Thank you to everyone who posted, edited, spoke in, and otherwise contributed to this. This is day 1 of what seems like the millionth time I’ve tried to start a running habit, and I’ve never felt more confident that it might finally stick. But of course, I’ve been wrong before. The guy speaking at 15:00 especially hit me and almost had me getting emotional in mid-stride. As somebody who used to be suicidal, is still depressed, and often feels broken, it’s so amazing to hear somebody directly speaking to me and wanting me to succeed. Gonna be listening to this daily if I can get the habit to stick, and if so, I’ll be back to let y’all know down the road.
When I was younger I never understood why people ran, anytime I saw someone running early in the morning I used to think they were weird and asked why they would do that? Now that I’m older it all makes sense. The one thing that I’ve figured out is that anything you will ever do in your life will come down to your mindset and if you want to do great things you need a great mindset. Running/ weight lifting / any type of intense physical activity when you actually push yourself past the limits, you not only train your physical body but you train your mind as well. It learns that through hard work, and resistance, you can accomplish great things. I took up running, weightlifting, reading, gave up a bunch of bad habits that were only dragging me down and my life has become so much better, my vision has become more clearer, i’ve switched my career for a better one. It’s all about small progress, but you have to keep going, doesn’t matter how small the progress and how hard it gets, it pays dividends in the end, but you can not stop.
@@philipmanning3149 Thanks for commenting. I forgot I left this comment. There's no giving up here. I'm still running, lifting, reading, making more money. I have taken up meditation too. That has helped out a lot. If there's anything I can add from my experience so far is that progress and results aren't linear. There will be setbacks. You just have to make sure that when there are setbacks or you find yourself falling back into old habits to remind yourself of where you are trying to go. Also a huge key that I think is important that I have come to realize myself is to not get too caught up with trying to arrive anywhere too soon. So that you don't end up getting frustrated when time passes and you haven't hit your goals yet. It can be hard in our current generation because our attention span has been reduced to mere seconds. We have a hard time taking the long route and we always want the quick fix. So I would say learn to enjoy the process of what you do day in and day out. Teach your body and mind to enjoy challenges without the need to try and get anything out of it. Paradoxically, by not trying to get anything out of life but rather enjoying the process of work and growth you end up getting the results. In a few years, as long as you're pushing yourself, you'll look back and notice all the progress you've made. Also, journal. This way you can look back at your life and realize how far you've gone OR what mistakes you find yourself repeating and correct them. What our reason for doing what we do may not be clear. But I say, living a life of purpose has always made more sense to me then living a life that is stagnant and boring. So good luck my friend. Keep at it. Have fun. Enjoy life.
@Adrian16Z thanks for your advice man, ilk definitely follow it. Also Journaling does sounds like an amazing way to keep a progress check on myself. What do you do for work anyways? I just graduated and I'm trying to get a good paying job without going into debt, any suggestions?
@@philipmanning3149 Well, I never had the chance to continue school unfortunately so I worked a few odd jobs in the beginning. 5 years ago I met someone that introduced me to option trading and I've been trading ever since. I made the decision that that's what I wanted to focus on and I never looked back. It's hard for me to recommend anything because I don't really know your situation but even if I did I don't think giving you suggestions would help you because I strongly believe that any individual has to make that decision for themselves. BUT, as general advice I would say if you can keep going to school I would. Any career in tech, software, programming, etc.. is a good option. We are in the era of technology and I think it's only going to get bigger so if you can immerse yourself in that space you are on a good track. If school isn't an option there are many online things you can do like TH-cam automation, affiliate marketing, etc... but those are just quick money grabs and I really don' think they are sustainable in the long run. Another option is if you find yourself being really interested in a certain topic then go all in on it. For example I know a few people that got really into nutrition and they decided to dedicate their time to it. Eventually they managed to grow a following and now sell and provide nutrition plans for clients. There's many many ways to monetize any skill now a days. Lastly there is nothing wrong with getting into a trade. Example one of my buddies started out as a plumber right out of high school. Making very little, now he has his own business and has grown his company with multiple employees. Point, it comes down to what you find interesting. Don't try and copy others just because you think it'll make you money. You can make money doing anything if you enjoy doing it and learn how to grow and monetize. If you are unsure, write down a list of like 10 different things you think you would like doing. Then run scenarios one by one in your head and visualize what your life would look like 10years from now and if you think you'd enjoy doing it. There will usually be one or a few that really stand out to you. From there it's all about getting to work. If you need to find a temporary job to help pay for bills and stuff that's fine but keep trying other things as well. You'll never know where things will lead you so just keep trying.
I ran for 40years hot hit by a car 10. Months ago broke my pelvis in 2 places had to learn. To walk again but I may never run again running was my way of beating depression
Running again, nearly 5 year (2017) after my knee injury I’m able to return to the track. Can’t explain how truly happy I am. It a blessing to get up and start running
I’m not far into running. But I started running a mile in the beginning of June. I started with a 10 minute. My worst mile is a 12 min. And best is 8min no breaks. I never thought I’d get here even if it’s not much it’s better than nothing. You got this. Don’t give up! ❤
Beginner runner and just started running a little over a month ago.this video is my go to! Finally ran 3 miles in under 30 minutes. That was hard for me and my goal after reading these comments and listening to this video is to do 5k under 30 minutes. 🎉
“It’s not the distance you must conquer when running. It’s yourself.” Currently training for a half marathon and so we put together a video of some of the best speeches to listen to while training. Hope you like it as much as we do, let us know what you think!
I listened to this instead of my music this morning and I was able to slightly improve my run time which is significant considering I didn’t even want to run today !
Every time I lose motivation I always think of my goal and how I am going to get there. I’ve been body shamed for years now. I’m just seen as a “fat girl”. I’m tired of living like this. My mom is always telling me how fat I am and how I will “never” lose weight. Sometimes I come to think of it and it would hurt me so much. But now I’m not going to let that hurt me anymore. Now when I think of running I think of it as “pain” that takes away pain. When you run, you always think of “how far am I going to run” or “I’m so tired I want to stop” or “which direction am I supposed to go”. And all you see are roads surrounding you leading you to another place and another. It’s like while running you forget everything that’s going on around you. All the pain. All the stress. Everything. “Run for your life”. And I’m going to run. To survive :)
@@play-tae4199 it took me like 3 years to start running properly, my max is still only 6km, but I could barely run 3 mins at the beggining. just keep trying stuff and be active even for 10 mins a day is better than nothing, you can do it even if u fail sometimes, it's normal

