Fantastic content and editing in this video. I can’t imagine how much work it does to create them but believe me for the entertainment value of living vicariously it’s much appreciated
Thank you 🙏 I’m not gonna say it’s easy making the videos, but I have to admit that I enjoy making them. And I have to confess that It’s so satisfying to hear when others enjoy as well ☺️
@@SailingAquarius I’m so pleased to see you both back and enjoying the adventure around the world. Sailing and the joy it brings is a rarity lost on many people who can’t slow there minds enough to really get the release created by taming the wind. Even if it’s for a few seconds as it gives the energy to the sail.
Congratulations on the safe passage! It looked like a beautiful passage with the light winds. Fantastic editing on this one I really enjoyed it!! I can’t believe you picked up two knots with the mizzen ballooner that is amazing and never seen one flown before! Enjoy the Maldives!!
I’ve been following your travels since the beginning. I’ve just got to say that this vid might just be at the top of hill from my perspective. So well done…thank you! Cheers from Anacortes
First time to watch your channel. You two work as a great team. I really enjoyed your video. My wife and I can’t wait to share the ocean with you.We have a two year plan.Best of luck in your travels.
That passage turned out easy, but we were very worried in the beginning due to the lack of wind. Wind came up a bit in the last half of the passage, so we ended up only burning 260 liters. Still had over 1/2 tank and all the fuel on the deck. We were very happy about that, because we thought we may have to stop in Sri Lanka to pick up more fuel.
Great video and interesting to se how the crossing was for you guys. Looking forward to the next video and maybe you get so meet the crazy Swedish guy I hear so much about.
Had 66 ft ketch and many time just the genoa & mizzen staysail (that was our name) , Found the main or mizzen didn't make a hell of a lot of difference , Had the MS on a furler . Solid dodger & solid hand rail - Brilliant , Weather downloads not , Fair winds , Great shots , Like you mention the speed & wind speed .
@@SailingAquarius NZ heavily built glass copy of herrishoffs yacht with a extra foot of freeboard , Great tracking yacht , 220 mile days the norm , Mind i did like pushing her & she`d lift her skirt & fly with cracked sheets .
Wow! Did you see those sunglasses wearing the woman? Crazy shades. The good news is when the solar panels get dirty they can always use her sunglasses.
Great video glad you back posting regularly. I see that your chart plotter and iPad you have your COG and heading in true and not magnetic. Can you tell me why you choose to use true. Most sailing channels I watch use magnetic. I understand the difference and how to calculate back and forth. Just curious why some choose to navigate with one over the other. Thanks.
In some cases they are trying to protect their nets, in some cases they just want to pass in front of you because they are superstitious, but in most cases they want cigarets and alcohol.
Congratulations on your safe passage and excellent video. Did you consider getting crew for the crossing. Was the numerous sail changes onerous or well within limits fatigue wise.
Thanks for the questions... No, we don't really need crew if both Admiral Z and I am on board. Aquarius was looking for crew when it was questionable if Admiral Z would return for the Indian Ocean Crossing. The sail changes don't make us tired, I guess it's just the fact you have to go out and make the changes, then 15 minutes later the wind shifts and it's time for another change... But, it was fun doing it...
Fantastic video once again. Have been a long time subscriber and just love your passage videos. I have a question regarding your radio check .... how is Acquilla going to know to give you two clicks if he cannot understand to do just that, and if Acquilla does give two clicks, doesn't that just mean he can read you ?
@@SailingAquarius Hi, yes I did. Love it when channels I regularly watch overlap, even if only a little. Thanks for your hard work in giving us some entertainment, hopefully you stop in Cape Town one day and we can come down to see you.
No, just it always seems like fishing boats likes to come over to you, but we did not encounter any and haven't heard of other sailors having any trouble either.
Sorry about that, over the 5 years we worked out some of the video making techniques, but sound by far remains most difficult, especially in open, windy locations... Apologies...
Thanks guys from Canada here ! Great video looking forward to more 🇨🇦!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Really neat to see all that sail up. That area is always my favorite to pass through.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome back to sailing! Love seeing it
Thank you 😊

How is your experience with the wind generator at the mizzen mast? In my opinion it looks perfekt.
Works OK, but we don't get much benefit from the wind generator. We get much more from Solar.
ЛАЙК !!! 😊👍
You guys are so mellow. Or maybe the Amel allows you to be. How do you think the passage would have been like in a flighty beneteau?
Not sure what to say, can answer only for ourselves :) Also all depends on weather window...

To be honest I don’t know the difference and that was default setting on my iPad 😁 (it’s Z)
I have been watching a couple of your videos, and wondering what charting/navigation software are you using ?
Navionics charts on our pads, and OpenCPN with several charts plus google overlays anywhere it's less than 50 meters.
Thanks - appreciate the reply. Will check them out.
Is that fuvahmulah at the end ??
No, I believe it's Uligan.
Do you think the fishing boats are just trying to keep you clear of their nets or fishing grounds? Just a thought.
In some cases they are trying to protect their nets, in some cases they just want to pass in front of you because they are superstitious, but in most cases they want cigarets and alcohol.

I thought the same, but I didn't get a click, so no click is as good as two clicks! :)
@@SailingAquarius ok. Fair winds to you
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Thanks!!
Sally forth !!!
Is that a Paul Pierce jersey your are wearing? Its too bad its for the Nets and not the Celtics. 🙂
👍
There is a weather guru in South Africa that can help you with route planning according to the weather systems! Don't remember his name !
Would be helpful to know who he is if by any chance you might remember. Thanks!
Do you all ever take on crew that pay their full share to help with crossings?
The thing is - we don’t need help, to be brutally honest, on the crossings it would be more of an inconvenience…
I just watched a Zatara video and I thought I saw your boat.
It was us! You will see them in our video too 😁 Fun people!

Yes, it is nice!
Have you encountered any pirates in this region?
No, just it always seems like fishing boats likes to come over to you, but we did not encounter any and haven't heard of other sailors having any trouble either.
Great content , nice boat, but could you loose those sunglasses 🕶 as they really just don’t work for you 🙌
Thank you Randy! For watching and commenting. But I can’t promise regarding 🕶 ☺️🥰🤦♀️
I have no comment - just enjoy....
Awesome :)
Good video but with my volume turned all the way up I could barely hear your voices

WTF is she wearing diving goggles on deck...🤣🤣ridiculous...
Lol 😂
Go ahead and say it, Cap. Understanding the wind is like understanding a woman. Maybe easier.
😜
Well said Colin, Captain Ken
You should loose the Elton John glasses.
Thanks for suggesting, but sorry - not ready for that yet… 🙄
Ah Ah ! The gllasses of death too funny
🤣
