    Great video, once again! Learned a lot! Especially the part about split toning.
    Tip: If you hold down the shift key, the gearing of the sliders is reduced and you can more easily make fine adjustments.

    depending on camera sensor and shooting conditions, I find luminance noise reduction is another way to get a painterly quality.

    I am considering starting to print some of my shots but i don't have a colour printer and can't afford one for now. Can you suggest a good online printing service in Europe?

      Unfortunately not - but if you look for ones that use Canon printers and good paper (Fotospeed, Canson etc..)

    I didn't fully appreciate the painterly look until I saw your actual prints in the 'flesh' recently, I was completely blown away by them almost like 'old masters' paintings. A big thanks for sharing your tips. Keep up the good work, a good luck with the van hope there's a space for Pebs?

I’m studying classical painting methods during my retirement which also led me to renew an interest in photography. Love the way you keyed the first image in blue/orange.       I didn't expect a blue shadow tone. Somehow it has a very different effect from the usual "cinematic" orange-and-blue look that comes with those colours

    Are filters the same as masks or is there a difference when you invert? or is there an actual difference? Lightroom CC doesnt have anything that says mask, wondering if it's worth just switching to classic lightroom even though I'm a beginner.

    You always say you're just doing this rough and ready when you edit, and that's ok but I think it would be awesome to see a full on full length edit of an image so see how you take care of all the little minute details so make an image really pop.

    Nigel i love your videos even though I'm a street photographer! I have to mention that even for street photography with high contrast I always reduce clarity also. I find I can get very sharp images by adding just a tiny bit of the texture slider (+5) and reduce clarity by -15/-20. Love the soft overall look with sharp edges :) Great video!

    Great video, Nigel. Just a minor technical question. At the beginning of the video you increased the exposure of the image (which I thought was underexposed) only slightly. When you then added a graduated filter to the bottom part and subsequently to the top part you surprisingly increased exposure again (in both). Any reason why you did not do it in the first place (to the full image)? Or did you only recognise after lightning up the lower part that the upper part needed a bit more, too?

      I prefer to do the changes in the filters so that I can then move them and if need be change them easier.
