- I posted this because some of you were having trouble accessing the podcast. In this episode, I talked about how you should respond when the interviewer asks you to tell him/her something about yourself.

Dear Coach Lyqa;
This does not contradict your advice, but for the sake of job seekers who may be thinking about how will they begin to address the questions on "Tell me something about yourself", I would still recommend HR personnel to consider RESTATING information even if it's already written in their resume for Two (2)reasons:
1. To confirm that what has been stated in the CV is the same information narrated PERSONALLY. This is for HR to assess the LEGITIMACY of information from Names, career background, academics, and all things stated up to the bottom of the CV. Do not just rely authenticity of information on paper.
2. To let the candidate ELABORATE or to tell FURTHER information about her personal information and professional background, and by doing so, you really have to start with going through all the things stated in the CV.
Asking the candidate "Tell me about yourself" shouldn't be asked anymore when the interviewer isn't interested to know anything that is written in the CV, because literally, most of the major information about the candidate has been already stated in the CV including job experiences the task they have been doing with their previous company. So what else the candidate should tell you? The candidate would feel harder for them to express themselves and feel uncomfortable if information about her limit outside what has been stated in her CV. That is his PROFILE na.
Over the years, I have been in the field of HR. Instead of asking the interviewee to tell me about himself, I usually begin the question by "Can you tell me your skills and attributes you have regarding the position you are applying for" - This is the main purpose of the interview and their answers are definitely not stated in the CV.

For the past few months while i was on medication, i've been watching your interview tips and it helped me alot especially because i've been working on my communication skills. Today i passed the final interview for CSR but unfortunately there was a mock call and i have no experience in BPO industry so i don't know any of the scripts. All in all it was a great experience and i was able to prove to myself that i can actually communicate in english verbally which i've always doubted before. Thank you Ma'am Lyqa. I hope you continue making these tips bc it helps alot.

Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na babalik ako dito para magcomment kapag nakapass ako sa job interview.
And here I am! after so many weeks of job hunting, rejections, and failed job interviews, I am now moving to orientation and contract signing! Yes, just like you I was rejected by so many companies I applied for but I never gave up. Henceforth, I pulled myself together and molded myself so I can do better in my next interviews.
And Team Lyqa's tips helped me overcome my nervousness and gain confidence in job interview.
I promise to myself that if one company will hire me, I will surely invest my energy, focus, and skills to my job to pay back their trust in choosing as their team😊
This is not a joke. I watched this video before my interview and took down notes for the tips. Saying the company's mission can nail your answer when the recruiter asks this question for you. Mar John Millan It was great. I mean, I cannot deny the fact that I was feeling mixed emotions but mostly nervous. But I passed that stage. I was shortlisted and now I was asked to submit some documents already.

I was supposed to have my first job interview today, but I made an excuse saying I'm not available for today. But the truth is I was not really ready for the interview. Sobrang nanghihinayang ako at pinakawalan ko pa yung opportunity just because I was scared. I'll get myself prepared by listening to Ms. Lyqa.

Second year college na ako ngayon and itong 4months of isolation ko dito sa loob ng bahay ang nag udyok talaga sa akin para mag-isip isip na sa buhay such as business, future; job; interviews, and etc...and nafefeel ko na nahuhuli talaga ako at nagiging lazy dahil sa quarantine.
Same here nakakapag isip isip nako during this quarantine and i need positive people too. 😭
Kung still studying ka pa lang at nagiisip isip kana ahead kana agad sa mga kasabayan mong hindi pa nag iisip ng future plans nila
