  • The Sydney Royal Easter Show is back! After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Australia’s largest annual ticketed event has returned. But is the show in this slightly different format still a great day out for the whole family?

    Can we all just agree that these kinds of videos made by small channels dont get enough atention for the amount of effort it takes to make them?

    Happy anniversary. Great video that tells us how it is. Great the show managed to be held this year and being the first major entertainment-based event in 12 months it shows people here really needed this form of social gathering.
    I must agree, while the event is Covid safe is also spread out and this is not a bad thing. I do however hope the vendors make enough money from the show to help business recover cost from the last 12 months.

    Obviously social distancing and masking is no longer an issue Australia apparently. Counties like Paris are having to lock down yet again; but Australia must be doing really well to basically be back to pre COVID.

      Brisbane is back to masking and distancing after a recent case of community transmission. We react fast and hard to stop spread, and everyone (mostly) follows the rules, meaning only short sharp lockdowns are necessary.

      Thankfully Australia has done really well to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We currently have one active case in NSW from local sources, and we haven’t had a new case in almost a week. At the first sign of any problem then precautions go into effect; but at the moment restrictions aren’t that strict because we’ve earned a break. - Dom.

      Those are Indian Runner Ducks! They're a beautiful and awesome breed of ducks, they stand in an upright position so they're tall. I adopted 5 of my own, and adore them! ❤ I'm here after finding out an Indian Runner won (for the first time in 199 years) the "Grand Champion Bird" at this years event. I never heard of this show until today, and it looks like a LOT of fun!!

    "6 dollars per person, per ride, to 15 dollars per person, per ride."
    My goodness, that's 5.75 to 14.45 Canadian per ride. A day ticket or season pass to La Ronde, my local park, is 60$, 82 if you also want free parking and a season long free refill cup, and the up-charge rides at Granby Zoo cost 1$ for 2 rides on the roller coaster, 2$ for a ride on the monorail tour, or 15$ for unlimited ticketed ride use for a season pass. I have a feeling if I was there I'd probably hit the roller coasters once for the credit, then spend the rest of the day watching shows, unless there was a full day ride option, then I'd probably do every coaster then keep redoing whichever ones I thought where best, and that mobile log flume because I always hit the log flume.

      Half the problem is the show organisers charge a lot of money to the operators to get a spot, and in some cases make a loan to the operators to come. They have to pay for all their site costs before they make any profit and that’s unfortunately where the cost comes from

    • @flamingliger5533
      @flamingliger5533 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rides that are $15 are the extreme rides like The Beast, Speed 2, No Limit and XXXL. You also need to realise that running costs of these machines too.

    • @ZontarDow
      @ZontarDow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flamingliger5533 I have my doubts any of those have comparable costs to Golioth or Vampire.

    • @robcaines8652
      @robcaines8652 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Goliath and Vampire don’t need to be pulled to pieces every two weeks, packed into several (road registered and insured) semi trailers and moved to a new site (that they have to pay rent on) and rebuilt (by workers who get paid).
      We could debate the costs of traveller versus fixed rides all day. If you’re an avid watcher of Reviewtyme you’ll probably know there aren’t too many other options in Sydney either... so visiting a local park for a ride fix isn’t really much of an option.

      @@robcaines8652 I understand the economics of it I just find the prices shocking when compared to my local amusement park which has a B&M inverted and mini hyper amongst its lineup.
