    If I buy this does it switch songs on its own? I've never used one of these

      What do you mean by switch songs? An LP is basically a long line of embedded waves that produce sound: Without any interruptions, it will play from the very outermost edge to the innermost, going song to song based on the LP layout.

      @@AskDaveTaylor I honestly don't know how those tables work
      I just want to preserve art and listen to vinyls

      Got it. You might want to see if there's a used vinyl record store in your town and pop in for a quick intro. They tend to be very friendly people happy to find someone who's interested in records!

    What I don't understand is the purpose of buying a turntable than using a wireless bluetooth speaker? It would be the samething just pair your phone with those speaker.

      How do you play an LP on your phone? 🙂

      @@AskDaveTaylor I thought the purpose of buying an LP is for their analog sound hype? So converting it to digital is defeating it purpose and wouldn't it be better of just use spotify. Plus I don't have to spend $$ amount for turntable and deal with calibrating, cleaning, crackling and pop in my music. On top of all that, 1 to 2 song are good on that LP so one will need to get up and moves that tone arm. Now to extract songs on a huge LP collection to digital probably make more sense.

      Sounds like you're not the target customer for this particular product. No worries. Enjoy Spotify. 🙂

      When you play records on a good turntable with good speakers it's a world of difference in sound quality. Young people who didn't have that experience have no idea. (not your fault)

    Leave turntable making to the japanese, the germans and the swiss!

    • @AskDaveTaylor

      There are great audio products from plenty more countries than those three, Geir. Do your research.

      Dear Dave! You are so right! However, as a turntable fan, i think the tables from japan, germany and switzerland are the best buys. I am 68 and i grew up with a lot of exellent american hifi gear, included cartridges from shure and stanton-pickering!

      Dear Dave! I have done a lot of turntable research, but I still wonder which brands you prefer?

    Cheesy review for a cheesy turntable.
    No Wow and Flutter spec?
    Where is the speed control and speed strobe?
    What is the weight of the turntable?
    Glad I saw this review before spending my hard earned money.

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wow and flutter specs? Modern turntables manage that so you don't have to obsess over statistics, Roger. Same with the speed control; why would you ever need to touch it or adjust it?

    • @rogermoeller7350
      @rogermoeller7350 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AskDaveTaylor not all records are recorded at the exact speed and speed adjustment is required to adjust for proper pitch.
      On top of that the platter and mat are not heavy enough to properly dampen any feedback. A decent turntable should weigh at least 15 lbs.

      What percentage of listeners can tell if the recording was produced at, say, 0.01% different speed? In any case, the good news is that there are lots of high-end audiophile turntables too.
