I would 100% sue them for the full moving cost plus the cost of left behind and damaged goods. They misrepresented themselves, having someone from Craig’s list is disgusting and unsafe. All the damaged property and left behind items is unacceptable. I would also report them to The Better Business Bureau. Don’t let them get away with this or they will continue to take advantage of others

Hi Michel. I am so sorry you had such a bad moving experience. I’ve been in the moving industry for 30+ years. It’s tough to pin down good movers. Your best option is get references from people that you know that have moved. No move goes perfect. Somethings don’t travel well and they do break but your damage is quite extensive and from what I’m seeing watching your TH-cam video right now definitely neglect by the crew in Texas. Absolutely file a claim. I am so sorry that this happened to you. There are some good movies out there and unfortunately people like whomever you used, give the entire profession a bad reputation. Another suggestion, is definitely write reviews on their website and yelp if you can. If you have a bad experience with a mover, you should definitely put the word out there.

I literally gasped when I saw the travertine table, and I kept saying "AHH" out loud whenever you showed other stuff that was broken and the things they told you and then lied about (6 months training versus the craig's list ad). Can't wait to see the decorating video! :)
I just have to say - I really applaud how HARD you are working to truly make this house a home for you and Jordy, and it is coming together wonderfully, despite that horrible company. You are making such a beautiful life, I hope it's everything you both dreamed of! Our movers packed and wrapped everything and drove 1,674 miles, and it was over 100 degrees, and not one thing broke. I hope things get resolved quickly. 🙏

I you have not gotten rid of the stone sidetable yet and you have all the pieces, you might want too look into Kintsugi, it's a japanese repair method where you put gold pigments in the glue that you repair ceramics with.

Michel my heart is literally broken for you as someone who just moved recently it’s so hard & incredibly stressful and I literally only moved 30 minutes away in the same state. Definitely file a claim for every single thing even if you don’t get nearly as much back. And also, please write a review or have Jordy write a review, mention all of the steps that you tried to take to prevent things from happening and what happened anyway. I am so sorry I don’t know if you got moving insurance but definitely something to look into for the future. Hugs 😩❤️
I never comment on videos but watching your moving experience just made me so sad. When I moved 500 miles I had a very similar experience, EVERY piece of furniture was damaged and I was just heartbroken. My furniture wasn’t expensive but it was all under a year old and I had to decide whether to keep damaged furniture or replace everything. If I had wanted all new furniture I would have sold my things and not spent thousands to move my stuff. I’m so sorry you had a similar experience, and I’m glad you shared it.
Always go with your gut. If you think it is too good to be true, it usually is. What a horrendous experience. Don't let them get away with it. As for the bureau, definitely align it with the wall and not your bed. Congratulations on your new home!

So sorry they broke so many of your practically new things. I have moved alot. I pack my own things & let movers load the trucks & unload. I only lost items that I trusted someone else to pack. Last year we moved from FL to SC. Our belongings were in pods for 4 months. Nothing was broken. Glass top tables, curio cabinets, our whole house.
My daughter moved from MI to Utah and paid movers $5000 for 15 boxes and a couple pieces of furniture. It all got there in one piece including a large round vintage mirror. I couldn't believe how expensive it was for how little they moved but at least it was undamaged. I think you could recreate the other half of the coffee table. You are very crafty. You could find someone to buff out the chips of your dinning room table, too. Make it look like new again. ❤

Michel! That moving company should face legal action, honestly. That's outrageous! Im so sorry about that and your poor shoulder! I've witnessed a lot of shoulder dislocations (my oldest son, both shoulders, seizures that destroyed the sockets) and know they are excruciating! Once we had to go to the hospital because one was stuck. I was amazed that you were still unpacking!!! I hope you get some rest, what an intense couple of days.
Ahhh Michel, I am so sorry! Not to pile on but I used Allegiance Moving and Storage for a similar distance move - and they were also awful, dishonest, and scammy. I could not overstate how horrible of an experience I had with them from start to finish - so everyone reading please please protect yourself!! I don't know why it's so difficult to find reliable movers these days, but thank you for the honest and open review!

