I suggest, when starting the fire, closing the door more and opening the chamber more. That will help the draft and help warm up the chamber because you're not letting ass much heat out of the door.

In case anyone watching this, and gives a crap, I made a simple spritz with a mix of apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and orange juice. Might be a similar mix that Cuban pig roasters use. Anyway, it is magnificent on pork ribs and I plan on using it on my next brisket.

Yeah it broke at the weld , the builders have been great and have offered to cover any costs associated with the fix. No complaints

Yes they were very helpful and would have paid all of the costs for repair but I ended up selling this pit before I repaired it
