He graduated from Yale Law School and was brought on because he understands United States Law and could navigate regulations for the company to help attract U.S. investors. What he is explaining is the entire Board was filled with people who had experience in other areas. That very statement "you didn't have any knowledge about Natural Gas or Ukraine" is asinine! Obviously, the Ukrainians already THERE at Burisima had all the experience in THOSE areas! They didn't need anyone who knew about that. What they were seeking were people who had experience in all the areas in which they lacked.
@gizmonium1 How he knew was because he'd met with, and had spoken with, and had been working with the others at the company's Board Meetings. The point is, the Ukrainians didn't NEED people on the board who had experience in Natural Gas or Ukraine. Obviously, the Ukrainians at Burisima already HAD all of that expertise. What the Ukrainians needed on the Board were people with experience in all OTHER areas which the Ukrainians themselves lacked. As a graduate of Yale Law School, what Hunter brought to the table was a clear understanding of U.S. Laws and regulations, which could then help attract U.S. investors.

Trump has convinced his cult that because HB didn’t have experience in the field of natural gas that his sitting on the board is somehow an indication that he was there for nefarious reasons. He was prosecuting Burisma and Zlochevsky vigorously and that's why Zlochevsky needed Kickback Joe to fulfill his part of the deal by getting Shokin fired. After Shokin got fired the case was dropped.
