    How about if you grab the eye with a pair of needle nose pliers and then not have to worry about the eye filling up with the paint. ?

    After you add the initial color, have a second color ready and you can use a small brush to add a second color.

    Another great video. It made me rethink using the air compressor for these... the fish pump worked so much better. Think I'm stopping at the store on the way home to get one for my setup.

    Way too much air in my opinion but I see you figured that out. Good video.

    What is the purpose of a fluid bed setup? Im new at this. Thanks.

    • @RevampedOutdoors
      @RevampedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It adds air to the powder paint and makes it act like a fluid so when you dip something into it it conforms to the outdoor shape of the item. If it was just powder you can't get down far enough to surround the whole surface.

    I read most of the comments but didn't see the answers?
    #1) How long does it take to dry 'em,,,, like your hanging them on the rack?
    #2) do you throw them into an oven after they touch dry? Does it help the hardness?
    #3) About, how many jigs can you do with that amount of powderpaint? Say 500 out of that small canister?
    I'm also thinking or coating cast bullets & wondering how long it will take to do a 1,000,, & how much powder i need to buy?
    THANKS,,,,, For a very good to-the-point video!
    OBTW,,,, I fish. So would a 'BABY BUBBLER' from Wallworld work? Just put the air stone defuser inside of the powder coat container? SIMPLE.

      1. As they cool they set up. So maybe 1 or 2 mins.
      2. You can harden them further with another cycle at 350 for 10 minutes.
      3. Alot with the small tubs, I would say easily over 100 per container depending on size. Small jigs 1/32 or smaller would be 150+.
      I run cast with my pistols. This stuff coats decently thick. I haven't tried to coat any casts yet. Depending on grain weight I think you would need to order the bigger jars online I think they have some larger sizes. But I would definitely run tests on the coating first to make sure it works for that application.
      The baby bubbler could work as long as you had a good paper medium to make the filters out of to get an even bubble.

    How did you get or make that tube that the air goes into?

    • @RevampedOutdoors
      @RevampedOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clear tube? That's just a standard aquarium tubing/hose you can pick that up anywhere fish tank supplies are sold, big box stores hardware store etc.

    • @andrewsteuart2438
      @andrewsteuart2438 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay, I figured and ended up finding one, and I found a valve made for aquarium pumps too. Got it all assembled and tested, just waiting for more paint to arrive. I'm painting 4inch long jigs, so I needed alot of powder to fill the tube.

    Whenever you use the dip method put the lit on and bang it upsidedown on the table. Flip open and the paints fluffed.

  • @fishmandan
    @fishmandan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1) get a cheap toaster oven heat the jigs to 300 degrees. 2) Dip the jigs for color 1. 3) Use a paint brush to sprinkle colors number 2 and three from another jar. Do not let brush touch the jig. 4) Heat in oven for 20 minutes to cook on colors. 5(place stick on eyes. 6) Dip in Lacquer and there you go. Firetiger is a 4 color jig.

      I'm good on the dog bed reviews, there are some great dog training channels that might look into it though. Donna Hill, or Zak George would be all over that click bait right now.

      @@RevampedOutdoors they look sweet. Pretty much anything they isn’t just a round jig head is the tops in my book. Idk why but when I use something 1) a little more narrow profile, say a vmc moon eye. 2) or a more oval style type head.. . I catch more fish. Have a bunch unpainted I’ve been like 🤔 do I had paint and epoxy since I also build rods and have epoxy around, or do I just powder a few and get out and test the durability? No idea where to even get started. Today is my first day of considering the powder coat technique.

    • @RevampedOutdoors
      @RevampedOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@braxtonsmith3892 sorry for the late reply I just now saw the question. If you're anything like me you've tried both already. But. What I would say about the powder is it's durable without the cure about the same as paint, with a cure it's "chip hardened" by that I mean it will take a beating until a small portion chips off. Not baked it will act like nail polish, with 10 minutes at 350F it will be hardened and take a lot more abuse. Nothing is perfect though if you hit a bridge piling it will chip off but running over gravel or cobble it holds up pretty darn good. I hope this helps and wasn't too late! Thanks for the comment!
