These bikes where deceptively fast! We owned one and my god would it do anything amazing machine, to this day I can’t do the stunts and hit the speeds I did on one of these! They where the perfect size for me like if you made a bike to fit you this was mine! If they made them new again tomorrow I would trade my GSXS1000 in on one for sure!
I miss this. I was stationed in Germany for 20 years. Reminds me of my ride to and from work when I lived in Frankfurt and worked in Darmstadt on A5. I had a zx6r during that time but had one of these zx9’s later on. Good bike but it was relatively big and heavy and I went back to a zx6r.
Nice to see a old girl thats still got it. But do yourself a favour stay out of the shit on side off the road. Doing that speed and sometimes leant over to could easy wake up dead.

I had this same bike for 12 years. Good memories. Clutch is definitely slipping up top.
Probably just change the springs with 10% harder ones and good to go. Same thing happened on my EX500 and clutch plates were excelent.
Can you timemark when you noticed it slipping? Education purposes
