I grew up in Celina and spent many of days on Dale Hollow. Beautiful lake! I have about 300 acres in Overton county I hunt. Should def try to hook up sometime and do a little deer hunting this yr. My Grandfather has a farm there and has a pig problem. Looking at doing a little of that hunting as well.
That sounds like you got a nice place. I hunted some corps land while I was there. Didn't see any hog sign but a few turkeys and some deer sign. I agree it's a beautiful lake.
Uh I’m not sure why so many people are throwing shade about him handling the carp. Most people shoot at them and litterally chuck them on the side of the bank. By the way, they eat fish eggs including bass. Why on earth do you need a Matt for a trash fish that shouldn’t even be here😂🤦♂️ Ignore the hate man, your doing great!
Blazing hot shale u were putting the fish down on and they didn't get damaged.... U could pour a bucket of water down first or take them over to the shade on the grass? I would like to see u lay down on that stone out there and not get burnt. U can get a landing mat and proper net for less than a days pay. Smarten up!!!
1) the shale was not "blazing hot" 2) these are not European carp that are caught 100s of times, they are rarely ever caught because nobody fishes for them. 3) we don't use unhooking mats here, and a lot of people would throw a carp on the bank to die. I released all these fish and they swam away back to their home.
different culture I suppose and by the sound of it you treat fish a lot better than lots of Americans .In the UK you would get banned from fishing carp lakes without proper fish care equipment .Seen another video on here with some lads and their dads fishing the same lake who were very good they took proper care of their catch safeguarding them to grow bigger in the future .They were good proper anglers and appreciated the stunning fish that inhabit that lake .It isn't rocket science putting fish on stones damages them so cannot understand why anybody would do that as you do not need a fancy mat you can improvise with lots of things they are not expensive anyway .I guess it will take time for attitudes to change over there but it is happening .
I don't think the fish took any damage from being set on the rocks. Just lost a little slime that will come back. I am always careful to keep them from flopping, since that's what really hurts em. These fish rarely get caught or even fished for, so it's not necessary to handle them so delicately like you would in one of your lakes where everyone is catching the same fish over and over.
@@CatmanOutdoors I heard most if not all of their lakes are stocked fish. they pay lots of money for them and so that's why they want to take care of them. carp are like catfish they're tough.
@@fishermanofthesouth4112 Exactly. Those stocked carp fisheries need to protect their investments. Definitely a tough fish like you said, they are literally covered in armor.
Nice catches. But come on bro. Step your game up get a net and maybe a pad to set the carp on. They break fins so easily and loose scales. Setting them on broken shale is just horrible. U got a kayak and damn camera. Get a net and a landing pad. U let a fish go with some many damaged scales it's sad. Respect your catches
I forgot my net on that trip. And we don't use mats to unhook our fish here in the US. Most people here don't even fish for carp, many who catch them throw them on the bank to die.
Here in the states, most people just shoot them with bows and throw them in a pile to die. You can't go to the store here and buy some fancy mat for unhooking a carp, and if you ask you'll get some weird looks. Carp are technically an invasive species anyway. And I forgot my net on this trip, so I had to use my hands to land them, and it worked just fine.
Sad thinking Somme people catch that amazing of fish and treat them that way plus I’m amazed you land them the way you try to rip their faces off settin the hook an horsing them in 👎🏼
Beautiful scenery too, almost as beautiful as our PA!!!!
Brotherman! Nice fish! You could invest in a carp-mat and a landing net. They are not that expensive ....
wow that thing was huge...

Dale hollow is one of the best carp fisheries in the states. Can be slow but it filled with hogs.
Great catch, Jonnie, You had your G-dad LOL on this catch!!! Love watching your videos!!
subbed, great video. catch any cats there? looks like a nice camping spot as well. can you pull a car up?
Nah, it's a boat-in campsite. Thanks for the sub! I have caught cats there in the past but not this trip.

But on open water like that, how deep were you casting? What was the terrain like?
hey
can you send some info about the location you fishing
In the water... :) Dale hollow lake is all I can say.
appreciate the response! boat in, they do drop offs and pick ups? have a company name? thanks again.
Nope it is Corps of Engineers primitive campsites that you have to reserve ahead of time. They have a table, fire ring, and outhouse usually.

Disgusting no net or unhooking mat putting fish down on stones .If you are releasing fish at least take care of them
