Yes! My daughter is dyslexic and finding books is terrible. She is 8 almost nine and in level 1(the old version) and she has really taken off too. I recently found’chapter’ books that are her age level but have big print and not a lot of words on the pages at Walmart!
A kindle or other e-reader where you can adjust the size of the text as well as the spacing between the words would give him access to higher level content with the ability to adjust the text to his level.
I have heard someone suggest the hey jack series from usborne. My daughter has been interested in Cam Jansen which is a chapter book mystery type we read it together and she has struggled with reading
