I’m late to watching these Japan vlogs and I was so happy to see them running into you :). I love both of your channels. So that was an awesome surprise.
I love how absolutely delighted Kitra looks throughout this entire video! It looks like she wants to squeal in excitement every time she turns around. It’s the cutest ever!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Enjoyed the 'cute' counter that was going throughout the whole video. Props to the both of you for conquering Shibuya Station, both morning and night. Love how you tackle the chaos with calm and reason. It is honestly the only way to do it.
I watched these videos when they first came out as early research for our trip. Now we leave in a few days and I'm getting travel jitters so I'm rewatching them and it's calming me down a lot. Thanks so much for all you do!!!
After our last trip to Japan, my husband bought me a Toto washlet. It replaces the toilet seat on the toilet you already have. It works so amazingly well! I love it and it's the best gift he's ever given me. We're heading back to Japan with our teen in a few months, so we're loving your Japan videos!!!!!!!!!!
@@OrdinaryAdventures Oh, that stinks. Our toilet is behind a partial wall for a bit of privacy, but there's no outlet there, so the thick electrical cord runs along the floor, around the wall and up the side of the counter to the outlet. Looks terrible, but works. Hopefully you can figure out how to make one work for you!
new viewer here, I think my recommendations are finally working. A little information about the lack of trash cans in Tokyo. So years ago there was this bombing incident in the city which a guy hid bombs in trash cans around the city and a few people got seriously injured or hurt. So after the incident the Japanese government put a ban on trash cans in the city area. So always carry a small tote/plastic bag for your rubbish. Also an extra tip; Lawson's, Family mart and 7/11 have public rubbish bins in their stores. You know because of "Convenience".
Yeah kitra you won the stuffed toy thing looks so adorable and cute you two put your hearts and souls and joy into each and every video you do it shows I love watching it wow what a treat to watch all your videos I can’t get over how amazing ordinary adventures channel really is , thanks you guys are the best to take all along when you go on adventures ! 😁😆😃😀😎
Spot on about the subtle, more natural sweetness of the treats there, which I appreciated actually 😋 If you stay there long enough, having a dessert back in the states will feel like being slapped across the face with a bag of sugar lol!
Welcome to my motherland! Yeah the lack of trash cans (and free wifi) is a bit of a pain, as is the fact that it's a pretty cash-dependent economy. But yeah the 7-11s there are on-point! 😘👌 And yes after my dad lived there for so many years the first thing he did when they got back home was to install a Japanese-style toilet in their house lol 🚽
I would over-say cute too, it’s just super kawaii there! 🥰 This is amazing!! Loving the pro tips too; saving this video for a future reference ✅ Can’t wait for more Tokyo videos! 🎉
I loved how you guys kept it real talking about how there might be language barriers in restaurants and getting confused with certain machines and especially using the subway. Those are all things that people who travel don’t really touch base on and the trip seems so easy, however we all know that in reality things don’t always go smoothly. Thank you guys for sharing this awesome Tokyo trip with us!
A smaller menu means fresher ingredients!! That means I’m even more excited to go someday. Thanks so much for allowing us to travel with you on this wonderful journey. You allowed my family and I to make the best out of our Disney trip last year and when we go to Japan we’ll be watching these again.
Love the vid! Personally I found the train system in Japan to be super easy. We bought the JR Pass and used CityMapper to navigate and had no issues! I miss Japan so much! Glad I get to go there again through your videos.
Ahhh guys you have no idea how much i needed this today, received devastating news about my aunt and its had me in the dumps. This vid helped keep my mind off things.
So happy for you both. My two girls will be coming out there in July they already bought their plane tickets so and my daughter speaks fluent Japanese she learned on the computer so thank you for all your cool videos I can't wait to show her.
❤ awesome informative fun CUTE and so love seeing Japan though your eyes!!! It’s watching good friends have exciting experiences in a foreign place. Keep em coming and never let anyone take away from how much you both are loved by soooooo many! They are just jealous! ❤❤❤
First. Loving your videos. This is my first time seeing your videos and they're great. Also, I just looked it up, cause I was curious. Observatory tickets for Empire State Building and Eiffel Tower are $44 and $30 per person. That's crazy.
Ireally loved this adventure in Shibuya so much! Thank you so much for showing it to us! That Lovot robot was just too too too adorbs......I was dead during that part.......
