I e used a serger years ago when my kids were young. I made all their shirts, pajamas, robes and even ventured into making jeans. Needless to say, I wore it out. I purchased a new one several years ago and haven’t used it very much at all. I’m expecting two new great grandchildren at the end of the year. I’m going to make receiving blankets and burp cloths. I guess the only real hesitation is threading the darn thing. But at least the directions are on the machine and if I follow the color codes I think I’ll be OK. It would be helpful to go through the setup of the machine for these projects. It looked like you were using both needles, so a 4 stitch overlock setup? On that headband, you could serge a long thread tail and lay it inside the fold for easy turning. These are great serger projects. Thanks!
I have never used a server, I don’t think I could use one to be honest, they look difficult to use to me. Shame as it appears you get a good finish when using them. Liked your ideas thank you.

I recommend you go to a dealer store and ask if they can help you. In you users manual there is a picture with colored threads showing where to place each thread. I was a P.E. teacher at a community college. I also taught ballet, tap, and jazz at a private dance school. I have been sewing since I was 12 years old.