I am sooo sorry this happened to you. We just moved from Seattle to Austin and after reading reviews, hearing horror stories, and talking to companies that seemed so scammy we opted to get a POD and load it ourself. It seemed like the only option which wasn’t a total scam. I pretty much have a negative opinion of all moving companies at this point. And I echo what everyone else says about getting your money back. Did you happen to pay by credit card? You might be able to do a charge back through the credit card company.
I'm so sorry about your terrible mover experience! I swear I have never heard a single person give a positive review of their experience with professional movers, but you are definitely was one of the worst I've heard. I have friends move from Oregon to Texas and it was a complete nightmare for them! They paid something like $15,000, and ended up not having their stuff for like 3 months and then lots of broken stuff and missing stuff and they got other people's stuff, too. I'm so impressed with how much you got done, especially with being injured! You have inspired me to do some organization around my house! Loving this moving series/time and excited to see how your decorations and general house stuff go!
You quite literally NEVER complain. You’re like my first born who would wait until she had a fever of 105 to say “I just don’t feel that great” so I always know that when she SAYS she doesn’t feel good she’s really really sick. It’s ok to share bad experiences. This was a horrible experience. It would have been better for you to just sell all your furniture in Austin because then you would have made $ and saved $. Center on the wall for sure. Loved the tulip lamp in the living space better, but if you spend more time in your office you'll enjoy it more there. :) I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with the movers...that would have made me absolutely LIVID!! We went with a moving company our realtor suggested, girl!! Every piece of furniture them guys moved has a nick in it!!! I was livid!! I keep forgetting to tell our realtor not to suggest them to anyone else because they really weren't worth the money we paid for them!!! I totally get you… last weekend I bronchitis while I was moving my apartment from Atlanta to Charleston… loaded my pod and a UHaul, filled those, and still had boxes, a bunch of cube shelves, boards, my chest freezer, my vibration machine, my metal shelves…so we had to come back this weekend to rent another UHaul and load the rest…oh and we are on the third floor… So I wish you all the best… hope your arm feels better quickly

This seems to be the common practice among moving companies. I just moved from CA to OR and literally the SAME thing happened to me! we were quoted a way lower price and then when they got to our house to load up the price sky rocketed by thousands of dollars and there is nothing you can do because you have to be out of the house! IT IS A CRIME! we ended up suing them, I think you should too.
So sorry for your moving experience. You should get money back, also make a claim with your credit card company to get money back. Also report them to better business bureau. I think the damage is unacceptable. Also, let us know their name, so we do not use them!

I feel so sorry for about the move and am really mad on your behalf! I’ve moved several times within Norway and Scotland as well as to and back from the UK and I’ve never had anything more than a wineglass break. What you have experienced is not normal and not ok. Wrapping furniture in shrinkwrap will mot prevent them from damage and breakage. You need moving blankets and lots of bubblewrap around each piece. Again, I’m so sad for you and all your lovely furniture. The way it turned out, you could’ve just sold everything and bought new in CA, since most things are damaged, and saved half the moving costs. And they have the audacity to charge you MORE than the quote, even though it’s all broken!!!!

Girl, such a horrible moving experience, i dont know how it works in US but in UK you buy insurance package that is added to the moving price and it covers possible damage to some extent. See if you had one in your papers, maybe it is there? About your kitchen, drawers are great for storage and so much more versatile than cupboards, so it looks like you will be fine ;) what i would do is put as much as i can away so it doent collect the dust and for the shelves i would probably keep decorative glasswear, plants, pretty cookbooks etc there, but not plates and daily used items, but hey, thats the beauty of owning a home- you make it how you like it ;) good luck ;)✌️

I'm so sorry Michel! I totally understand how you feel. I have a moving horror story as well. The company I went through I don't even think is in business anymore but, they completely left everything that was in the bedrooms and kitchen so my husband and I were awake moving day until 6am the next day moving everything else in our car, 5 trips total an hour both ways, so like 10 hours of driving. Then we find that they broke a bookshelf, a box of glassware that says fragile, and they propped a fabric bag of linens against our heater and almost started the house on fire. Then they had the nerve to ask for more money! I sent them huge letter compliant and they dropped it but, it was a nightmare!
Anything not covered in your claim can/ should be taken to small claims court. It is a small fee to file and have them served. File in Texas, if the Vegas based company does not show you will win. You can have a parent or attorney be at small claims on your behalf in Texas.
Michel I was in a similar moving experience story at the end of 2020. I had to get my next door neighbour to come in and supervise the movers as we had to be on our flight back to where we were going. I had assume they would pack the beds up for us, duh stupid me. Then I get a phone call saying I needed to pay more money as there were more boxes than they quote me on, so had to pay. On moving day several items broken, the removal guy got almost angry with me when I pointed out the broken items, all were like you brand new prior to moving. I had also booked a reputable company, oh so I thought. Anyway you learn and move on. Loving your videos and what your doing with your home.

