Richard, You might look into a raid based file server. Many configurations have built in redundancy, and used drives are cheap. Building a 5-20TB server will not cost as much as you think.
I highly agree with your way of using used usable stuff in a professionnel way. Of cause, this is mostly possible for talented people. (Right tools and a stock of component parts is helpful for sure) So 👍👍👍
Interesting stuff, although having just helped a friend to recover (most of) their stuff after a ransomware attach I’m now cautious about adding extra storage permanently attached.

I bought on a auction a semi broken i9-9900K and a working motherboard have been using it for a year now the only problem with the CPU is if i have to low of a CPU voltage it crashes when it loads Windows so i've just forced the CPU voltage to a fixed voltage and its working fine i think i paid 100 euro or something like that for it wasn't that bad deal when just the motherboard was worth 100 euro used Is the caddy hot swappable?

Hi Richard why don’t you get a nas unit they are excellent for sharing and keeping and backing up your videos.
Have you not updated DaVinci Resolve to v19 yet ?

all x99 motherboards are quad channel
13th and 14th gen Intels have stability issues. Be careful.
