Since the 17th century this stunning French village has been a centre of the Faïence pottery trade. Admire the pretty gorge and waterfall, which flow through the village from a mountain spring. Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is a beautiful village where homes were built on terraces into the mountain and a legendary golden star hangs between the limestone cliffs above the village.

One thing always puzzles me when I visit these hilly old towns in Europe: do they have any sewage system? If so how they bury and maintain the pipes that goes up and down the hill
