if the fairing is made of ABS plastic, acetone is a great way to bind ABS, combine the former with ABS powder(grinded/sanded ABS plastic), put it in the cracks and fractures on the fairing. You can make a slurry of Acetone and ABS plastic to use as a glue or replacement part.
That's a great idea using the screen for reinforcement and strength. I used to just drill two holes on either side and then put a piece of wire and then epoxy over it but your way is much cleaner.
Got a question, you never showed how you filled the missing hole? How’d you do it?? I got a hole in the front fairing on my prebug and I wanna try and fix it
After scraping all the gunk off, it looks like he uses a soldier gun to melt the pieces together on the back side, he sands the burn welds down, then used clear exopy JB Weld to fill in the low spots. He uses some type of mesh, similar to the ones they use for blending drywall sheets, which im guessing is for added support in this case. On the front side he uses some type of light bondo to fill in the crack groves, sands it down and primes it for paint
Nice , but i recommend you do use a hot gun stapler, which melts stainless steel staples in plastic and gives it a rigid and keeps its integrity. Check it up . Melting plastic with a soldering tool isn't enough. It barely gives it strength.
It was great detail to not put annoying and unnecessary music 👌🏼
Excellent video!!!
