I've watched both of these incredibly gifted people through their careers and I'd have to guess they were BOTH at the top of their game in this performance. When Patty comes in with, as Vince says, "that pure eastern Kentucky voice", I just get goosebumps as a backup singer myself. Power and sweetness at the same time. She's a truly gifted giant. Old time country music with strong vocal harmonies and crying steel guitar. It doesn't get much better. What I recall from many decades ago when I was growing up long before Patty and Vince revived it. My uncle used to listen to this kind of music back when i was a kid.
