this is great because once you tie the middle to make a tripod and make the three cord loops all you need to do is take it apart throw the legs and three cross members away and remake them again at next camp a very light wieght camp stool
Dude! That really is the most simple design I’ve seen yet. I was thinking of taking something like a shirt or a bigger piece of material and folding it over a few times into a triangle, then tying the three corners to the notches on the tripod… but I think your way is even simpler
Excellent solution. Very good. I have a triangular leather with accommodation in the corners for the posts but I find your project very good to do without it. Greetings from Argentina
**Forgot to demonstrate cutting grooves on the upper end of the leg-sticks on the outside for the paracord to settle in. You mention the cord settling into it, but didn't list it in the steps prior to that point. Other than that, this is a very clever stool, one I hadn't heard of before. Thanks for sharing!
That's a really good design, I'll have to try that some time. To be honest, I carry a plastic bucket in my pack because it's such a useful thing to have, and I usually just sit on the bucket.
Me and a buddy were talking just a little bit ago, about how creativity is one of the biggest factors in bushcraft/survivability. To have the eye to spot several uses of something and the ability to turn nothing into something useful is a big key factor. Nice new fancy pants bro😂😂
Very cool. I was stuck along the side of the road a few months back and I tried to make something similar to this but I failed miserably. I wish I had then the knowledge you have given me today. Great job. Thx.
Awesome chair design, great editing too. I can't wait to put one next to my 'Lawnee' chair! I feel like your channel is really going to blow up. Good luck!
Very Kool design my friend. Im excited about you Q and A Wednesday but, could not write in you comments. Im just curious about how your teepee is trying you?
Your ideas are fantastic!! I like your channel! Let me know if you have the time and desire and a idea to do a project together. A few months ago, I had a project with Billy Rioux of Canada. We carved a cup, me for him and he for me. In my video I introduced his channel in two sentence and link and he made the same with my channel. On my opinion this was a success. Greetings from Switzerland Felix
Of course my question is always the same when making a tripod... would this work using the Coalcracker 360° No Lash method? It’s going to be almost 10 days before I can answer the question real time. I need to take the Bushcraft classes.
@@PaulSchortemeyer a hammock would require a considerable amount of rope. This just need rope around the perimeter, and a little to keep the poles together. Sapling trees could be used between the ropes to support a body.
You could modify this pretty easily to make it more comfortable (like get a piece of plywood, cut it out into a basic shape that can fit between the tripod), but then that requires you to carry in your piece of plywood when you're out in the woods. As always, comfort or weight when carrying in (unless you've got your car with you close by, then it doesn't matter). It's all up to you.
I made a similar tripod stool with a piece of canvass. I think I'm going to like yours better. I can make the loops a little larger so it spreads out more for my fat "back of the lap". Nice!
you became my favourite channel due to the simplicity of your designs!!!! Thank you.
Very excellent design! I like it!

simpler than most of other I seen on youtube yet the most effective in terms of durability vs time and resources... this is why I'm subscribed :)

I've been going to the mountains for over 50 years. I've learned so damn many trucks from your channel in month that it's embarrassing!

Crackerjack project !!
This is the simplest I’ve seen so far !
Thanks for sharing!
Keep em coming

That's fun. You are just full of good stuff. Thanks
Good designs and strategies seem obvious, once you've seen them applied!
This stool is so simple, it appears obvious...

Fantastic idea! Keep them coming.

Very Kool design my friend. Im excited about you Q and A Wednesday but, could not write in you comments. Im just curious about how your teepee is trying you?
What about using Jute or Hemp?
Cool, I'll have to try that one
You want to be comfortable? Bring a lightweight hammock. Shit, that has been a camping game changer since they came out.
Simple and effective 👍
Cool! I like it.

Felix
I'd love to see a project by the two of you.
I would love to see y’all collaborate.
Nice idea there could make it super complicated and weave a mesh for the seat 😁😁
Thx Dan
I still prefer my crazy creek chair. Doubles as a sleeping pad /firewood carrier
looks super comfy. lol
Awesome! What watch do you wear?
im worried about it like breaking and getting impaled.
Did you come up with that? That was dam creative. I have to try that.

Are you wearing chinos?
They never taught us that back in Boy Scout Camp! (Then again, that was 20 years ago)
👍👍👍
Pretty cool idea. I wonder if you could up size this to make a platform for sleeping?
Smile....it's called a hammock!

Mr. Owl how many licks does it to get the center of a Tottsie Pop, One, Two, THREE. Three!
Great!!!
Thanks for sharing, atb 👍
Cool
How to build a campchair Dan style:
Find a hole and jam your stick through it.
Ok that is clever if not all that comfortable looking but you like sitting on logs. I would prefer a more comfortable "perch".

speaking of stools... any thoughts on "number 2" in the woods?
Yep.
Yuck!😂
After a man has a few beers don't make a mistake sitting down the wrong way. That stool was simple and easy to make though.
Liked
Bushcraft Sorcery!
😬
EBAY backpack chair. $20
eBay isn't usually available in the wilderness 😆

I'm sorry lord...I apologize
Lol
Watching someone make a stool, whilst I pass a stool. Welcome to 2019
