
Hey there Bill, Awesome creation! I just wanted to ask, is the sub effect module adding an actual sub oscillator waveform or achieving the extra sub through a kind of EQ? cheers man
When Bill cursers over the plugin Live indicates that the plugin has 443 samples (10ms) of latency. I would imagine zero latency is quite difficult as there would be some lookahead required to replace transients in real-time. 10ms is pretty decent.
I have some of your projects that I downloaded and it says that I'm missing several vsts that I have on my hard drive... I don't understand why ableton doesn't recognize them
@Mr. Bill , Hi I've just purchased SLAP which is an amazing plugin thanks. I run only on Linux OS and the plugin runs 100% perfect. My question is regarding the License, I notice that there is a limit of 2 activations, does this mean that I can run it on a maximum of 2 machines at any given time, but if I reinstall my OS,for example, then I can just activate on the new install ?. I distro hop quite a bit and also have multiple different Linux installations. Thanks :)
Ah I actually RTFM in the support section of Yum Audio, I now understand that I can deacivate/activate the online license in the plugin directly, allowing me to work on different installs. pretty cool feature.
Gonna be make for making Stab Hits etc.... 4king awesome, will you increase the layer numbers per sound, like 4 layers , with eg 2 kiks, a midtone and a sub ...
I just purchased this plugin but I can’t use it because for some reason the GUI is huge and I cannot resize it. When I click on the YUM Audio logo I can’t get to the part on the screen where it allows me to resize it. What do I do? I tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it but it doesn’t change the size. Help please!
Looks awesome. Will save a bunch of time and the interface is super slick. The transient replace/layer controls alone are worth the price. The additional sound design controls are ace. Being able to quickly doo all the things I usually do but in the same window will allow me to possibly actually finish songs. Then being able to save presets and load them up... whew. I'll have so much more time to feed stray cats in my neighborhood.
Instabuy! 🙏
Secret level unlocked 🥳🥳

That's honestly a very useful idea that I would have not thought of on my own.
Yeah it is also good for going back to old stuff in a discog and "remastering" it. I've got some real badly mixed and mastered trash from 10 years ago that this thing has done wonders on.
Tbf a good compressor and multi-band processing will fix that issue too.,
@@basspuppy133 yeah but this is more convenient.
its just a plugin that gives you a massive nose piercing
Yes and the pro version gives you a d*ng piercing
if u know where else he has a piercing then ur an og fan

Still listening to Phantasmagoria constantly, one of the greatest albums ever made, dead serious. Thank you so much for what you do. 👍
100% agree

so true, what a good hint!
A plugin that turns your loop into a full arrangement
Classic.
surely with how ai is going now this is completely feasible
A plugin that creates a full song with one click, posts it on streaming services, promotes it until the song becomes a global hit and sends milions of dollars to your bank account.
There is one developed by Dylan
There is! Check Dylan Tallchief
The plugin is just incredible. I can literally put it on anything to beef up. Big respect to the Yum Audio developers! Excellently done 👍
The UI and having the oscilloscope is so sick. So convenient, especially for daws that aren't as modular
It’s great!
Fk yeah, stoked you dig, man :D
Now THIS is an endorsement. Really excited to try this it looks special.
Great plugin mrbill..and the price is the most affordable....i have a feeling that you will invent and give us amazing tools in the future.💚🙏
Besides it's full-packed drum goodizer stuff, I really like the interface design.
Same. It's good to have something nice to look at when you're going balls deep in sound design for hours.
Just bought it. Love it. Thanks Yum Audio and Mr. Bill.
this is sick af bro, well done
miss the mentioned "tighten" function so much from ableton since switching to bitwig.

is there a time limit on this deal im fckin broke rn but i need it so bad LOL
This plugin is brillant! Easily replaces 5-6 separate processors, really fast workflow and it sounds great.
Gonna put slap on my master track
Congrats on the new plugin!!
Definitely gonna cop this! Between Slap and DECAP drums that Knock ! Don't need anything else ... compartmentalized in the secret weapons . Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your techniques MR. BILL
The noise feature really makes it shine. The other plugin they have that has a lemon on it is bad ass as well as the Grater.

