Been watching many, (-too many) survival tin videos. Yours is the first I've heard "what works for you" 👍

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I do feel such topics are unique to the user. While some items are universal, not everyone has the background to efficiently use each item effectively. Enjoy Your Outdoors! Jeff.

My two favorite ideas you had were the duct tape wrapped around a ferro rod, and the bobbin spool with the snare wire, bank line, and spider wire wrapped around it! It saves a lot of space in those little tins by doing that! I'd probably keep another ferro rod in there, and save the wrapped one as a backup. Excellent tin kit bud!

Thanks Daniel. I usually carry my primary ferro rod on my sheath but this extra rod is ideal. Can always carve a handle in the field. Yes, bobbin holds more than expected and a variety works well until you need an inner layer first...lol. Thanks.

I love bug out bags. Mine weighs 135 pounds. I can't lift it but that's ok. I know I'll never need to bug out!!

Nice presentation on your kit ideas. If you are interested, maybe consider using the straws that you put your tinder and purification tabs to put your lures in also? Less likely to lose lures or end up with one in your hand when going through a half full kit. I've ended up with a hook in the hand on occasion when fishing, so I get a bit nervous around open sharp stuff in my kits, lol. Have a great day.

The paper and pencil are only good for your own personal notes, or for tinder. Those post its are two small to be noticed by anyone and subject to be blown away by wind. That arrow head is only good for making a spear. You make an arrow with it, take a shot with it, and you miss and it goes off into the undergrowth, then it's lost forever. Should pack any signaling devices at the top since the first 72 hours after first being reported missing is when the most intensive search and rescue efforts will be made. I would much rather having an actual whistle than try to fashion one out of some sticks. That mirror being affixed to the bottom of the tin means you'd have to dump out all the contents before you could signal anyone. Also ruins the functionality of the tin itself for making charcloth, cooking, and even boiling water.

You do share some good tips. Thanks for watching. Many situations can arise that could affect one's survival kit choices, uses, interpretations, and proficiencies. Let's keep educating others to not find themself in that situation and if they do, have the skills to be able to use the items they actually add to their own survival tins. Cheers.

Honesty not sure. Think just a pocket/key chain tool stamped with Allied Chemical. Good luck with yours.
