Exactly...very well spotted 👍 I was thinking the same thing. Before that the terrace door was never locked it seems. Like there were blood stains on the stairs leading up to the terrace. How can they miss that... like wtf was going on.
The police are easily bribed in India. You can get away with murder by incompetent police (bribed off). Which obviously is very bad especially if you have no money and you are looking for justice. Unfair
@@CosmosChill7649 Couldn't agree more...this is 100% correct 👍...The police department in India is there only to serve the rich and highly influential people like corrupt politicians and they harass the poor. Hate the police here. There is nothing like an honest police officer in India.
The fact that the parents right away said Hemraj did it , asked the maid to clean the rooms while the police is still there and stopped the police from going to the terrace says so many things. The crime scene was contaminated too.
I have a theory. Considering they suspect she was raped, I think possibly the man living there (sorry bad with names) had been grooming and sexually assaulting her. He could have threatened her to say it was consensual if they were caught. On top of that, some cultures still believe that a girl/woman is just as much to blame when she’s raped and “unclean”. This has lead to male family members killing the girl/victim in the past, extremely sad and horrific. If the father found his daughter being raped, and she tried to protect her family by saying it was consensual, he could have gone into a rage and killed them both. It would explain everything, including the coverup by both him and his wife.
@@tinydream Parents were too stoic and poised throughout. Their only daughter of 13 yrs killed so brutally. I never heard them even once, ask forcefully for Justice, for the Law to find the killers. They were just wooden with well rehearsed and matching stories. But when a lawyer activist knifed The Father outside the Courts, the Father started crying profusely. 😂😂😂😂
Why is it only speculated that the father caught his daughter in a compromising position? Why was it never considered that Hemraj caught Rajesh abusing his daughter? His wife said he felt fatherly towards Arushi. The boyfriend said she had been having problems with her father. If something had been going on, low-key, and that night it escalated, he, Hemraj, might have felt he needed to step in. Which led to his murder, and then Arushi‘s, in order to prevent her from spilling the beans, about the abuse and subsequent murder. That to me seems the most likely.
Yesss!!Yess!!! This is what I was thinking too. I feel like that Hemraj was killed trying to protect the poor girl. Parental SA is such a tabooh but it happens and in many places like India it is always kept so hidden. Your scenerio makes so much sense.
My thoughts exactly, why allow all those people into their house??? I'm sure they were well aware of the risk of contaminating the evidence before the police arrived.
The father obviously knew that Hemraj was dead on the balcony, because he paid for the police to not search the balcony. Your theory seems very plausible.
My heart breaks that Hemraj was vilified as the killer, only to find out that he most likely died defending her. Tragically for both victims, this case cannot ever be definitively solved due to the state of the crime scene.
Things that really stand out for me and make me believe that the parents are the ones that committed the murders: 1. Blaming Hemraj from the get go, without any evidence. 2. Destroying and tampering with the evidence by allowing media and other people inside and having the crime scene cleaned up 3. Bribing the police 4. Asking to keep the mention of rape out of the autopsy report. 5. Cleaning her vagina 6. Saying they don’t want to throw any allegations on anyone and then saying it’s possible that it could be the help when they’ve already got alibis.
I have watched several videos about murders in India and in all the cases the crime scene was contaminated because a lot of people were allowed into the crime scene including family members and media were allowed in while the bodies were still laying there.
I agree. Most plausible explanation is Rajest got angry and snapped and killed her. either he was sexually assaulting her or not. However, what i find hard to accept is a mother covering up for her husband? even after all these years? One other angle is - Hemraj's friend attacked Arushi and Hemraj was trying to help, and in the process killed. but this theory seems far fetched when parents were acting shady
@@madmax797 bruh the truth when it comes to India is that justice seldom prevails, the cops contaminated the whole crime scene , their way of solving crime is just by pointing fingers instead of hard evidence, you should come live here to see for yourself

Exactly you cannot sleep in the next room and do not realize what is happening in the room next to yours. If the Father was drunk The Mother atleast wasn't and she could've heard it. I remember this case being all over the news. When Hemraj's body was discovered in the same building, who had already been reported the prime suspect, even not knowing much about how these things work, I was shocked that the whole building hadn't been searched at the very first. The investigation of this case was so thoroughly ruined, it's a shame.

