  • Ski-Doo ambassador Dave Norona explains the DESS key, or tether cord, that comes with your snowmobile. DESS stands for Digitally Encoded Security System, and serves as both your key and anti-theft device.
Dave’s tip: always have a spare key in case you lose the original, and get it programmed to your snowmobile.
The learning key is available on 4-stroke powered Ski-Doo snowmobiles. This key allows you to reduce your power and speed and is perfect for beginners looking to learn how to snowmobile. Dave’s tip: you can take it to your dealer to reprogram it to a different power setting.

I have found that you learning keys are also available for Ski-Doo Expedition Extreme 800, which are 2 stroke. Which one is correct?

That's two stroke. Not 4. Confused. Mistake?
