What I love more than analyzing every detail I can about characters in funny shows I like, is talking about it so yeah. Long paragraph.
Huge thing i absolutely love about the way Bugbo interacts with his peers, is that he does it with an air of mild condescension.
Like in the first episode where he’s chiding Gerbo about building a structure that’s 12 stumps high, and not denying Gerbos claim when he says that “spiders aren’t known for their intelligence”. What a nice friend Bugbo’s established himself to be!
He’s also a bit petty which I’ll get to in a moment, but what I love the most about these traits is how they’re not immediately obvious, at least to someone “playing the episode” for the first time. It’s the little details, like the small inhale Bugbo does after Joe decides to not jump in the hole, and his claim that “It’s very unlike you Joe to not take intiative, but if that’s the way you want to be I can’t stop you” which in a way is technically true since Bugbo can’t force Joe to pick a certain option in the WWGJD segment, but he can sure as hell punish him for it by pushing him into it.
Speaking of which, I am obsessed with the implication that punishing Joe is the main plot of this episode instead of helping the clown. The fact that Bugbo’s idea of a solution to help the clown is to FORCE JOE TO TAKE INITIATIVE BY RUNNING FOR MAYOR is just so good. If Bugbo really did care about the clown’s situation (which I doubt since when Gerbo exclaimed that “someone should do something” to help the clown, Bugbo immediately tried to shut the plan down stating that “The mayor’s too power” so oh well! Too bad so sad! Guess we can’t do anything at all which, if the last couple minutes in the episode are any indicator, is a goddamn lie) he probably would have realized sooner that out of the three of them, Joe is the worst candidate since he can’t speak. All he wanted to do was keep punishing Joe for not wanting to take initiative this episode, which is petty as hell. But I digress.
I also love the detail of when both Bugbo and the clown are asking Joe to run, Joe only agrees because the clown asked him to and didn’t even tell him he had to win but at least try. He had to TRY. Which leads into my next point. Joe is still fucking pissed at Bugbo forcing them to “take initiative” twice now, but I believe has found a small way to get back at him due to Bugbo’s oversight on the whole talking thing.
The minute Bugbo even realized his own error, Joe had already left to go on stage (before even Quentin was up there) knowing full well that he is not winning which Bugbo doesn’t want, but is fulfilling the clowns request of at least trying. He gets to piss Bugbo off while technically doing what he was supposed to which is a win-win for him. Goodass character shit right there. And Bugbo? BUGBO IS FUCKING SEETHING.
The minute Gerbo exclaims that Joe’s already gone, Bugbo’s pupils fucking dilate. He is malding. And they stay dilated as he stares at the mayor walking on stage, wishing them “good luck” only reverting back when he addresses Gerbo again. It’s at this point I assume that Bugbo just fucking gives up and offs the mayor so the story will go in the direction he wants it to and not let Joe screw them over since I assume he’s frustrated at getting constantly interrupted this episode. He obviously didn’t intend for the story to go in the direction it did, since he didn’t account for Joe not doing what he wanted at the start, and for the clown still residing in the underground carnival. So yeah, he's pretty much done this episode.
TLDR I fucking love how subtly Bugbo is malding over things not going his way and I appreciate the small details put into this series, like how Bugbo rubs his hands together at the prospect of him and his “friends” getting the whole underground carnival to themselves. Silly silly bugs.

I appreciate how humble the clown is. Specifying how it isn't a big deal to everyone but him. And tells Joe he doesn't have to
1:02 this part caught me off guard.
The masterful gaslighting of Bugbo manipulated Gerbo into keeping less secrets hidden from him, but Bugbo makes sure that he won’t be suspected of abusing this advantage by saying “that’s irrelevant” too make the situation less tense and suspicious.
Yeah, I noticed he's kind of controlling like when he pushed Joe into the hole even though Joe said he didn't want to take initiative so I believe Joe threatens his desire for control in some way while Gerbo is basically the submissive and agreeable one so he's easier to take advantage of

