aaron has taught me that ambrettolide is probably my favorite raw material. It’s that same thing in gentle fluidity silver with the clean, cold, crisp and snappy feeling. I love it so much it definitely matches my personality. Thanks Aaron!

Bought a 100ml for my wife for her summer scent and it's stunning. It's definitely more complex than just citrus (as Fragrantica lists the notes). We went out to dinner the night it arrived and she wore it. I looked like a fool trailing behind her grinning with my nose in the air. It's certainly expensive but I do not regret it at all...and the packaging, as Aaron guessed, is what you'd expect from LV. Definitely worth checking out.
This is the one and only fragrance that was described as being citrus where i really smell citrus! I havent had anything like it i love this fragrance!! Its my perfect match and really really unique

i die for the mandarin note in the parfume, just love it so much! i think you should try LV Imagination too, that's a nice hot weather scent too, with ginger, tea, love that too!

As always, very interesting and informative like all of your reviews. I would love to hear your thoughts on Acqua di Sale and Ambra Aurea from Profumum Roma. Really delicious scents from that house and if I'm not mistaken, I think I heard they use 46%oils in all of their creations

Hence why I bought Perfume Parlours clone, longevity is a little better and you're paying, what, £18 a bottle for an extract % fragrance.
I wore this yesterday. I sprayed it on a 5 a.m. before going to work. Five sprays: one spray back of neck, on on left front of neck, one on right side of neck, one on each wrist. When I got home at 3:30 p.m., my wife could still smell it on me. Fact is, fragrances react and perform differently on different people.

LV Afternoon Swim is one of my absolute favourites, its my signature summer scent, and I find layering it with bleu de chanel parfum makes it a little more mature while still maintaining the playfulness. I like Eros Flame as well but i think Afternoon Swim is more laid back and simple in the best way.

It’s one of my favorite fragrances but unfortunately it doesn’t last long on me :( when I smelled it, it was almost a photo realistic pool with bergamot trees around in LA! I then checked the fragrance and the parfumer wanted to create the smell of a pool in LA! It’s amazing and I wish it lasts longer
Alexandria Fragrances has a dupe called Afternoon Splash that lasts longer :) I get a solid 6 and half hours and it has a great sillage!
It is very posh. I love it I have a sample of it which I will treasure.
Bought a 1ml sample of Afternoon Swim many months ago and that smell has lived in my mind rent free. Fragcomm says it doesn’t perform well longevity wise so it’s not worth the high price, but I’ll be the judge of that when I buy a bigger sample. Smelled pretty amazing to me! And if I buy i bottle I’d definitely spray 7-9 times
I get very solid performance with this one but I can only speak for myself and how it works with my body chemistry. Honestly though it smells so damn good that even if it lasts 4-6 hours on your skin it's still worth the purchase imo. It is amazing. Gotten a ton of compliments with it. Very inoffensive, can wear it casually or to work or on a date. Granted I live in Florida where it's always hot but man I love this one. Plus the reduced price that LV offers to refill bottles will sort of offset the larger price that you pay initially if you refill it a couple of times.
Afternoon Swim and Another 13 are my hot summer staples (worn individually). Afternoon Swim is the best orange/mandarin fragrance I've smelt. It makes a great gym scent. Thoroughly recommended it.

Absolutely spot on you were able to smell those musks directly. They are muscenone, scentolide (captive ambrettolide)
I "blind" bought it, as I was looking for a citric like fragrance for the summer. Instantly became my fav fragrance in general!

I really like watching your takes on fragrances. I am curious about my go to though... Have you reviewed Calvin Klein Eternity EDT for men? I know its old school, not fancy, and cheaper than a most but it would be interesting to see your pro nose review it. It came out in 1990. Either way tho, great video as always!

Totally agree. The only problem I have with it is longevity but being a citrus fragrance, that's to be expected. The alexandria version of it is crazy close and lasts forever too. It's a good one to have in between wearing of the original.
Which alexandria fragrance do you mean? The longevity is the only reason why I’m not willing to buy this fragrance and I’d like to purchase this clone. Pls help

@@TuscanBrick It's really pitiful when a clone house can produce a fragrance with better longevity than the original. Not saying anything against clone houses, either, because people should have choices on how much they're willing to spend on a variety of things, but if I was a perfumer with a top tier scent being beaten out by something that costs a fraction of what my scent is selling for then I would be mortified. Would love to hear Aaron's thoughts on that one...
He’s given quite a few 10’s but his channel has been around a few years. Dior Homme Intense, Initio Side Effect, Xerjoff Alexandria II and I think Naxos, Armani Code Absolu, Black Orchid, definitely some more.