I watch quite a few "Japanese" TH-camrs, foreigners who live in Japan. Seeing you two travelling Japan as a first experience is so fun. It's a whole other take that I don't get to see from my usual channels
We are loving this series! My hubby and I really want to try to get to Japan next year and watching your travels gives us so much info and makes it feel less intimidating. Thanks for sharing! 💜
what an experience to have thank you for sharing with us because ill never get there and it was cool to see everything.. and Kitra im proud of you for leaving that cute little robot that would have been so hard to leave that cuteness behind. ... definitely some interesting stuff there
Pro tip 454: ask someone, just ask 😂 got it 👍🏼 I’ve always wanted to travel to Japan and you’re doing all the things I would do there so I’m loving experiencing Japan through your experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤
Japanese restrooms are the greatest! They have emergency buttons in all the stalls, at least on the island of Kyushu. Most emergency buttons were red with emergency written in Japanese and English. Once there was a green button that didn’t say emergency so I thought it was the button to flush the toilet. Nope, it was the emergency button! Alarms went off, a guy started calling in Japanese, I’m assuming asking if I was okay but i don’t speak Japanese so just stepped out of the stall & looked at him sheepishly and bowed. I was so embarrassed!
They still have pay phones in case for emergency, like earth quakes. Mobile services tend to slow down or completely shut down and those pay phones become super useful😊 Love your videos❤️ Hope you had great time there!
Tokyo is way smaller and denser than California. ALL those ppl there will try to contact their families etc all at the same time. Ppl in California probably drive home safe and meet families within the same day, but that’s not the case for ppl in Tokyo. Some ppl even walk overnight to get home or wait for hours for taxi as public transportation will stop working in those situations💔
Combini's Japan are amazing. Milk products are superior it seems. Prepared foods are so good. Fried chicken and the pizza buns. And the bathrooms are AMAZING.....we found the ones in Seoul to be even better, even in public parks. INSANE... LOL
I just came from Shane and Ryland's Channel. Shame was telling me all about your vlogs and everything about what you do and he's just so happy watching you guys so he was telling us about you and it made me feel like I'm interested in watching you as well. So happy to watch you guys! Thank Goodness I found you. I've been needing something like this to watch. I'm subbing to you now.jkbso I'm glad I'm here.❤
I really love getting to see Japan through the Ordinary Adventures lens. I actually lived there from 2004 to 2005, and I still have gone back to visit co workers, friends, and family over the years. I clapped when Kitra won her keychain at the Game Center. Those UFO Catcher machines are SO addictive. I've had to mail back prizes because of all the ones I've won, lol.
I should take a shot to keep up with the cute counter 😂 new drinking game! Maybe a sip not a shot 😂 When Peter mentioned the coke plus I just said “oh no… I hope he didn’t buy it. It’s the laxative Coke”😂 thank god Peter chose a different drink! You guys got amazing shots of the places you visited! Thanks for taking us along!
Just a recommendation for the next trip, if you’d like: the Shinjuku government tower actually has a free viewing floor (inside) and it is incredible. The last time I went was circa 2014, so it has been a while and I’m not sure what’s changed (I hope it’s still free!), but the lookout floor is huge and has 360 views. The two times I’ve been were a lot less crowded than the Shibuya observation place. We had to go through security and the elevators are small, so there can be a small wait to go to the top, but it’s totally worth it. Especially for free! Also, fun story - when we moved back home to the US, my mom came to visit us in Japan and came home with us when we moved back - she came home to their new puppy that my stepdad had started adopting while she was gone. She named him Hachi(ko) in honor of her trip to Japan. 🥰 p.s. that spaghetti looks like the most normal spaghetti I’ve ever seen from Japan 😂 I’m so excited for the rest of this series! I am really hoping you got to go to Coco (Ichibanya) Curry. If not-next time! Or try in Hawaii, CA, or TX. Okay, at the risk of making this comment into a novel 😅 I think I found y’all a few years ago through the Trackers (or maybe vice versa? My brain is mush), and I looooooved your videos from Hawaii! They were so helpful when I planned my family trip to Oahu. So just wanted to say thanks from a lurker who loves y’all! OMG seeing the pride flags is literally making me cry. Japan has come such a long way - that was very much not a thing when we lived there. I am a huge splatoon fan!!! Anyways, sorry for the play by play comment/novel 😂 best wishes!