@@ilyaskashmiri4903 Seriously ??? Arushi was 13 yr old & even if she had an affair it would be considered rape by law as she is minor... Parents could have easily lied saying Hemraj was raping my daughter so I killed the servant in anger & daughter by mistake??? They don't need to hide anything if they could get sympathy from court & less punishment. If police has contaminated crime scene then how can you say for sure outsiders have not come. The parents room had loud AC hence they couldn't hear anything. Please watch the CNA 4 part documentary on this, it'll raise so many questions on how CBI team conducted investigation & manipulated the evidence. And the servants from Nepal, Krishna is missing & has gone crazy (maybe because of guilt) & another servant Rajkumar showed body langauge signs of NPD. These 2 servants are murderers
The parents absolutely did it. No question. They lock her in her room, they don't even seemed phased by the police botching the case, they INTENTIONALLY had evidence cleaned! What innocent parents do that??
Umm not necessarily disagreeing with your opinion but her door locked from the inside and needed a key to access it from the outside. So thats why the mom had a key on her nightstand. Not the other way around.
Like a comment from above says, I believe the father was drunk on his whiskey and was compromising his daughter when Hemraj discovered them. Hemraj looked upon the daughter as his own daughter and may have came to her rescue inturn being killed by the father and dragged up to the terrace where he was dumped and the door remained locked. The evidence of blood trail proves he was moved up there. Also the daughter's boyfriend claimed she was having difficulty with her father leading up to this. I definitely think he was the killer and in his drunken panic chose to slay his daughter aswell so as to keep her quiet and not have his reputation tarnished. The mother too helped cover it all up.
Please don't try to understand Indian people by your standards. Indians are different. Her parents were super chill and father and daughter had endless talks and discussions. India doesn't have a very sophisticated system of investigation. No crime scene expert accompanies the police. And we in India know it's a helpless system so we have learnt to just get on. I know countless people who just give up because they don't have the strength to fight a corrupt system. And the state of UP is most corrupt in India. Also Hindus believe in karma. Karma js a Hindu word. So they don't really believe in helping the justice system
I honestly feel the parents or one parent has something to do with both deaths. Hamraj (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) was killed for trying to protect the daughter. I think he walked in on her being attacked or he knew something going on in the home and felt the need to protect her but was killed in the process. And with this family's status in the community I'm sure they can cover up what really happened.
There are many theories some say the daughter was caught in a compromising position with the servant . Dad got mad killed them both and later tried to cover it .
Or the dad killed Hemraj before/after killing his daughter because he needed someone to blame. The police spent the first two days searching for Hemraj instead of thoroughly investigating the crime scene because they were convinced he was the murderer.
Actually they are innocents how can someone brutally murder their only child for a moment we can take servant there are many evidences which shows they aren't culprits it was someone else only who did this and got escaped cleverly & professionally damn
I remember this case, especially because I was the same age as Arushi when it happened. I remember my parents and relatives talking about the case at family dinners and outings. I recall thinking how one is not safe even in one’s own house. What a beautiful girl Arushi was, may her soul rest in peace 💐
True, I was also of same age as hers then. This is what I think. Often times, especially where a complex crime is committed like this which involves 2 murders (related or unrelated we dont know), I cannot even trust the police report because even with all evidences, there still is 5% chance that innocent people are put in jail; as has been the case in the country in the past. It is very rare for a rich and influential person who has committed a crime to sit behind bars, not only in India but in most countries. This is one such case. If Talwars were not the culprit, then trust me they would not have left any stone unturned to catch the actual culprits. They are intelligent people and they knew from the beginning that it is a game of evidences, and this they achieved successfully by allowing for a shoddy investigation during the first week of investigation. They had successfully executed their plan by that time and even if they were implicated still, they knew very well that evidences would never be sufficient for a long term punishment. Being both parents doctors, it can be safely assumed that they are not fools.
@@Sana-ik8fo I understand your point. Keeping in mind that one could never tell what went on in that house that night except the killers and the victims, I don’t think it’s okay to blatantly blame the parents because there was nobody else to blame. In this case, the parents were announced guilty until proven innocent, this is a direct result of having a ridiculous investigation and a joke for law enforcement. The whole case was so focused on the parents, that I don’t think they even had a chance to actually try and find the culprits. Now I don’t think the parents are innocent, all I’m saying is that the evidence could be hampered with by any party i.e., the parents, the servants/drivers, the cops, the CBI etc It’s sad but unfortunately that’s the reality of this case that we’ll all just have to accept.

