The abbreviations are all known by Gen X. We drove the boom in texting, smart phones and social media when the millennials were in nappies. 😹the rest was good.

I think it’s the boomers that think that because I’m Gen X with a 21 year old son and very aware that he’s Gen Z and not a millennial. You can also partly blame Ellen degenerate for that because she’s a boomer that doesn’t have any kids or grandkids and she would often invite Gen Z on her show and call them a millennial.

(Puts official grumpy old woodwork teacher hat on.) Yeah, get your own bloody music, kids! Stop bleeding the life and soul out of stuff that was played on actual instruments once!
And not something that sounds like a misaligned rear derailleur!
You know, that scratchy annoying musical relic sound of Tick, ticky ticky ticky, tick tick ti-ick... crap played through a lo-fi 0.2mm deep phone "speaker." Sounds like the rats in the ceiling formed a band with some chopsticks and foil.
(Puts hat back in the angry box...)
Admittedly, some of the new stuff is pretty amazing through half decent sound.

They grew up with Beatles, Bowie, Abba, Nivana, Midnight oil, Cold Chisel, Angels, pink floyd and even a little vivaldi and Mozart, some jazz, and some really cheesy 80s pop and now they listen to all different types of music by choice, My oldest Son knows all the words to any Abba song and he in turn has gifted us with German heavy metal bands which my husband loves xxx

I'm 51 and when I play my late 1980's rave toons on my tape deck my teen yells at me to 'turn that awful noise off, it's not even music'!!! I'm perplexed...isn't it supposed to be the other way around? I'm extremely nostalgic about my life prior to 2000 as it was very low tech and we had so much freedom... and yes I do like to call rather than text!!! Tape deck and DVD player working fine... good thing because I have a shit loads of DVD's... as you said they seem to have stopped making great movies about anything other than superheros lately... people going to be banging at my door one day to watch something decent... and original!!!

Was booking tickets for a musical including parents and friend all qualifying as seniors. Had an awful moment of realisation just how close that seniors card at 55 is when you hit your mid 40s. Definitely still one of the young ones inside my head! You didn't mention the collection of plastic jewellery that still lurks in the back of drawers, a must with shiny red leggings, leg warmers, a perm and a boom box and your hypercolour tshirt of course.

      Really, 55 for a senior's card? In WA it's 64.

Used to be 55 in some states, now it looks like it’s at least 60 (in vic).... I have 2 pairs of leg warmers, both of which I gave to my mum, and then when she passed, I have them back again. Might start wearing them. See if I can start a new 80’s trend 😂

What are you talking about? Gen X INVENTED BTW, ICYMI, TBH, IRL, and FYI has been around for a very long time. We aren't boomers.

😆 I'm still referring to boomers as "middle aged"... so yeah, I still think I'm 10 years younger than I actually am 🤣