Ha we didn’t know where else to do it. And apparently in Japan it’s rude to eat while walking or even on the sidewalk so we were probably not doing it right but I really don’t know where else we could have went 😂
You both are so good at reacting to stuff and explaining your view and feelings. Please, keep up with the great job, it's so entertaining. By the way, I'll be going to japan for a trip on december and I hope to enjoy it as much as you did. I'm doing my research and you're videos are helping a lot!
Amazing video! It's making us miss our trip so much. Thanks for the heads up on the Disney Cafe. Something we learned on this trip to Japan was that not all the "trendy" places are that great and its best to go with local yelp reviews or little hole in the walls. Don't get me wrong, some things were amazing such as fluffy pancakes. Good tips on the getting tickets a head of time! It's a good thing Peter didn't get Coke Plus! It's dietary fiber drink and it's great if you're constipated. 😅 Another traveler learned that the hard way and let us know to be careful and to read labels 😂 Can't wait to see the rest of the vlogs. We miss the egg salad sammiches so much.
Was just in Japan about a week ago for 10 days we only had time for shibuya at night but we visited the shibuya parco. We had major fomo about other things there.
Hi 👋 I hope you guys are doing well and that everything is going well for you guys 🙏 and also I hope you guys are having a happy week and a happy Tuesday 😊. Also please remember to take care of yourselves 🙏. Also I hope you guys are having a good time on your trip. Also please remember to stay safe on your trip 🙏.
I miss Japan! I surprised my ten year old niece (and sister-in-law) with a trip to Tokyo and Osaka for my niece's birthday and we ate at 7-Eleven and Family Mart pretty much every day and Lawson every day we didn't! Love the egg salad, but my favorite was the sando combo pack with ham&cheese, tuna, and egg. The coke plus, from my vague recollection is coke plus fiber, so with mild laxative properties. :)
Kitra justifying everything in the Nintendo store as "practical" is me trying to buy everything I see in that store. I actually really wanted that bacon-wrapped asparagus keychain. When am I ever going to get merch themed to my favorite Safari Skewer from Bengal BBQ. 😂
I'm really enjoying all of your Japan content. Just a information tip the building where the famous Starbucks is location is closed for renovations and won't open until the first half of 2024 but there are some cool other places around the shibuya crossing to see it. (found the info on a IG travel page) I'm really hoping I can accomplish my dream of going to Japan next year.

Thank you 🙏 we maybe weren’t always as calm as we were on the video though 😂
I’m not a photographer or videographer, but I so appreciate the quality of filming and editing in all your videos!
Wow, thank you!
The TDR cameo was perfect! It wouldn't be a Japan tour video without him 😅

@@OrdinaryAdventures your welcome 🤗 and thanks so much 🙏.
Haha laxative coke is a weird idea
Kitra justifying everything in the Nintendo store as "practical" is me trying to buy everything I see in that store. I actually really wanted that bacon-wrapped asparagus keychain. When am I ever going to get merch themed to my favorite Safari Skewer from Bengal BBQ. 😂
😂
This adventure is awesome thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching
these vlogs are making me so happy! I love seeing my friends experience new things, so happy you loved Tokyo
Yay 😁
Another great video. Japan looks so cool, I can’t wait to visit 💛
You should!
I love this!!! Your trip looks amazing!!! I am going to Japan next year for the first time and will be writting down some of your recommendations!!!!
Hope you have an amazing time. We already want to go back and feel like we don’t have enough time to explore Tokyo, never mind the country.
Can't wait for your Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea vids, please try as much food as you can.
We did! Can’t wait to share them with you
I miss Japan so much!

I'm really enjoying all of your Japan content. Just a information tip the building where the famous Starbucks is location is closed for renovations and won't open until the first half of 2024 but there are some cool other places around the shibuya crossing to see it. (found the info on a IG travel page)
I'm really hoping I can accomplish my dream of going to Japan next year.
Crazy that it closed right after we were there
I'm going to Japan on Friday can't wait. Hopefully tourist aren't everywhere like last month lol
Have fun
7-11 in Hawai’i is also awesome

You guys should watch the Hachiko movie! I couldn't stop crying when I watched it, especially as a dog lover