Bugbo is a very bizarre character to parse. I mean on one hand he's able to skeletonize a man in in a few frames and projects an aura of extreme unease in all who view him, but on the other hand he does genuinely go out of his way to help the clown. In the first video he came off as a little arrogant, here he's much more agreeable, and by god does it WORK. I'm never sure if he's mere seconds from deciding it's time to cease my very being since he doesn't seem to have any consistent behavior, an agent of chaos in his purest form. Did he help the clown out of the goodness of his heart, or as an excuse to kill the mayor? Questions like these make the character interesting in a way you don't really see these days.

The more I've watched, the more I realized how bossy Bugbo truly was. There's a subtle hint of intimidation in his voice that's covered with a thin layer of a chirpy attitude, but nevertheless, I found what was myself completely oblivious to the fact earlier on until this point. It's only now that I realize how this wasn't intended to be much of a scary thriller genre, it simply has a menacing aura around it that I can't really wrap my head around. You'd expect him to do something horrible/his other friends would unveil something truly terrifying about his past as some sort of a lore-rabbit hole to jump into that eventually rounds itself out to be either a well-built or poorly structured ARG, but no. Bugbo stands straight and tall with an idle pose to strike fear into thousands of people among myself, and with nothing but a few uttered words, what once was a living breathing mass that Bugbo was talking to a mere few seconds ago has become "no more" as he called it in the previous episode-- I recalled that one. I was expecting something more along the lines of a traditional analog horror series when I checked this series out from another creator... but no, this is very pleasant.
I love how there's nothing really "Wrong" with it, it's in the style of a traditional flash cartoon back in the day. But at the same time, you get this sense something's not right here. Bugbo's behavior, some of the messages, some of the jokes, it sorta reminds me of the DHMIS show actually. And I absolutely loved it, so that's a plus. I this series' sense of dark humor too. Like, the way Bugbo acts at the start with the tree, and the mayor's death alongside other moments managed to get a solid chuckle out of me. They're both funny, and yet they feel... off in the established environment at the same time. The whole thing feels... vaguely unsettling, like there's a deep dark undertone to it all... and yet we never get that confirmation of something terribly wrong. This combination of something unsettling and comedy already has me hooked, and now I want more, and I do believe this series deserves more attention, both for its comedy, and the surreal atmosphere it manages to capture.
I also noticed the bandicam watermark disappearing once they go down the tree hole... I don't know whether this is intentional or not... but It kinda does add to the "Slightly Uncanny"/"Something might not be right here" nature of the series for me, so I don't mind lol.

@@doggerlander Forgive me for the long reply, but while you are right to some extent, I can't help but feel like your comment is incredibly diminutive to the effort on display here. As someone who grew up with the era of flash animation that this work is a homage to, I can tell that an incredible amount of attention to detail was spent not only in making the animation as limited as possible, but also doing it in such a way that it could come across as something of the era that was genuinely trying to be kid friendly but simply didn't realize how uncanny it was coming across as. All the character's being made up of simple easy to move shapes or irises being strangely detailed and shaded, it all goes a long way to feeling like something made by someone with no real skills in the artistry of animation but by someone who was enabled to create something they otherwise wouldn't have been able to without the invention of programs like micro media flash, which is what led to a lot of the strange feeling flash animations and games that came out in the wake of things like homestar runner. That kind of craftsmanship helps me really apricate a series like this and all the effort that must have gone into it, so to call it "just crude animation" feels like brushing someone's hard work under the rug.

Bugbo: What's this?
Gerbo: Oh this? it's a... Big tree, i think-
Bugbo: I don't like it, i want it gone, Joe, cut it down.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES
*crash sound* Aw, Man!

I love how menacing bugbo is. Like, he is fast to talk and extremely confident because he literally can just change reality.
"I'm giving a speech-"
"no you aren't"
"💀"
"You can't be here! I'm giving a speech!"
"No you aren't"
I love this video