This plug in is gonna speed up my workflow so much omg
Too funny I'm sitting there last night making drum presets for serum then Mr. Bill introduces this. Nice bro.
Mr. Bill is actually the reason I first discovered Veil of Maya around 2013
cool to see you dropped a plugin

I tested it, it adds 10 ms of latency (443 samples).
@@wowland6873 thanks! On the edge !
You could use it to make kicks and then use them as samples in a drum rack
Wow, this is a pretty comprehensive plug-in. Gonna have to bag this soon and test it out
Bagged ;)
@@ashenpall Are you enjoying it? Find much use for it in your own projects?
@@MeetShah97 yup, pretty incredible. It’s my go to for drum processing now. Use it a lot when synthesizing snares and kicks
this is amazing. awesome work!! big love to Bill and the YUM team, excited to play with this
plugin looks so good! only thing i wish it had was a reverse button for the sample input.
regardless its an amazing plugin and the UI is 👌👌
This is really interesting. I know you have been doing it the long way for quite awhile now. If you design & endorse a plugin it must be good, and practical. Nice work!
Very awesome plug in Bill!! I love the Mefjus reference!!
Ooooooh!!! That's actually a really creative alternative to a transient designer...I like it! Gonna cop it straight away :)
As an aside...I feel like there's a market for an entire range of plugins that do some of your Mr Bill tricks automatically...
I love how you explain it so good
Time saver plug-in!!!
I know how to do most of this stuff in Ableton already, but having it in one plugin seems super useful and time-saving. Easy buy for the price.
Looks great man. Instantly usable and useful set of well thought out tools in a great interface. Winner 🏆
I already have ideas for rising the transient into a vocal drop as a riser. Well done mate!
Awesome idea!
Brilliant! When I saw that initial video about replacing the transient with something else, I thought that it actually could be turned into a plugin and be useful for certain situations. And now you release one with Yum, nice!
Hey Dadda, I'd imagine you would use this for psytrance quite creatively!
so it technically can just be used as a full on trigger as well? Cause then it's the most versatile trigger on the market. Good looks Bill!
Oh thats a great tool and great ui!
track at 1:08 ? xD
another plug in.....or space rocket eargasm confetti maker?....we better feel like going to confession when its inserted.
Holy shit i need this
The one problem ive been running into is lack of drum samples i like, and this solves the shit outta that
Brilliant and fresh design for a plugin! GG Bill!
Props for coming up with something new.
Excellent work. Wouldn't expect anything less from you. Who doesn't want to slap?
Hey there Bill, Awesome creation! I just wanted to ask, is the sub effect module adding an actual sub oscillator waveform or achieving the extra sub through a kind of EQ? cheers man
great plugin, love it
Nice work Bill 🤘
theres no randomize button 😭
What about latency? Usually envelope follower plugins like these generate quite some latency. How about Slap?
I second this question
When Bill cursers over the plugin Live indicates that the plugin has 443 samples (10ms) of latency. I would imagine zero latency is quite difficult as there would be some lookahead required to replace transients in real-time. 10ms is pretty decent.
None!!!
How does this compare to Knock, is one better than the other or are they both great if used together
Really really great work! This plugin is fantastic 🥊

Interesting stuff would start when u use it the "wrong way" and just throw your samples in there just for layering in cool ways
Gonna be make for making Stab Hits etc.... 4king awesome, will you increase the layer numbers per sound, like 4 layers , with eg 2 kiks, a midtone and a sub ...
yeah I can see myself using this a lot, can see there is lots of potential for experimentation.
How I've missed this thing. Slate Trigger is distant past now.

a weird request, but could you figure out how to display your keypresses during your videos? would help with understanding shortcuts for workflow
