Hello all! I'm noticing this video is getting sudden attention out of no where, so welcome to the One Piece review series. This video had a lot of issues regarding pacing and structure, which I fix in the next Jaya video! so go check it out!
as someone who's never seen one piece (and probably never will) i can truly establish everything in this vid as true even though i have no idea what is happening
One Pace really goes ham with the shortening and often doesn’t give scenes time to breathe and build suspense in an effort to make it go faster. I would really recommend either watching the actual anime or just reading the manga. But great video, I’m excited to see you continue either way.
@@foilenjoyer8667 thank you! The Jaya arc is also out btw :) As for one pace it’s a toss up, do I use it to push out videos faster? Or watch it normally. I haven’t started skypeia yet so I’m deciding beforehand if I wanna go in or do it normally. Probably for the sake of reviews and the people I might switch off.
I haven't watched too much of One Pace, but I've noticed that the people behind it have a very strict adherence to the source material. Even when the filler they're clipping out is very good. Like, the early arcs (up until Skypeia) are paced pretty well in the anime and Toei added a lot to make the world seem more full. For instance, the original anime added a lot more Ace content. In the manga, the two bothers meet, talk a bit, Ace destroys a bunch of ships, then leaves. But the original anime added more scenes with Luffy and Ace alone together before they leave the city, then Ace travels with the crew through the desert for a bit before leaving. So we get a lot more of him in Alabasta in the anime, even if it's nothing major. But that's something One Pace completely removed, and I personally think that's kind of a net negative.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince Yeah. Especially in early One Pace. They really don’t seem to differentiate “filler” from “things that the anime adds which enhances the manga” in favor of just only keeping what was in the manga. Which is really a loss a lot of the time
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince they actually did keep ace and all of that in the onepace. Having him punching the ships was really cool and I popped off but it was before I made this video That aside I did watch skypeia without one pace and my review is coming soon!
@@foilenjoyer8667 I have a few issues with pacing that made me switch to one pace. Worldbuilding is get, taking time to let us take in the environment I can get behind. I’ll talk about it in skypeia but there is some repetition that bugs me. Edit: I still am not using one pace here on out though, I’m reviewing one piece and not one pace so it makes sense
There is a specific reason why Pell survived the bomb. "Why he is still alive? The nuke is said to be strong enough to destroy Alabasta and kill thousands of people. PEll was originally gonna die but due to the 9/11 attacks oda and the editors felt it insensitive at the time considering the tower and bombings therefore made the change." - source the one piece wiki The chapter where Pell took of with the bomb came out November, 19th 2001 (chapter 208). The first mention of the Bomb was in capter 193 wich came out July 30th, 2001.
Usopp feels annoying until you realise he's a regular village kid with no powers who shines as a long range character who gets thrown in to close combat all the time. Unfortunately he's so good at sniping he has to be nerfed at every chance to prevent him outshining the rest as we saw in East Blue when he fired a single cannon and sunk two navy warships. His single shot is better than everyone in the Marines combined.
@@OkMartyy man shot a fireball from a mile away with such precision it baffled everybody. He's like Zenitsu - so powerful yet nerfed so hard by the writers because they realised a confident character with that much raw ability would destroy the main character's struggles.
So sad didn't get more of Ace?? WELLLL, they added more screen time for him in the filler!! Where I assume you skipped since One Pace. Trust me, I read the manga... So I was overjoyed with his added screen time in the anime filler where he got to hang out with the crew. 😂
There is big developement for Usopp as when the enemy laugh on Luffy's dream he defend it and refuse to let them laught ... it may not be important but Luffy early did the same when Kuro crew laugh on zoro
Just got up to date and I've been taking in depth notes of every arc if u need extra info or hidden info let me know also as much as one PACE is viable i recommend just watching the original OFC skipping most filler
@@MugiwaraMarc I did announce that I am no longer using one pace starting with skypiea which I’m currently making! I’ll see you there cause I’m cooking up a storm (no pun intended) 👀 And yes I watch Skypiea normally without Pace. But yeah I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Normal one piece so I’m glad I made the switch :)
i mean everyone has different tastes. It would be boring if I always had the same opinion as you. I don't think zenitsu and usopp are the same but them both being very whiny and not doing anything was annoying. However that opinion changes in Skypeia for me :) (also I really liked syrupp village) I do hope Usopp gets stronger. I think that's what really annoys me is the gap he has from everyone elses. Also I Loved Nami's fight. I didn't hate any of the fights if that means something
@OkMartyy I've been reading one piece for a long time and when I was younger I didn't like Usopp so much until a certain arc. Weak characters couldn't possibly be interesting right? But on rereads I noticed how much he has always been a goat. From not running from the Kuro pirates, to beating Chuu, to facing Merry Christmas and Mr 4. He's not a normal human, every strawhat is built different. He can take a lot of damage and live, but even so he's afraid of dying. Extremely afraid. And even then he fights. And that makes him braver than Luffy in a way. The scene where he faked his death so he didn't have to fight Chuu and then feels so ashamed is great. And the speech he gives Chopper that he couldn't forgive them for laughing at Luffy's dream was awesome. And his dynamics with luffy and Chopper and with Nami are the best, he brings so much life and joy to the crew. Being able to lift 15 mountains and defeat 4 shichibukai at once was never a requirement to be a strawhat. Luffy just needs to like you (which kinda means you're a great person) and want you in his crew. That's it.
@@nathandanczak7822 sorry I don’t do drugs 👍 If you don’t like my opinions that’s a ok. We all have different opinions on things! If that’s the case I’m just not your guy, sorry it didn’t work out 🤷

Great review! Calling the crew a nightmare blunt rotation was hilarious. Mugiwara no Goofy calls Luffy a crackhead which I find very fitting.

I would've never guessed, honestly I thought he went up to the White Sea and the water absorbed the impact where he was. What a crazy reason
