Can we talk about how he is learning our language (doing a great job of it too) and brave as he talks in front of so many people. I know many foreign people who are learning and almost too emberrassed to speak, which they shouldn't be, but I understand why. He is an inspiration and I just wanted to say I am proud of him.

Agreed. He has a wealth of knowledge that many anglers want to learn, he's not only gracious to share the information, but is willing to do it in his second language. Kudos to anyone who steps out of their comfort zone to bridge that communication gap.

I have been watching a lot of different Japanese bass fishing anglers I have figured out that fishing seems to fill in the gap’s there is so much that is universal are it could be that I really want to understand what there doing . I have been so very impressed with Japanese bass fisherman . I use to fight the finesse game but that was not getting me anywhere . Now I’m watching listening learning as much as I can especially to these Japanese anglers they are truly top notch bass fisherman and I think it’s great . ( I fell in love with my Fairy sticks )

Imagine if it were the other way around... I’d be so nervous to try and speak Japanese in front of him

He is really famous in Japan, so, it's not that big of a deal talking in front of lots of people.
For his English skill, that is ok, he went to a college with a bunch of professors from the States - so he could learn how to communicate with Americans - because he, at that point, knew he would be fishing tournaments in the States in the future. It took like 15 years to make his dream come true, but he didn't give up.

@@akbuilder7626 it’s actually not the obvious. Bass angler tends to have big EGOs when they become better at catching bass. So they often forget that a kid, a women and even a handicapped can catch a monster bass on a senko. Anyone can fish.

There's a reason why most finesse is rigs are casted on a spinning set up, that and the weight. Nice input.

I learned a lot. I feel that I understand a little about the scale of bass fishing in the United States and the importance of spinning reels in delicate fishing.

    • @thebassuniversity

Well said! Even in places with big fish that will bite big baits, Takumi catches big bass with spinning reels and finesse techniques to do well in tournaments.

I think it's a great technique! The main thing is Japanese bass fishing, but I will try to absorb my skills and try to catch a giant bass myself!

These Japanese anglers giving out this information is gold to Americans. We're completely clueless without their special techniques, they will always have the next level on us and its a blessing that they give out this information. Itu is the dean of Bass University.

When I watch the video three seconds, and I knew that is smallmouth game, then I said: sure ,drop shot, and finesse fishing style, but he still upgraded from 1/16 oz into 1/8,1/4 oz. Neko, wacky, Drop shot game.

He talks about the baits in more detail in the full video at bassu.tv On Lake Fork, they are 7-8" straight tail Japanese worms and he downsizes when fishing for smallmouth.

Unbelievable how people are just now learning about JDM products and Japanese anglers. By far the best products on the bass fishing market. Best lures, soft plastics, colors, paint schemes, hooks etc and it’s not even close. OSP and megabass are arguably the top two in my opinion. There’s a reason pros don’t over advertise them!

Our website, bassu.tv, has over 900 training videos from top anglers. This is only part of his 20+ minute video, we also had him on our live show last Tuesday, which is available on our TH-cam channel in its entirety. We are a reputable fishing training organization that works with top anglers from every major tournament trail. So I assure you, no one is taken advantage of.
