Garth's "secret sauce" is the unbridled joy he takes in performing. If you didn't "fall in love" with the songs, the voice, the art, the music, the charisma, and the talent, that boundless glee will surely get you. It's overwhelming.

To be at one of his concerts is truly an experience. Friends In Low Places always blows the roof off the place. My favorite part is when Garth just sits on stage and does a song like The River and he stops singing and just listens to the audience as they sing the song to him. There's just nothing like it.

This video is from the Garth Brooks Double Live DVD Set. For audio sync, the close ups on Garth in the blue shirt was filmed in the old Dallas Cowboys field known as Texas Stadium, that stadium is no longer standing. You have a keen eye to have noticed different crowds. They actually included footage of crowds in New York City, Dublin Ireland, and some other places. If you ever get a chance to get your hands on Double Live DVD set, you will not regret it. I have this set and still watch it sometimes.

The third verse of this song is only heard in his live performances... Just like in his song "Thunder Rolls", which has a third verse they banned on radio back in the day... But you can hear it live...
Garth's live shows used to be dirt cheap... Like 65-75% cheaper then his competition... And, in many cases, gave as much as 10x the show to boot...
Also... @ 10:51 ... His wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood is with him... She is a great singer too... Last I heard, she had her own cooking show too... Not sure if it is still on though...

The place is packed and EVERY concert is like that. He's one of the 3 top performers of all time. Elvis, The Beatles and Garth Brooks. And Garth is catching up.
And his entrances on stage are legendary. I went to a show at LSU in '98 and when he came out, he started singing off stage. Then a piano rose up in the middle of the stage and he's playing it. Or you think that's him. In the first verse the real GB rises up out of the piano.
At LSU in April, the drums were in the middle and he starts singing his opening song. Then the drums start rising and he's under them like he's pushing them up to get on stage. AWESOME!!!

Garth Brooks is on of my all time favorite musicians. My first Garth concert was in December 1992. I was pregnant with my first child (Tyler) who was overdue so we bought general admission tickets at the gate. It was the BEST show ever!!!! My second concert was at Neyland Stadium in the January. My niece (not a country fan) went with me and we realized our seats were on the very last row and it was frigid. Garth was my first ever concert! 1991. Long, but great story of how I got tickets at a time when he was selling out in minutes (back before internet sales). Also was how I met my best friend (and man of honor at both weddings, and friend of 30+ years) after I sold him the seat next to me after a fight with the then-boyfriend. It was amazing. The bar was set high for concerts, and few have cleared it. Saw him 2 more times before he semi-retired.

    • @AprilStoner-y8x
      @AprilStoner-y8x 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

I can’t even really remember the then-boyfriend, but will forever be grateful for him being an ass and refusing to go. As for the tickets, got them because my cousin was playing football at an HBC, and each week I attended his games and they were announcing proudly they’d just became a ticket outlet for whatever the ticket seller was for the area venues. Drove to the other local ticket outlet morning they went on sale. Line was wrapped around 4 blocks and trailed into the town square. I moseyed over to the HBC venue, did some begging of the elderly African American lady who was already there. She let me cut in, I was able to be first in line at that outlet, and got great seats! The show was awesome. Heard later that about 40 people of the hundreds waiting in line were able to buy tickets before it sold out. It was that way at all the normal ticket outlet locations. By the third time Garth came around, the HBC venue was not as much of a secret among white folks, but I was still able to get seats before Garth sold out.

I used to cook for his parents. I remember the night I first met them. It was the night after he won his first Entertainer of the Year award in 1991. They were at the awards when he won. They stroll in the door, order some burgers and went to sit down. I finish the order and everyone wanted to take the food to them. I asked what the big deal was and on cue they all look at me and say, that's Garth's parents. I said, okay...who is Garth? (I was a metal guy, sue me). They turned one of the televisions around and it was the news showing Garth winning the night before and those two people clearly sitting next to him. Very nice people. They came in maybe 4 or 5 more times before I graduated high school and moved away from good old Yukon, Oklahoma! He was our QB!

