Hey Mark! The rules leave more situations to interpretation than I'm used to but as long as you apply the same judgement whenever those situations arise there's a fun game here. Though I can't fault those who gave up on it, those situations can be frustrating when you run into them. It's a shame this wasn't more tight when released.
@@clarkcommando1983 For me they didn't. I read the initial rules before looking at the 3rd revision which was probably a mistake. When I started looking at the revision it started giving me more questions so I just decided to plow through with the initial as my reference.
I tried to play this one and, as noted above, found the rules very under developed. Things were not helped by the designers unhelpful approach to answering queries. He often didn't respond but rather said that any confusion in the rules was either the players fault or that he didn't want to clarify so players could explore alternatives. It's sad as I do think there is a good game hidden in there. The map and components, in my opinion, are great but the lack of development and poor designer support made it a big disappointment.
Compass Games - www.compassgames.com/product/war-for-america-the-american-revolution-1775-1782/ I should have probably put that in the description. I'll try to remember to do that going forward.
I really want to get this to the table

@@rhysjohnson1224 Unfortunately, I've seen some of those responses.
Curious have you sent a list of questions to the designer ?
I've gathered what I could from his responses on BGG.
Who publishes this game?
