I don't know if SCT is actually more prone to bricking, just so many more people (usually less experienced) use it. It can happen to both for sure.

+Alejandro Flores Hey, I had the issue recently with my SCT bricking while trying to change tunes and turns out it's actually not the battery that causes this issue. I worked with Lund and SCT for about 3 days trying to pinpoint what it was and it turns out that if you try to flash the tune in some of these cars while the engine bay is hot, the ECU decides that it doesn't want to read or write data. The remedy for this was to let the car sit for about 30 minutes and let everything cool down before flashing the tune and it works 100% of the time. My car is also a track pack which I'm not sure contributed to the issue or not but I'm kind of assuming it did because I had a non-track pack 2014 GT before I bought this 2014 GT. Hope this helps and you can pass it on to others.

This may be a dumb question but what about a cold air intake addition on a speed density setup such as a 18 5.0 F150? Tune required or no?
Did you get a look at how everything looked when the pull was made? As in, 900hp for a few weeks? Or a happy motor at 900hp?

I have watched a few of your videos. But on a personal level for your car which do you prefer to tune with? SCT or HPtuners? Which has a more helpful userbase to help out people who only tune their own cars, etc?

For some background info. I bought a 2014 5.0 m82 car. Previous owner half assed everything. Had a bama tune in it that ran like shit and currently using the sct 93 octance tune. Only things he put on the car was a Boss302 intake with matchibg steeda CAI and a cat delete with X pipe that is some jack up shitty setup. Going to clean this tune up and put bbk long tube headers with the matching bbk x pipe.

Barano ... In your sct tuner goto vehicle options. It is in there I believe
with HPTuners on LS cars its usually on VCM Controls on the scanner
Barano x4 can do the relearn, the x3 doesn't have that function

So if the car is throwing a maf sensor code with the 2.8 kb with a jlt super big air what maf sensor can be used. Because i think the sensor is maxed out. Its still factory 2011 gt500 sensor.

After I did my cat back the car stalled out thought. Back pressure changed on the 15. It wants to stall after starting up after hot or refilling gas. Otherwise the whole car is stock

Retune off road pipes...My SCT screwed up just because I re-flashed with my door open. (dome lights on, etc.)
I wish I knew a long time ago just how sensitive input voltage was for that sct tuner! I'm so paranoid about it, whenever I'm retuning - radio off, windows up, doors shut, hvac off, manually lock my doors so noone opens them while it's loading, hold my breath, etc. ALSO, I have found (at lea st for an x4SCT on a 13 gt) to not ever retune immidiately after a decent length drive. I have been told by a guy at SCT that they have experienced that too - they seem to think it may be on certain ECM's that have a wire that expands so much during a drive that it loosens the connection. I know...crazy, but I make sure to wear my dream catcher when I'm loading tunes!!
LOL...ya best to be on the safe side....LOL I do believe SCT recommends a charger on the battery, but hey, who listens to that...LOL

Pavlo95 If you have an SCT device, you can change the revs per mile on the device itself.
Space Man I went from 17 to 20 and I just used an app to see my speed and everything was the same so I don't think you need a tune
Depends on the tires. I went from 18s to 19s with a staggered set up. It threw my MPH off by 7-9 MPH. All I needed to do was find the revs per mile of the rear tires. Which the manufacturers list on their website. You don't need to tune but if it's throwing the speedo off, just change the revs per mile on the device. Easily done

i have a 17 5.0 premium i want to add a novi 2200sl how much power on a stock engine can i get safely .. i will do exhaust injectors yada yada .. but no internal mods .. how safe is 700 rwhp
I have a 15 premium with novi 2200 with 3.6 pulley, MBRP exhaust, MSD coil packs, JMS boost-a-pump, with a lund tune. Dyno numbers are 625whp and 498wtq at around 8-9lb of boost, all stock internal.

roberto rg if you using dry nitrous kit you need retune but if you using dry nitrous kit you don't need tune

Unless you want to change where they lockup, it's mostly mechanical.
Devon DeHerrera I run a 3c in my nitrous 12 gt and I ended up not changing anything. Oe lockup is just after shifting into 3rd. Like he said if you want this in a different spot then flash it but I haven't had any issues on stock trans tune. 1.4 60ft and 6.80s in the 8th stock motor trans with converter and footbrake on juice 👌🤘
Wtf is a cam reset and crank relearn? I did a clutch 30k miles ago. So I'm guessing it's pointless to do these things if it was so long ago?
Matthew Gray you'd know if you needed to do a crankshaft position sensor relearn. Your car would be throwing codes.