I didn't believe it then and won't believe it now. We may never know what happened that night. Everything is messed up. RIP beautiful girl
NEws in India is fucked up. How can a 14 year old have sexual relationship with a 45 year old. It will be called sexual assault in every other country because she is a minor.
Parents definitely did it. They are doctors and should have known better. After the murders they allowed the scene to be contaminated by many people. I think this was intentional. They wanted the evidence to be destroyed. I also believe the father was abusing his daughter and the helper must have heard her scream and come to her defense.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that in 2008 a police investigation should go that bad. That entire city should be ashamed of their police department and the press for bursting into the scene. I hope there were some serious changes in policy after this. With the dna advances at that time this should have been a solved case. The terrace being locked and not investigated was outrageous. I’m so mad they were so brutally murdered in such a sloppily way and still did not get any justice. Boy they just arrest people without any evidence. Plus giving people a truth serum. I’m so mad. It’s like ok it was the parents. Wait no. Ok maybe. No not them. Ok yes it must have been. Well…
Although there have been some improvements in laws around the country, sadly Police's approach to solving cases has not improved much, specifically in the state of Uttar Pradesh where this murder took place, it remains a State with one of the highest crime rates in the country specifically sexual crimes against women.
@Nick Young I have watched a lot of videos on this channel and there is a stark contrast in how such cases are handled in developed vs developing countries. Delayed action is so common that it's a norm here. In cases from US and Europe I see police rushing to secure the crime scene and preserve every single piece of forensic and DNA evidence and still sometimes struggle to find the actual criminals. In our country, media and huge crowds will reach before the police to get those first pictures. Cases being solved by DNA evidence is a rare occurrence.
@Nick Young yes I watch this channel all the time and it’s so frustrating watching the ones that are not investigated well or when they to long to respond. I really wanted justice for these two.
"oh hey our daughter was murdered but you can all come and contaminate the crime scene, don't break any doors to find the murderer or the weapon." They are diabolical. And they waited for the maid to see their dead daughter?
My gut tells me that the mother was in fact waiting for the maid to come, she led her in,and actually waited for her to tell the neighbours. I think it was this way. I found it weird, unnatural. Even later mom.was deadpan.
The parents are pathetic. "We don't want to blame anyone". No tears, nothing. That dame has her arms crossed, talking about how they cry at night. Two people's throats slit, and they "have nothing". Ya'll really know how to tell a story, thank you so much. Rest in Peace, Arushi.

The contradictory part here is that the parents never called the police a neighbor asked the security of the gated community to call the police and by that time all evidence was contaminated or destroyed. When the police arrived on the crime scene there were 12-15 people in the house. Even the forensic policeman collecting evidence said most of the fingerprints had been smudged comprised. Sab vaasta ki baat hai, such people have connection in high up places and one phone call can change the story. Their daughter has died in a mysterious way and they are requesting the Post Mortem doctors not to mention rape? They could not protect the daughter, but worry about family honour which to me is also suspicious. Poor arushi just lay there in her bed and died taking the truth with her. See the nirbhaya case - it happened in delhi, 4 hanged - their backgrounds were dalit etc etc basically they were poor. See Talwar case - again in delhi - 50 days in prison and out with no evidence to prove they were innocent, let loose on emotional grounds cause parents cant do it. Look at the Sheena Bora case - that mother of hers is doing womens rights or jail rights from her cell...no remorse. Crimes happen at every level.....but the rope is too weak for the people with contacts. This was either an honour killing, or a case of sexual abuse by the father which was seen by hemraj. Arushi had to die as she might have given away who killed hemraj and why. Alot goes on in regular families that is never revealed, but nothing is impossible.