Garth quit playing at the top of his popularity to raise his daughters. After the last one went to college he's back to playing music! ❤️❤️

I saw him very early in his music career and again just a few years ago. He still has the energy of a 20 something year old. He's a great song writer, a good singer, and an excellent entertainer.

I saw in an interview once where Garth said that in the music video, if you listen closely, you can hear someone yell "push Marie!!!", in the final chorus. This is because in the 80-person choir singing backup, only 78 are singing. One is in labor, and one is assisting. 😊 Great song and great reaction ❤

There are innumerable singers out there, but Garth is not just a singer, that man is a performer and a showman. His whole focus on the stage is energetic fun and entertainment. A ticket to one of his shows is worth whatever you pay for it.

I'm from SLC. Utah and in the early 90s he came in concert for 3 nights in a row and of course as we always did back then, we slept out for our tickets and went all 3 nights, he is one of the best performers in concert..he leaves EVERYTHING on that stage, so grateful I have an appreciation for all types of music so seen many different people in concert. Thanks for the share. ❤

I played music in a band in front of maybe a thousand people and it was electrifying. I can still feel the thrill 30 years later. I could only imagine what it if like to play in front of tens of thousands who loved the music this much.

Going to a Garth Brooks Concert is one of the best experiences you will ever have in your whole life! Definitely worth paying the extra money to see him! I didn’t get to see him till my late 20’s and had been a fan since I was born! I wish you the best, and love your videos!

Garth still has the same energy as he did the first time I saw him in 1996. When i saw him in 96, he sold out 4 shows in 11 minutes, and that's in the little area of WV I live in . He's the only artist that sells out multiple nights of shows in every city. Sometimes, he does 2 shows a day. He's always the motto that he will play as many shows that people are willing to buy tickets for.

I saw Garth on November 21st 1998 at Texas A&M Reed stadium. It was a great concert. This song was all fired up just like in this video.
There was several parts of this video from the This is Garth Brooks video that came out in 1992, I had the VHS of it, like the smashing and jumping on the guitar.

Been to many, many concerts. By far the most amazing one was Garth. Saw him 2 times 20 years apart. When I met my husband and at our 20 years of marriage. Just as great both times. Now at 30 years of marriage. We have been married 3 times to my husband and never divorced. Seriously. We have a daughter as well who is now 28 and out on her own. We r more in love now than ever. We play pool, bowl in a bowling league, wakeboard all summer, and workout. We also rarely agree on anything as he is an Engineer and I am a Philosophy professor. Lol yall remind me of us. Anytime u need music just ask. Oh, u should listen to song A symptom of being human by Shinedown. Not country but the drummer is my neighbor in Charleston,SC. Great song!

I’m 57, seen him once. He came here in ?? 2015? Did 4 shows: 2 Friday, 2 Sat. We saw the last of the four and he was still crazy energetic, sounded great, played til 1:30 AM. It was fantastic. He told us he played longer because it was the last show and because his wife was sick and she was unable to perform that night

I agree Sebs , Garth is the Michael Jordan and the Angelina Jordan of country Music. Michael loved what he did, Angelina loves what she does. Ya cant fake that expression on ones face of pure love and contentment of doing something that ya just love doing.

This just made me so happy today! I'm sitting here smiling, singing along and remembering the many Garth concerts that I scraped together the money to see. They were 100% worth it and this dropped me right back into stadiums full of Garth fans losing their ever-lovin' minds! (Ok, I was one of those people. LOL) Still smiling ... :) Thanks!

Lucky enough to have seen Garth 3 times. First time was hen he was touring for his 2nd album and he was electric way back then. Last 2 times were in the last 4 years and he puts on such a great show that there is no way to describe the experience. If you all ever get a chance to go, you will be blown away.

I had the privelage of attending Oklahoma State University where Garth got his start. The bar he started his career in is still there and his legacy has been founded into one of my schools traditions. That tradition is singing this song at every home game along with 50K other students and fans. It's an amazing experience.