Don’t feel bad for complaining; you were paying for a service and very specific and they didn’t deliver and were shady about it. Sorry you went through that.
Don't feel bad! Talk to a lawyer. I used to work for a big name moving company and heard stories like this all the time from people who went with small businesses like this. They have a tendency to contract out to the lowest bidder and don't even know the driver. I hope you got an actual contract from them, because that should have all the details of your move listed out and provide some guidance. I suspect you are unfortunately going to end up in small claims court with them as I bet they don't have the best insurance. Normal damage insurance should cover replacement for repair value of the items.

I moved 2500+ miles with a ubox that I packed myself thoroughly because I don’t trust movers. I made sure everything was in there safe and secure. It was a lot more, but everything was fine when it arrived! I’m so sorry this happened.. but the company is definitely noted for any of my future moves if I don’t do U-Haul again.
That damage is beyond Terrible but I am so sorry that happened. It’s a terrible scam. I would had that person sign an invoice of all the number of boxes that you gave them from small to medium to large and all the items and show the driver you were paying for everything they were moving. Then they didn’t even bring all the items that you paid them to bring. I hope you get your money back that’s so horrific.😢

Definitely file a claim for every single thing even if you don’t get nearly as much back. And also, please write a review or have Jordy write a review, mention all of the steps that you tried to take to prevent things from happening and what happened anyway. I am so sorry I don’t know if you got moving insurance but definitely something to look into for the future. Hugs 😩❤️
I never comment on videos but watching your moving experience just made me so sad. When I moved 500 miles I had a very similar experience, EVERY piece of furniture was damaged and I was just heartbroken. My furniture wasn’t expensive but it was all under a year old and I had to decide whether to keep damaged furniture or replace everything. If I had wanted all new furniture I would have sold my things and not spent thousands to move my stuff. I’m so sorry you had a similar experience, and I’m glad you shared it.
Always go with your gut. If you think it is too good to be true, it usually is. What a horrendous experience. Don't let them get away with it.
As for the bureau, definitely align it with the wall and not your bed. Congratulations on your new home!

So sorry they broke so many of your practically new things. I have moved alot. I pack my own things & let movers load the trucks & unload. I only lost items that I trusted someone else to pack. Last year we moved from FL to SC. Our belongings were in pods for 4 months. Nothing was broken. Glass top tables, curio cabinets, our whole house.
My daughter moved from MI to Utah and paid movers $5000 for 15 boxes and a couple pieces of furniture. It all got there in one piece including a large round vintage mirror. I couldn't believe how expensive it was for how little they moved but at least it was undamaged. I think you could recreate the other half of the coffee table. You are very crafty. You could find someone to buff out the chips of your dinning room table, too. Make it look like new again. ❤

Michel! That moving company should face legal action, honestly. That's outrageous! Im so sorry about that and your poor shoulder! I've witnessed a lot of shoulder dislocations (my oldest son, both shoulders, seizures that destroyed the sockets) and know they are excruciating! Once we had to go to the hospital because one was stuck. I was amazed that you were still unpacking!!! I hope you get some rest, what an intense couple of days.
Ahhh Michel, I am so sorry! Not to pile on but I used Allegiance Moving and Storage for a similar distance move - and they were also awful, dishonest, and scammy. I could not overstate how horrible of an experience I had with them from start to finish - so everyone reading please please protect yourself!! I don't know why it's so difficult to find reliable movers these days, but thank you for the honest and open review!

I am sooo sorry this happened to you. We just moved from Seattle to Austin and after reading reviews, hearing horror stories, and talking to companies that seemed so scammy we opted to get a POD and load it ourself. It seemed like the only option which wasn’t a total scam. I pretty much have a negative opinion of all moving companies at this point. And I echo what everyone else says about getting your money back. Did you happen to pay by credit card? You might be able to do a charge back through the credit card company.
I'm so sorry about your terrible mover experience! I swear I have never heard a single person give a positive review of their experience with professional movers, but you are definitely was one of the worst I've heard. I have friends move from Oregon to Texas and it was a complete nightmare for them! They paid something like $15,000, and ended up not having their stuff for like 3 months and then lots of broken stuff and missing stuff and they got other people's stuff, too. I'm so impressed with how much you got done, especially with being injured! You have inspired me to do some organization around my house! Loving this moving series/time and excited to see how your decorations and general house stuff go!
You quite literally NEVER complain. You’re like my first born who would wait until she had a fever of 105 to say “I just don’t feel that great” so I always know that when she SAYS she doesn’t feel good she’s really really sick. It’s ok to share bad experiences. This was a horrible experience. It would have been better for you to just sell all your furniture in Austin because then you would have made $ and saved $. I feel so sad for you.