This case for me has always equated to the Jon Benet Ramsey case. A child dead, in a house with limited people at the time and in both cases the crime scene was tampered with, rooms/terrace in this case were locked/not allowed access to. Both cases educated and well placed parents invited support who in turn formed early conclusions and helped knowingly or unknowingly with the contamination and clean up of the scene. Sodium pentothal would never work in this manner l agree because they fed all 3 the crime details so of course they would or could speak about them whilst mixing in thoughts already in their memories. That's exactly what one of them did although he wasn't able to give the details that they needed that were not fed to him to begin with. Precisely why he was given the med in the first place.
The body language in the interview with the parents says it all. Especially the mom leaning farther and farther away from the dad. The crossed arms. All defensiveness.
I did not watch the whole episode but am aware of what I had read in newspapers/ watched on TV those days. Many questions remain unanswered. 1. Arushi and Hemraj's throats were slit by a surgically trained person and in both cases, the jugular veins were cut. Only a doctor would know how to cut the jugular vein. Initially, Hemraj and other male house help were blamed for the murder. House helps do not have to be 'surgically trained' to chop veggies! 2. As doctors why did the parents not preserve the victim's viscera? They did know that the viscera report would have nailed the culprit. 3. Why the hush-hush cremation the next morning and immediate ash imersion without informing the police, family, and friends? 4. Who cleaned up the victim's private parts? Except for the parents, there was no third person in the house. Why did they clean her up? As doctors, the parents knew how to get rid of evidence to protect the murderer. The parents ensured to clean up all evidence ASAP including cremation. 5. None bothered to check the incest angle. 6. While the investigation was going on (TV), the mother did not break down even once. How is that possible? The daughter was born 10 years after marriage (according to newspapers) and was the only child? I am aware that some women can be tough but how can one not feel for an only child who was born after 10 years of marriage? Personally, I find it strange. 7. The mother did break down finally when she was sentenced with her husband. She broke down again while she was being interviewed inside the jail. I find it bizarre. A woman who did not cry when her only teen daughter is brutally murdered cried because she was convicted. 8. Do not recollect any boyfriend angle in the case. 9. The flat is not so huge that while two murders were being committed, one body was dragged to the terrace after opening the locked gate, and the parents continued to sleep soundly? Find it difficult to digest. 10. I often think about the kid and pray she gets justice and the murderers are caught and put behind for life. You cannot kill a kid full of life and forget about it. 11. Why are the parents not pursuing the case and seeking justice for the brutal murder of their only child? Heartless parents!
This is an excellent analisis! Parents were suspecting something odd that made them to suspect that their own child would have been hiding from them; It was said that their daughter changed in those days. Probably, the child told her parents about someone was sexually abusing her and she named it. Parents could promised their daughter that nothing was going to happen to her that they needed her to help them to caught the one who was sexually abusing her. OR her parents wanted to caught them in that sexual act. Mother didn't lock her room's door, while her child was asleep or pretending being asleep, so she could not lock the door from inside..... A gross honor killing indeed!
Its the parents, everyone knows but no solid evidence to charge them...its so sad..all the evidences was tampered. I rightfully agree with all your points, I also feel bad for Hemraj, he was an innocent house help, but had to die in the tragic way possible. Hemraj used to work there , stay far away from home and own family. Both the victims didn't deserve to die this way...the young girl had miles to go. And as you said the mother broke down when they were being charged in the first place for the murder.. that's the perk of a sociopath..I think the parents are absolute sociopaths to murder their own daughter and then cover it up that too very minutely...they have cleared the crime scene just like a psychopath.
Sad her mother went through a bunch of ivf treatments to conceive her daughter only to allow her to be killed by her father later in life. Makes no sense.

