Mahomes has one of the best arms in the NFL right there slightly above old man Rodgers and slightly behind Allen. Purdy doesn't have that level of arm but he can wing it 60 yards ( saw it all the time when I watched Iowa State games). He just needs to air it out more. There was a time when people didn't know how far Rodgers could throw, but now he is considered to have one of the strongest arms in NFL history.

Mahomes in my view (49ers fan) is most certainly not a prototype QB. He's a freak, an outlier; there are too many unteachable elements to his game. With all respect to all the QBs that came before him, he falls in a category of his own. Some get close, like Rogers, but in my view Mahomes is just different. He is the ultimate cheat code right now in the NFL.
That said, it's going to take a team effort by the 49ers to beat Mahomes and Co. The coaches are going to need to call a near perfect game to keep up with what the Chiefs and Andry Reid will hit them with. The defense in particular will be in the hot seat, as they looked shaky all playoffs and none of those teams were led by Mahomes. It will be a good, close game I think, but the 49ers have the steeper hill to climb.

People do realize that Mahomes and Purdy in terms of "stature" are the same? Mahomes has 5 lbs and is 1 inch taller than Purdy while having the same hand size. With that said, it's obvious Mahomes is on another level - he's the best in the NFL. Just find it funny that they act like Purdy doesn't have the "stature."

Hey guys! 49ers fan since 1982. Heres how you win 49ers. Throw deep and early. Do not establish the run in the 1st quarter. Score fast and early. That will make Mahomes throw more and allow our D line to get to the QB. Don't allow chiefs to feel they have the time to run the ball. Trust me ... fast scoring.. fast pace will win this game! Chiefs will plan for the 49ers to run a lot. Don't! Pass a lot!

    Farve-Rogers had 2sb ,Peyton and Luck 1.
Great organizations, talent evaluators, and developers.... are seldom seen in continuation in a single team.
Mahomes is good, but not the goat just yet.
And we haven't even talked about Brady.

MAHOMES HAS #1 O LINE IN NFL. HE HAS ALL DAY TO THROW. BROCK OLINE IS RANK 26 OUT OF 32 TEAM!! And brock is RANK #1 AGAINST THE BLITz😂😂😂

Chiefs' tackles have been bad for most of the year. Most penalized and poor blocking. The lack of sacks has been Mahomes' movement, wasted plays from rushed throws, and keeping extra players in to block. He has not had all day to throw. It is probably the real reason for the regression of the Chiefs offense even though the receivers get all the blame.

Mahomes graduated year before last year. That’s why he went last year and it is why he’s back this year with his receiving core getting worse each year.

He's doing things that have never been done before at a pace that is unheard of in any sport. He is consistently besting the future HOF peers of his time with a ever-degrading roster. The "experts" know enough to recognize it . . . even if you don't.

What's so great about Mahomes? He's a product of Andy Reid's system. He also has Kelce, Valdes-Scantling, Rice, Watson, and Pacheco propping him up. Take away his coach and playmakers and he's nothing more than a mediocre QB at best.

Patrick Mahomes is NOT the prototype QB. Purdy is. Mahomes has Neanderthal tools of brute force, which overcome opposition most of the time. But the world is entering the Age of Aquarius, which is the AGE OF THOUGHT. And Purdy exemplifies that Age. THOUGHT OVERCOMES BRUTE FORCE. I believe that Purdy will outshine all other QB's in the end. So we should not be surprised if he prevails this time, and for a long time to come. Talking heads who keep repeating the mantra that "you cannot bet against Mahomes", forget that he is playing against 11 others, not just Purdy. Are not the odds against him?

The San Francisco 40 Whiners team, owners, coaches and fans act like a gang of loser chumps. Yawl complain about officiating instead of taking responsibility for poor play. Yawl complain about practice fields and holding calls and "Nobody loves our cute little Purdy enough." KC is an organization and a city of Champions. KC doesn't complain, doesn't talk smack, and leaves the talking to the football field.