After you get reimbursed for the damage, you must be sure to give them the rating they so deserve!! That's terrible. My husband and I moved recently after living in our for er house for 28yrs. We went with a moving company our realtor suggested, girl!! Every piece of furniture them guys moved has a nick in it!!! I was livid!! I keep forgetting to tell our realtor not to suggest them to anyone else because they really weren't worth the money we paid for them!!! I totally get you… last weekend I bronchitis while I was moving my apartment from Atlanta to Charleston… loaded my pod and a UHaul, filled those, and still had boxes, a bunch of cube shelves, boards, my chest freezer, my vibration machine, my metal shelves…so we had to come back this weekend to rent another UHaul and load the rest…oh and we are on the third floor…

This seems to be the common practice among moving companies. I just moved from CA to OR and literally the SAME thing happened to me! we were quoted a way lower price and then when they got to our house to load up the price sky rocketed by thousands of dollars and there is nothing you can do because you have to be out of the house! IT IS A CRIME! we ended up suing them, I think you should too.
Wood Glue on the outside chair should work. Try it before you dispose of it thinking it’s an impossible fix.

I feel so sorry for about the move and am really mad on your behalf! I’ve moved several times within Norway and Scotland as well as to and back from the UK and I’ve never had anything more than a wineglass break. What you have experienced is not normal and not ok. Wrapping furniture in shrinkwrap will mot prevent them from damage and breakage. You need moving blankets and lots of bubblewrap around each piece. Again, I’m so sad for you and all your lovely furniture. The way it turned out, you could’ve just sold everything and bought new in CA, since most things are damaged, and saved half the moving costs. And they have the audacity to charge you MORE than the quote, even though it’s all broken!!!!

Girl, such a horrible moving experience, i dont know how it works in US but in UK you buy insurance package that is added to the moving price and it covers possible damage to some extent. See if you had one in your papers, maybe it is there?
About your kitchen, drawers are great for storage and so much more versatile than cupboards, so it looks like you will be fine ;) what i would do is put as much as i can away so it doent collect the dust and for the shelves i would probably keep decorative glasswear, plants, pretty cookbooks etc there, but not plates and daily used items, but hey, thats the beauty of owning a home- you make it how you like it ;) good luck ;)✌️

I'm so sorry Michel! I totally understand how you feel. I have a moving horror story as well. The company I went through I don't even think is in business anymore but, they completely left everything that was in the bedrooms and kitchen so my husband and I were awake moving day until 6am the next day moving everything else in our car, 5 trips total an hour both ways, so like 10 hours of driving. Then we find that they broke a bookshelf, a box of glassware that says fragile, and they propped a fabric bag of linens against our heater and almost started the house on fire. Then they had the nerve to ask for more money! I sent them huge letter compliant and they dropped it but, it was a nightmare!
Anything not covered in your claim can/ should be taken to small claims court. It is a small fee to file and have them served. File in Texas, if the Vegas based company does not show you will win. You can have a parent or attorney be at small claims on your behalf in Texas.
Michel I was in a similar moving experience story at the end of 2020. I had to get my next door neighbour to come in and supervise the movers as we had to be on our flight back to where we were going. I had assume they would pack the beds up for us, duh stupid me. Then I get a phone call saying I needed to pay more money as there were more boxes than they quote me on, so had to pay. On moving day several items broken, the removal guy got almost angry with me when I pointed out the broken items, all were like you brand new prior to moving. I had also booked a reputable company, oh so I thought. Anyway you learn and move on. Loving your videos and what your doing with your home.

Don't feel bad! Talk to a lawyer. I used to work for a big name moving company and heard stories like this all the time from people who went with small businesses like this. They have a tendency to contract out to the lowest bidder and don't even know the driver. I hope you got an actual contract from them, because that should have all the details of your move listed out and provide some guidance. I suspect you are unfortunately going to end up in small claims court with them as I bet they don't have the best insurance. Normal damage insurance should cover replacement for repair value of the items.

I moved 2500+ miles with a ubox that I packed myself thoroughly because I don’t trust movers. I made sure everything was in there safe and secure. It was a lot more, but everything was fine when it arrived! I’m so sorry this happened.. but the company is definitely noted for any of my future moves if I don’t do U-Haul again.

That damage is beyond Terrible but I am so sorry that happened. It’s a terrible scam. I would had that person sign an invoice of all the number of boxes that you gave them from small to medium to large and all the items and show the driver you were paying for everything they were moving. Then they didn’t even bring all the items that you paid them to bring. I hope you get your money back that’s so horrific.😢