Actually they are innocents how can someone brutally murder their only child for a moment we can take servant there are many evidences which shows they aren't culprits it was someone else only who did this and got escaped cleverly & professionally damn
Sadly Rajesh and Nupur Talwar cannot accept the truth publicly that Aarushi and Hemraj were caught in a compromising position that's why in rage her father Rajesh Talwar murdered them as ppl will laugh at Aarushi for her conduct so they are doing this to protect Aarushi's dignity.....
This is a case study on how badly the cops, media and corruption could botch a case. This case was so widely covered on the media when it has just happened, as if this was a reality show. The smallest detail would become breaking news. Very well covered, this gives better closure to a lot of us who did not know the other details the media did not reveal.
I hope I'm never accused of a crime in India. I've never seen police, medical investigators, etc. like that. It was like they were pretending to be cops. What kind of press conference was that?
Yes we have seen how police are always morally exemplary in other countries like sarah everard in london or george floyd in usa or lock up deaths in aborginals in australia etc eh ?
💯 the Dad is the main culprit for both murders. Can’t believe all evidence was tampered and contaminated with! Why were the police so careless? 🤷🏻♀️ The parents interview was simply one of the most cold blooded and calculated without showing any emotions. How can such parents that fully know their child has been brutally murdered sit there and speak like as if she didn’t matter much to them! Shocking! Totally shocking!!
Here's my thought. The parents had an inkling about her boyfriend and didn't want her to chat with him. Hence, they wanted to turn off the wifi router. And Aarushi turned it back on and started chatting , when her dad came to know about this he started hitting her in rage only to be intervened by Hemraj. This angered Rajesh Talwar and in a fit of rage killed Hemraj in front of Arushi. Fearing she will spill the beans, he killed her too to save his image in society. Then dragged out Hemraj's body and his wife played the role of an accomplice and opened the terrace door while Rajesh was dragging the domestic help's body. Dumped his body upstairs and locked the terrace door. Came back to their apartment and Rajesh went and started to drink whiskey, while his wife placed those toys on the mattress and lowered her daughter's pants exposing her rear to make it look like she was sexually assaulted by Hemraj. Then both of them cleaned the house removing their fingerprints. In the morning when the maid arrived, Rajesh calls the maid to Aarushi's room and showing her tells," look what he has done to her". Who on earth does that? He just wanted to pin the blame on Hemraj and have people believe that he did it, so maid will spread the rumour to people. The verdict is the dad killed them both, the mother an accomplice who covered it up.
100%. The helper saw the little girl as his own daughter and there's no doubt he intervened. The father was enraged that his authority to beat his own daughter would be challenged and he beat the man to death and then to save his own skin he killed the only witness ; his own daughter. He then drank and him and his wife covered it all up. he didn’t want the coroner to look into any rape possibilities because it would come out that she did not get raped so this way they could continue to say that the guy had molested her or that somebody had molested her and killed her so yes in the end sadly that man was not a very good father. The way that you have assessed it 100% makes sense
@@samsamcupcakes6476 That's mostly because Hemraj was knocked unconscious with the golf club and was only slightly bleeding. Then he was dragged by the parents and some blood stains were found on the stairs leading up to the terrace. Once his body was dumped on the terrace, they slit his throat while he was in an unconscious state.
The quality of content provided is always superb! Very informative, respectful to everyone involved, and not overly dramatized. I get very excited when you post, thank you for your excellent work!
Like another comment below says, I believe the father was drunk on his whiskey and was compromising his daughter when Hemraj discovered them. The mother too helped cover it all up

The interview that the parents did their body language is just really off to me I'm going to go ahead and say I feel that they know exactly what happened to their daughter
This is perhaps the most beautifully told documentary I've ever seen, and I'm a 51 year old guy who's been following media documentaries since my early teens. The case is a total mess, and the makers finished it off so completely by leaving the final words to Aarushi's friend Fisa(?) who so eloquently explained her feelings about the case.
I remember this news I don't know why is this still a mystery when anyone can say what really happened. Years later I still say that the father has something to do with the murder and Hemraj was a witness so he had to be silenced. I read many articles and few of them did mention that she and her father didn't see eye to eye and the day of her death her parents had few drinks before going to bed. It is really heartbreaking.
I believe parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar cannot accept the truth publicly that their daughter Aarushi and servant Hemraj were caught in a compromising position that's why in rage her father Rajesh Talwar murdered them as ppl will laugh at Aarushi for her conduct so they are doing this to protect Aarushi's dignity.....
Great video. But this is so convoluted that I had to press pause and go on Wikipedia for a few minutes just to understand and differentiate between all those names. By the end ,I was 100% convinced that it was the dad who killed them, his wife helped covered it up ,and he also probably SA his daughter and the servant was a witness to this and he had to go too. Tragic
I agree.. I think that’s what happened.. somehow the servant found out or walked in on the father doing something to his daughter and that was the only way he would be able to silence both of them. It’s the only scenario that really makes sense.
Why not the father walked in on the servant and killed them out of rage? What are the probability that the servant would walk in on dad,and the dad walking in on the servant? I think the latter is more probable. If really the mum knew and covered for him then the theory of the dad been the abuser wouldn't make much sense.

