I think it's more-so that he hasnt been preparing for offline tekken, than that he is bad. We see him whooping on people all day, but playing online doesn't translate to offline that easily

Unfortunately, it would seem that "PC defense" is on the rise. Not just in Tekken 8, but in every multiplayer competitive game. At least in Tekken 7, insecure people could savescum their ranks, effectively removing the necessity to cheat to preserve ego. Watching for the next stream!
I felt the same, so I picked him up and learned the matchup. Pretty easy to deal with when you know your throw breaks and his set ups. With the homing throw nerfs he will drift toward a lower tier fs.

Learn to poke, move and defend. If you focus on combos, you'll be stuck in low ranks for years.
