I simply can't be upset that a new manager brings in his own team. It's S.O.P. in baseball and business. No reason to be outraged by such usual processes.

With all the other issues, Fortes is certainly on the 2025 team. No reason to blow that up. On the right side, if we all agree Lopez must play, arm strength improvement for Edwards is a must. Not too worried about the first base defense at this juncture.

Oh an "oh by the way"....Everyone at that "so called" press conference, should have gotten up & exited when Bendix came up with those B.S. answers.....that would have totally embarrassed the organization, and it would have been very deserved

I like and respect Stottlemyre and wish he would stay, all things being equal. But he is a good example of baseball's randomness. Stottlemyre perhaps properly gets credit for his work with Alcántara, but he hasn't been able to move Cabrera to consistency. While some other pitcher regressions are injury-related, some issues care in the coaching domain and can rightfully be questioned IMO. Baseball is a ruthless meritocracy, for players and coaches. There are benefits to continuity, patience in a process, and incremental development of a strategy, as well. Leaders have to make decisions when the scales are unacceptably imbalanced.

Will they bring in a younger manager or go with an old fart, both of which will be scape goats for Bendix's mismanagement of the franchise

    1. Bendix has done ZERO to build any type of trust with the fanbase.
    2. Mel is an ALL-STAR pitching coach. He understands that there is still more to the game than sabermetrics & analytics.
    3. Nick Fortes seems like a nice guy, technically "beat out" Bethancourt & had a respectable 2nd half. Nick Fortes is NOT an MLB caliber player.