I find it strange that some people seem to feel that this case is a complete mystery, because to me, without doubt or question, the parents are the only 2 people it could possibly be...all points & logic points right back at the parents. Although, granted, the Indian police seem to be very primitive & incompetent with the way that they investigated but still, the parents seem to be the guilty party.
The thing with Indian police is that they just catch all the possible suspects, beat them up endlessly until one of them accepts and tells the whole story, it's been happening for a long time, and this case happened in 2008 , it's been 14 yrs and there have been considerable technological advancements in the Indian police system however the brutal beating up of suspects still happens lol
No intruder came in was unanimous conclusion by all investigative teams, so it's obvious who did it. They obliterated all evidence and pinned blame on shoddy police probe. The way the parents were shying away from blaming anyone else is a give away. Not an iota of grief on their face. And look at how their service in jail, free dental care for inmates is being lauded. Is it hard to see, that press has been bought?
yes!!!! its not confusing, the confusion is about the evidence! because of lack of solid evidence, the parents were not guilty...that was the confusion.
Wow! Thank you TC crew for the hard work that each of you did to create yet another fantastic episode. I was unaware of this case. It's shocking how many people were in & near the crime scene ruining all of that important evidence & how badly the entire investigation was handled. Cringy.
finally glad that someone is covering this case. there have been many movie adaptations of this case and everytime i hear about it its just so breathtaking!
The parents claiming it was the police covering up poor handling of the case... While literally bribing police, and cleaning and contaminating the crime scene at the same time.... Who would believe that?
Watching from the United States, crazy how different each country handles murder cases. I like that this channel has a wide range of different stories from around the world also
I think the parents did it. Their behavior is just too strange and mysterious to not be involved. I think Hamraj (spelling?) walked in on something horrible happening and was killed when he decided to talk.
Hemraj met Usha Thakur social worker saying he feared for his life, just few hours before he was killed. So it wasn't a sudden walk in thing. He felt threatened from before. Usha Thakur interview videos are there on TH-cam and also she was a witness in the case to confirm the same. She had suggested him to tell his employer and police. But he didn't which means he was threatened by rajesh talwar and police would not believe a servants version over a rich owner.
Can someone confirm if I heard this right or not please So I thought I heard them say that the dad announced “look what hemrage did!” After he found his daughters body And later in an interview did the parents say they didn’t consider hemrage the suspect until the police said so? I think I misheard the interview lol
It's so shocking to see the law enforcement and forensic department in India is failing in 2008. The offender is clear and loud yet no evidence hard to consume. Documentary well articulated. Rip young girl.
Wow! You covered this like a rock star! Was on the edge of my seat the whole time! So much incompetance on the part of the police. Thanks for covering this.
One of the most baffling cases I’ve come across. Don’t want to believe that the parents could do this to their only child but the evidence points otherwise!! Truly sad..
Actually the evidence doesn’t show anything. Everything was so contaminated or misinterpreted it was screwed up from the start. The only thing that does make me wonder about them was that as doctor/dentists surely they would have understood the need for keeping the crime scene pristine but they apparently let 2 dozen people in the apartment before the police showed up. But then maybe the maid let them in and the parents were too upset to think about that
@@suekelley2109 I thought it was odd too that they let it get so chaotic. But dentist or not cultural things run deep, and death is something I find a lot of cultures, even that are very science based, throw science out the window for and it becomes very ceremonial or ritualistic if that makes sense.
You can understand how wealthy & influential 'Talvars' are by the fact that a Bollywood movie with big names was made to defend them. It's pretty clear the parents are the culprits. PS: Their only daughter was killed and they show no emotion....such poker faced criminals.

The Talwar's house is barely a kilometer from my place & I literally saw it developing on a day-to-day basis. The police investigation was an embarrassment. A group of 5-7 policemen would go to the house & sit around discussing theories and betting on them. They would take their lunches inside the crime scene since it would be hot outside & they wanted AC. The Talwars are a good couple & have been giving back to society by treating patients for free for a long time. It certainly doesn't mean that they are innocent but the people who know them find it extremely hard to fathom their guilt. It's a travesty of justice brought on by our inefficient investigating agencies. I hope this case gets solved & Aarushi and Hemraj get the justice they deserve.

