    I just received the LS12000. I had an Epson 5040UB and was very pleased with the picture. But man, the LS 12000 is on a completely higher level. What a picture and the colors just pop. And, not like the 5040UB, there is no noise at all at 75% brightness; this is with me sitting directly under it.

    Finally a review with someone really talking about black levels. That is what I wanted to know about since it’s laser. I’ve been on the fence with this because of not knowing how good the black levels would be. Thanks for taking the time to do this video.

    Like many commenting here, I am awaiting my LS12000 to arrive. I have a quick question. You stated that you were using two 8k hdmi cables for your longer run. How do you have your equipment plugged into the HDMI 1 and HDMI Earc? Is everything going into your Denon, or are you going directly into your Epson from say your XBox and then into the receiver? The cables have a source and display direction...i am curious as to which direction they might be going?

    • @thedaingeon
      @thedaingeon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Xbox series X runs using one of the 8K cables directly to the Epson HDMI 1 port. All other devices including my PS5 run through the Denon X4700H AVR in to HDMI 2 on the Epson. If I want to connect the Xbox Series X audio through my 5.2.4 setup I just turn on ARC on the Denon and Earc on the Epson and change the denon to "TV Audio". Feel free to post your questions to the LS12000 owners group facebook page. Also please like and subscribe to the videos if you can!

    Just received this projector. Does your projector have a humming/buzzing noise? When changing inputs the buzzing stops and then starts again when video is projected. Upon first look at your setting vs mine they are the same. It is very distracting when scenes are not loud and projector is buzzing. I have looked to see if any could be causing it (cable, mount, etc) and also checked firmware.

      Yes it does have a slight buzz that comes from the speakers when switching to HDR. I have been monitoring it and it does it during most content I watch. I am not certain what it is exactly that’s causing it (hdmi cable, receiver, certain settings)

    Oh please, on a completely black room (as it should be for high end projectors) the Sony and specially the JVCs run circles around the LS12000 in terms of native contrast ratio. Now in your room with those white walls no wonder you think it can match a JVC since that setup is hurting the projector's contrast ratio.
    Its a good projector but is no match for a JVC including previous gens like the RS640, 540 etc.

    • @thedaingeon
      @thedaingeon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, I definitely need to paint my walls black etc. Can’t beat the price though

    • @dlewis1933
      @dlewis1933 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Not everyone wants to sit in a black hole. And there is more to a visual image than just black level. Epson 12000 has great black levels, especially for the price. Epson has better color and brightness (pop) than JVC in it's price class. Not everyone can pay $10000 for a projector.

    • @yepyep111
      @yepyep111 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with D Lewis, and let's not forget one of the biggest attractions is it's not bulb based like the 640/540. Laser sealed the deal with me. Something liberating about watching a movie w/o worrying about adding hours to the bulb.

    • @shaolin95
      @shaolin95 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dlewis1933 Sure not everyone can do a complete light control room and in that case getting a projector like a JVC would be wasting what it can do. Black levels and contrast ARE the keys to an image that is clearly better if everything else is good. Epson has better color hahahah now that is spoken as a true fanboy. Come on mate, lets be real here...JVC are the pinnacle of consumer level projectors, there is ZERO arguing about that. I am not saying the Epson is bad, but the "stands up to JVC and Sony" from the video is a very misleading comment because on a proper room the differences are BIG. You can actually buy a used RS540 or 640 for less than $2500 and will blow away this projector. Now if what you want is lots of brightness in a non light control room, sure go for the Epson.
      There is no need to enter into wild claims like you just did about the Epson color...is no match for the JVC, that is a fact.

    • @shaolin95
      @shaolin95 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yepyep111 I use my projector exclusively for movies...by the time I need to change a bulb I have watched a LOT of them...hardly a big deal. I rather swap a bulb every few years while enjoying superior contrast, black level and overall image quality than watching a less impressive image just because I dont have to "worry" about lamp hours. ;) I guess our priorities are very different...

      Once you’ve installed the firmware - the screen looks razor sharp - you can’t even see any screen door when you stand couple of feet away from the screen - getting the focus right takes patience but once you hit that sweet spot - the clarity is wonderful - I just can’t imagine the JVCs doing leaps and bounds better than this - you’re getting a true 4K screen at $5K - without all the fan noise, with the lumen output, the 30lb weight, inky blacks, the HDMI 2.1 with eARC - this is a bad boy - who cares how the 4K is generated - this unit is a beauty