It's sad Everyone from my graduating class except for like 3 people have totally let themselves go after getting married and having kids. I'm 27 and am in the best shape of my entire life and still improving. I guarantee I'm happier than most of those other people Yeah my relationship ended earlier this year Yeah I'm single again Yeah I haven't done a whole lot with my life yet but I'm happy And I'm pushing myself both mentally and physically
I for example not running in mainstream version, Im running sideways with doing jumpers on pavement next to street to go for example to shop or somewhere else, Im also walk backways on pavements but I need to look behind sometimes and run with hands stretched out to the rear or walk like warrior or soldier in crazy (or how do want to to look at it, for me I see it as normal but fun for example) way with knees lifted up. Its fantastic for me exercise for have 3 or 4 in 1, exercise to do something crazy I like and dont think what others think- beeing undependent, exercise for brain haha, having fun and also give fun to others and physical activenes, I recommend this 💪❤😉😊

I Can. I Will, I Must! Because I Am God 🙏🏽
No you’re not! Having such a belief is satanic. Lord Jesus Christ is God! Viva Cristo Rey! Peace!
This is my first video I visite from your channel and I want to thank you. Thank you very much for the motivation speech. Just when I think I can’t make it, the speech gives me some extra energy, energy what I couldn’t find to make it. It gives you the extra power you need to go trough the pain. People never give up! And fight for your goals. Even when you think you can’t make it, don’t give up and fight, and remember how much efforts you put on your goals!
It's sad
Everyone from my graduating class except for like 3 people have totally let themselves go after getting married and having kids.
I'm 27 and am in the best shape of my entire life and still improving. I guarantee I'm happier than most of those other people
Yeah my relationship ended earlier this year
Yeah I'm single again
Yeah I haven't done a whole lot with my life yet but I'm happy
And I'm pushing myself both mentally and physically

Thank you! Appreciate you!
I just started running but this helped me push. I needed to be pushed, push me!!!