One thing I've always felt strange about this incident is that 2ppl from the same house are brutally killed but parents left unharmed. The house isn't even that big for an outsider to not notice there's someone right next to the room they're killing in? Hearing about the bribe and terrace check the first time. Were these two points never brought up in court?
I find it hard to believe that two violent murders could take place in a small apartment without the parents knowledge, it's also unlikely that an outsider would fix himself a scotch before leaving the scene. Unfortunately the forensic evidence was not secured or processed correctly and any motives seem to be based only on speculation. Sherlock Holmes's definition of the truth is unfortunately not sufficient for a court of law.
Motive in my opinion should not be a necessary part of proving the case. Only the cold logic of who had the means and opportunity to both commit the crime and to cover it up afterwards. If you must have a motive then consider the motive to cover up the crime, to hide Hemraj from sight and then later to restrict access to the terrace. Who would have motive to clean the scene and the body? Only someone who owned the house. No one else would care to cover it up, they would flee and be done with it.
@@zombrero7870 I don't think motive is necessary to prove a case but I think suspects with a motive and opportunity will be looked at before those who only have opportunity. Without evidence however I think a conviction is unlikely in either case but I am not an expert, I was neither a policeman or a prosecutor.
@@shariwelch8760 Of course you are correct, That which I find hard to believe is irrelevant, gullibility varies from person to person. It's what the police and the courts believe that matters.

This was a great video. The media circus and the lack of proper investigation are the main reason why this case is so much fucked up to its core. Also Indian courts work at snail pace so this case will probably still be on courts until the parents or any other possible culprits are dead. RIP Aarushi and Hemraj.
It is very strange that parents who lost their young daughter from the start were having a defensive posture instead of strongly urging the authorities to find the real culprits. Lack of emotions at the time of the incident indicates their minds were more pre-occupied with how to cover up or answer questions by the police. After seeing their daughter brutally murdered, they were expected to immediately call the police for help considering their own lives could be in danger. As part of medical profession they should been conscious and protested the contamination of the crime scene by media people having opportunity to enter the premises and contaminating the crime scene.
One of the best deep dive videos into this case I have ever seen Bravo! This is becoming my favorite TH-cam true crime channel and we know there's like 50 other good ones
The haste to cremate, the want to keep rape out of reports, the haste to clean up the evidence. Local police allowed the media also parents did not stop from contamination, these were the doctors who knew about DNA and evidences. They were more about keeping up a respectable front. I think the issue that happened was crazy media attention. And it is very easy to blame the male, poor, non Indian helpers. These people should have been the first people to make sure the evidence was there and preserved.
Dad offering to bribe the police to search the streets instead of letting them on the terrace was the single biggest reg flag to me.
Exactly...very well spotted 👍 I was thinking the same thing. Before that the terrace door was never locked it seems. Like there were blood stains on the stairs leading up to the terrace. How can they miss that... like wtf was going on.
Did he also ask not to check if his daughter was sexually assaulted?
The police are easily bribed in India. You can get away with murder by incompetent police (bribed off). Which obviously is very bad especially if you have no money and you are looking for justice. Unfair
The father committed these murders.

@susan ivy That was the police's version. No evidence yo prove that. Only hearsay
The police did a shoddy job, no doubt about it. Looks much of the evidence was wiped out right in front of the police.
It is exactly what happened. He was drunk, tied to abuse her and Hemraj came to the rescue. The Dad killed them both and the Mom helped cover it up.
Dayum, you just cracked it. This is a brilliant perspective, no wonder they rush for her cremation, no mention of rape, what not, this lines up.

Things that really stand out for me and make me believe that the parents are the ones that committed the murders:
1. Blaming Hemraj from the get go, without any evidence.
2. Destroying and tampering with the evidence by allowing media and other people inside and having the crime scene cleaned up
3. Bribing the police
4. Asking to keep the mention of rape out of the autopsy report.
5. Cleaning her vagina

Also, india just does things very differently. Its cultural. There were 15 people in her house when the police showed up. I imagine all family.
No it's the servant... The murder weapon was found from the servants house with blood all over it...

