I spent the first 23 years of my life in Maltby. Born in 1969. Mixed feelings about Maltby. Great video.

Thanks for this Joshua. The town where I was born and grew up ♥
As a town, it had its good times, and then the Mine closed, and it deteriorated badly. Growing up there were some lovely people, but it could also be a jungle. Maltby Comp was tough tough tough, and a night out always had the risk of getting involved in bother. Some genuine hardcases were out and about, and they couldn't take their ale without looking for a fight. I recall many occasions after a night time session, sat on the Don John steps with mates smoking a ciggy, watching the latest primetime bout take place on the street below. Happy times.
Lastly, I won't say which one, but one of these gentlemen is a lifelong friend of my Dad.

Well done Joshua, I like the way you just let them recall naturally.

Good job! As an American Maltby I wondered if there's a direct link to my branch of the family. I figure there must be. After all, my great grandfather was blown up in a coal mine explosion just like Bill's grandfather. Even if not, it's still a good watch.

Incestual place, as were a lot of the old mining towns. Hardest grafters going but it's well known in S.Y what was going off.