I just bought this so glad it got a 10 from the master😀I own 13 ATH frags and I love the concentration and projection! They last and last and are well priced for the quality inherent in his creations.
How is the smell is it pleasing or not
imo most citrus fragrances don't project much off most people's skin... If you try it in the winter - it's slightly better but the hot humid summers in NYC... for me the heat sucks it right up, and it becomes a skin scent quickly. Depends what your goal is.

Definitely one of the best modern citrus fragrances. It’s smells natural but also it really does give you the atmosphere of taking a dive in a pool on a hot day. It’s definitely worth the hype.
People compare it to tygar by Bvgari and it is like that in the base BUT afternoon swim’s citrus/juicy aspect pops more. Whereas Tygar focuses more on the mids and base😊

Gorgeous, I'm gonna check this one out. Now I'm left wondering what you'd think about Colonia Pura (acqua di Parma). It's a cologne, sure, but I love it for the very hot days... light, airy and citrusy. Doesn't stay too long, but that's the whole point. One or two sprays as a refreshment, a bit of cooling down.

Aaron you make an interesting point about your tattoos. Do you have a hard time projecting because of the ink ? You’re tattooed in all the normal spray points, arms, neck, etc.

With scent DNA but not longevity apparently. I think he would be mortified to know clone houses are producing scents that smell so similar to this that people can't really tell the difference and the performance is better. Someone needs to ask these high level perfumers why clone houses can make virtually the same scent with better projection, better longevity, more consistent batches, etc. I'm genuinely curious to know what the responses would be lol.
@@DarlingNikki2 louis vuitton fragrances perform very well on my skin, most of cavallier’s fragrances do. I get around 6-7 hours with afternoon swim, I won’t complain about that for a freshie.
And clone houses are able to make fragrances with more projection because they stuff them full of aroma chemicals and strip out all the naturals.
@@pwj86772 I'm glad it performs well on you; I'm just going by all the complaints I'm seeing in the comment section. I also know that aromachemicals are used to cause massive projection as I am very sensitive to them, especially that hideous smelling (to me) ambroxan, amber wood, etc.
Speaking about citruses. What do you think about Fiero from Casanorati? It may be berbershoppy, but the lime and lemon notes are quite strong and vivid. I would love to see/hear opinions about it.
Enjoy your reviews! This scent profile is right up my alley (and, yes, I know it's a super non-challenging one!). I was surprised at the 10/10 rating, however, after discovering its price-point (in dollars) online. Seems super high for this type of fragrance, notwithstanding prettiness of packaging. Just sayin'!

Aaron any plans to sell your perfumes directly from Europe? Wanted to order Supernova. But including shipping costs and customs it’s almost 200€ for 50ml. That’s double the price people in UK pay.

I loved this scent when i got a sample of it at LV, man what would you say is the all time best FRESH, aqua, water, clean type scent you have smelled? Any info is much appreciated as I am on the hunt for that particular type of fragrance and have not yet found it
Review Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria. The reviews are so polarizing. Supposedly it doesn't last 45 minutes. I got 8 hours of longevity, consistently. It's a glood example of people going nose blind.
I would love to hear your thoughts on "Stellar times". It's very interesting to me. Don't know what it is about it, but I get a menthol cooling component. I can't figure out how to explain. I'm sure you would know exactly.

The problem with Louis Vuitton is performance is not up to $300 a bottle
No exaggeration this fragrance lasts 30 minutes on my skin.
It’s gorgeous but is devoid of longevity.

Maybe the scent is a 10/10 but as a fragrance due to the performance there's no way it can be 10/10. I would buy it for myself if it lasted and projected well enough
Spot on Aaron-an outstanding scent, but the price is a killer. I found a lovely alternative by Alexandria called Afternoon Splash at almost 1/6th the price. I’d be curious to know what you think once you try it.

I just picked up 21, my brother kept telling me. Especially, it's one of my favorite houses. Love at first smell, picked up MFK Aqua Media. Love that one too, just wish it projected just a tad bit more. Still very nice