@@Sana-ik8fo I understand your point. Keeping in mind that one could never tell what went on in that house that night except the killers and the victims, I don’t think it’s okay to blatantly blame the parents because there was nobody else to blame. The whole case was so focused on the parents, that I don’t think they even had a chance to actually try and find the culprits.
Not true, Arushi's childhood friend had said that she loved her parents

It’s absolutely ridiculous that in 2008 a police investigation should go that bad. That entire city should be ashamed of their police department and the press for bursting into the scene. I hope there were some serious changes in policy after this. With the dna advances at that time this should have been a solved case. The terrace being locked and not investigated was outrageous.
"The terrace being locked and not investigated was outrageous"

Well said! Who tells their house help “come, look what HemRaj has done?” Instead of calling an ambulance? The parents are 100% guilty.
But why didn't they find anything, any blood from Hemraj?
@@SanketKulkarni10 yeaaaa so true
@@samsamcupcakes6476 That's mostly because Hemraj was knocked unconscious with the golf club and was only slightly bleeding. Then he was dragged by the parents and some blood stains were found on the stairs leading up to the terrace. Horrible how uncontrolled the crime scene was, but touching to see how fiercely the community rallied for justice for Aarushi.
Incredible video, looks like the video about the Talwar case was made more professionally than the actual investigation about the case.
Like another comment below says, I believe the father was drunk on his whiskey and was compromising his daughter when Hemraj discovered them. The mother too helped cover it all up
a teenager having difficulty with her father, that's something I've never heard before

The interview that the parents did their body language is just really off to me I'm going to go ahead and say I feel that they know exactly what happened to their daughter
Agree
even the interviewer is not convinced...he keeps cutting them
This is perhaps the most beautifully told documentary I've ever seen, and I'm a 51 year old guy who's been following media documentaries since my early teens. The case is a total mess, and the makers finished it off so completely by leaving the final words to Aarushi's friend Fisa(?) who so eloquently explained her feelings about the case.
What a story. And again I’d like to thank your amazing channel for bringing such a case to our attention. Amazing work guys ❤️
Only FDP can solve this case if DNA samples are still preserved and are suitable or aarushi's reincarnation
Lumens I agreed with you fully.
Why not the father walked in on the servant and killed them out of rage? What are the probability that the servant would walk in on dad,and the dad walking in on the servant? I think the latter is more probable. If really the mum knew and covered for him then the theory of the dad been the abuser wouldn't make much sense.
@@sadiyasaleh233 maybe is was not as much as 'walking in ' on someone. Perhaps she screamed or something and the servant heard.

Dr Nupoor was my doctor as a kid. She worked in a dental clinic at Khan market in Delhi with Dr Metta. Both very good doctors having treated my grand parents, my parents and myself. @@ilyaskashmiri4903How can you say something like that? Compromising position? Are you fr? Why would they kill their daughter and not just the servant. Logically that’s what any parent would do. He has no emotion towards that girl.
I just think indian police is capable of they want to be.. n most of the times they are corrupted or act like they r incompetent
How can they kill there only child which they got after so many years of ivf
Wow! Thank you TC crew for the hard work that each of you did to create yet another fantastic episode. I was unaware of this case. It's shocking how many people were in & near the crime scene ruining all of that important evidence & how badly the entire investigation was handled. Cringy.

The parents claiming it was the police covering up poor handling of the case... While literally bribing police, and cleaning and contaminating the crime scene at the same time.... Who would believe that?

I think the parents did it. Their behavior is just too strange and mysterious to not be involved. I think Hamraj (spelling?) walked in on something horrible happening and was killed when he decided to talk.

@@emiliasanchez3637 Thank you for the spelling correction! I'm sad to say, but I can't believe that was never a theory.

One of the most baffling cases I’ve come across. Don’t want to believe that the parents could do this to their only child but the evidence points otherwise!! Truly sad..
I know, but why, after spending so much money on IVF and clearly wanting her badly? It just doesn't make sense.

This clearly shows how inefficient is Indian police service.
Just because something is hard to believe doesn't mean it isn't true.
@@zombrero7870 I don't think motive is necessary to prove a case but I think suspects with a motive and opportunity will be looked at before those who only have opportunity.

The haste to cremate, the want to keep rape out of reports, the haste to clean up the evidence.
