What a lovely little girl, and you did a great job on the dress! I love making little girl dresses. They're small and easy to handle and so much simpler than ladies' dresses. I liked how you sewed the lining down by hand. I am starting to love hand sewing, because it is so much easier to get in tight places and make it sit just right. Also I can curl up and hang out with others while I'm doing it instead of being alone in the sewing room. I'll always prefer the sewing machine for long seams, but for detail work hand sewing rocks.
