- In this episode of Addicted Life we venture with Cameron Black, Nick Popov and crew on an adventure to do some bottom fishing in the Pacific Ocean. We head out of the Columbia River Bar to fish some of the nearby jettys targeting ling cod and black bass. Great video.. 50 years ago while fishing off Depot Bay, I hooked a 25# ling and on the way up a 44# grabbed it and luckily I was able to keep pressure on them and finally landed the double.. a great day for sure.. love watching you guys have all the fun.. pretty messed up body now so my boat just sits in the barn.. would love to go with you fellows out there again..

Hey my brothers in fishing, I'm a commercial as well as a sport fisherman from Morro Bay in central Cali. I have been enjoying watching your video's now for along time as my family is originally from Washington as well as Oregon. I as a young kid got to cut my teeth fishing in both states and have fond memories fishing for salmon in Harbor at the mouth off the Chetco, up to Winchester bay as well my uncle in McMinnville had a nice stern end dory on Depot Bay. Those three spots proved excellent for Silvers and Kings. While still in Oregon I was happy to fish my aunt's back yard since ten paces from the back door sat the Coquille river where trying spinners and spoons got me catching sea run cutthroat, I was twelve so I was happy lol . Your video was ok but I down home have hundreds of productive spots for deep water Reds, both Lincoln and everything from yellow Eyes we called them golden eye and all kinds of rock fish from Boccaccio as well as both Olive and yellow tail rockfish, deep water holds chilled pepper rockfish and there the best for tacos. Right about the end of Salmon comes the Albacore and I love catching since exotics like big yellow fin and Dorado as well Marlin and Swordfish will be seen chasing bait. I am living not far from Santa Cruz and the Salmon fishing has been hot, I still am having a bad feeling as I watch your boys not release your big weight on the line. I use a releases. I will keep watching you boys as I truly want to fish with the gang for sure,I'm out!!!!

Y'all are having too much fun! Watching you throw back the kelp greenling hurts! Those are my fish to eat in the pacific ocean. The first one I ever had, my dad and I were out fishing in prince William sound and all we had was butter and pepper. Still it was the best fish I've ever had and I grew up in Alaska. Live in Tennessee now.

My dad passed away a couple years ago and was the one who introduced me to bottom fishing and it’s easily one of my favorite fisheries. Something addicting about those lings and rockfish!

On my first trip out for Lingcod, blues are all we caught. Nice video!

Last time I caught a ling was out of Westport. We throw it in the fish box bleed as usual and when we open the box to put another fish in, the ling had a sea bass half way eaten. Delicious fish!!!!! Great video boy!! Keep them coming!!!’

What fun. Blue lings taste the same as other color variants in my experience,all great. My understanding is the color results from more crustaceans in the diet. Thanks for the fun video. Craig
